My lovely DD had all her hair cut off yesterday. She's been thinking about it for ages so it wasn't a mad impulse.
She took a cute picture of an Anne Hathaway pixie cut with her. She also had some colour as she wanted to be blonder. She's very upset with how it looks and thinks is it is very middle aged and not pixie! I think she looks gorgeous but agree that the cut and colour isn't brilliant. It's so short though that we don't know how to change it...Are there any hairdressers out there who could advise? Can the cut be rescued without taking loads more off?? Please please help, I was so proud of her for being brave and going for a change and she's so upset.

Oh its great! So glad she likes it.

kelper · 18/01/2016 17:21

That looks awesome! I did the same to my hair when i was younger, I wish my mum had supported me like you have to your DD.
I think you need to adopt all of MN ;)

omri · 18/01/2016 17:22

Soooo cool! Gorgeous hair and gorgeous daughter! Never mind the gorgeous parenting over the past 24 hrs. Bet she's so excited to go to school tomorrow Grin

justaweeone · 18/01/2016 17:22

Well done you for sorting it out x

ShinyShinyShiny · 18/01/2016 17:24

Fantastic hair, reminds me of Lol from This is England, super super cool.

So pleased you are both pleased.

anotherbusymum14 · 18/01/2016 17:25

That looks really good :) it's way more suited to her and just a really nice cut and color, yay!!!!

DramaQueenofHighCs · 18/01/2016 17:27

Oh that looks so so much better!! Glad it's all sorted! Smile

Branleuse · 18/01/2016 17:27

New haircut looks fantastic!!

I had a pixie crop for a while, and its not an easy style to carry off and you need a confident hairdresser. There is a fine line between funky-short and Myra Hindley.

So glad you got it fixed

WipsGlitter · 18/01/2016 17:31

Looks great. Coloured is wayyyy better.

Frazzled2207 · 18/01/2016 17:31

What a happy ending.

There are definitely SOME vg people at T&G, I found one but he left and I never found out where he went.

I do however want an update as to what happens when you complain to original hairdresser and demand a refund, which you should, of course.

InkleWinkle · 18/01/2016 17:33

Looks fab!

Definitely complain at the original salon.

gBean · 18/01/2016 17:34

So relieved for your Dd! She looks fabulous. Mine also has it short. And many colours (!).

LeBoob · 18/01/2016 17:40

Your DD looks fab OP, but please don't let the original hairdresser get away with it. Go in to the salon armed with your pics (& this thread) & don't leave until you have a solution your happy with. If they don't listen get on fb! They will do it again to someone else & they may not be able to rectify their mistakes!

BackInTheRealWorld · 18/01/2016 17:40

Looks fantastic, am so pleased (and relieved) for her.
I dunno what you are like the rest of the time but you have earned massive good mum points today! Wink

flashheartscanoe · 18/01/2016 17:41

You guys! What lovely comments. My DD makes it easy, she's brilliant. (Most of the time)

Crabbitface · 18/01/2016 17:48

Hurrah! Gorgeous!

MiniCooperLover · 18/01/2016 17:51

Makes me very envious for my pixie crop again even though I've just spent 2 years growing it out again Smile

flashheartscanoe · 18/01/2016 17:54

RE. Original hairdresser. Sorry for massive dripfeed but there were actually 3 original hairdresser's. (Didn't think anyone would be interested when I originally posted). We started last Thursday with a few fringy bits in her long blonde hair. She hated those and decided to go for the chop. So on Saturday she made an appointment with hairdresser 2 for the original cut and colour. She liked the colour and the cut was OK but not what she wanted, it was too long and a bit bowly. The hairdresser had gone home by the time I arrived. And...this is where we went wrong...she quickly made another appointment somewhere else, it did look great short so she decided to go even shorter...this was all a bit rushed and I should have stepped in, so I did feel a bit guilty and responsible. Hairdresser 3 was a senior stylist but kept checking DD was sure and seemed very tentative with it, she kept looking carefully at the picture rather that DDs actual hair. She didn't inspire confidence and we should have walked away. She became quite off with her when DD didn't like the finished cut. Having not experience with short hair neither of us realised how bad the cut actually was - but we did pay and leave and hairdresser 3 didn't do the colour so all in all I don't think we can complain to anyone!

Delinking.. Was it all in one salon?!

TheGreenNinja · 18/01/2016 17:59

Fabulous! Not a sign of Claire Balding left!
I also had a hideous cut when I was early teens (by my mum - what was I thinking?!) and was left to get on with it. It completely shattered my (admittedly fragile) confidence, so it's really lovely to hear you being so supportive and helping your DD get it sorted. That's how it should be done.

GlitteringJasper · 18/01/2016 18:02

Wow! Love itSmile

NickNacks · 18/01/2016 18:03

Gosh I just had a little cry Confused

I think your dd is fab!!!

MrsGradyOldLady · 18/01/2016 18:04

Take lots if photos and the n when it needs cutting again you can show the new hairdresser exactly how it should look.

It looks fab by the way and I would definitely have taken my daughter our of school too.

Floowho · 18/01/2016 18:05

Well it's all sorted now, and like you say, you won't be spending that much on a haircut again. Take lots of pics from all angles, so you can show another hairdresser what it looks like. She will have a story for life.
