Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

I always take the hotel amenities - and give them to my SIL who uses at the gym.

Chucking an old lipstick - B Petal - it has broken and I do not like the finish.

I have a lady coming round tomorrow pm to give me a make-up lesson with my own makeup!!!! I am so excited!!!

Hippywannabe · 28/06/2016 07:19

Finished a Nivea moisturiser sample today, decided to use up some of the samples and tiny sets to try and make headway.

Ememem84 · 28/06/2016 07:39

Finished an arm & hammer brightening whitening toothpaste. It was awful. Didn't leave my mouth feeling fresh at all. Won't be repurchasing.

Still working through urban decay naked 2. Still not hot pan on anything. Beginning to think I'm not using enough.

kwick · 28/06/2016 08:17

eme may I suggest activated charcoal powder? I brush my teeth as usual then stick my damp brush into the powder and brush for a few minutes and voila - whiter teeth!

Ememem84 · 28/06/2016 18:00

kwick not heard of that. Stupid question. Is if black?

applesandpears33 · 29/06/2016 07:18

Another unexciting empty today - a bar of handmade soap. I still have another four in the cupboard though! I'm finding it is slow progress trying to use everything up. Some things just last forever.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/06/2016 13:55

Empties:
Hair Masque
Facewash
Conditioner

And in Boots there's a 3 for 2 so I bought some OGX , to go into the basket until I've used up other stuff , though if my DD finds it first, it'll be in the shower Grin

kwick · 29/06/2016 20:01

Testing

kwick · 29/06/2016 20:03

Ok so MN works from my ipad but not my phone...

eme yes your teeth go black as you brush then when you rinse they are white(r).

I had my make up lesson yesterday - lady showed me how to apply foundation I did not like from Chanel - all about the brush!!! So I bought the right brush today at the airport.

Ememem84 · 29/06/2016 20:10

kwick maybe next payday I'll get some.

kwick · 29/06/2016 20:15

This is the one I bought.

Finished a Liz Earle toner yesterday, so now am on my last one with no backup. I may repurchase if it's on a good deal on QVC one day.

Hippywannabe · 30/06/2016 07:25

Half a dozen hotel shampoo and shower gels finished.
Also, a largish Soap and Glory Slimming gel finished (I am still fat :-) )

IPokeBadgers · 30/06/2016 09:52

Finished a Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel: first empty in ages. I have mixed feelings about this product: dull as dishwater and bit gloopy to use but does clean my skin.

I might well end up repurchasing in the future if only because it is a handy back-up: I have resorted to using it on a few occasions when my skin has been a bit irritated and I needed something that wouldn't cause any further irritation. So from that point of view, it does exactly what it claims with the whole "not perfumed not coloured just kind" advertising.

I have finished a Creme de la Mer sample of lifting contour serum. I must say I have not been impressed at all by the Creme products (I have quite a few samples which I use when I travel). I have a spot on my chin... Not sure if related.

FiveShelties · 01/07/2016 09:51

Just finished a Klorane Conditioner which has taken ages to use up as I only had to use a tiny amount each time. Would not re-purchase as it felt a little heavy for my hair but I love the shampoo which goes with it. Also finished a Mitchum deo which I use all the time, no need to replace as another 4 in the stash.

Have also used 3 samples of face moisturiser of various types.

FrustratedFrugal · 01/07/2016 19:15

I have used up a Lumene mini creamy cleanser, a single-use Missha facial serum and a full-size whitening toothpaste.

FrustratedFrugal · 01/07/2016 19:20

Ememem my eye shadow quad seemed endless, then suddenly I hit pan on one shade and perhaps a month later on the next. I think Annarose has also been workin on her Naked palette. Don't give up, hitting pan feels amazing!

kwick · 01/07/2016 19:40

I may have purchased some Bioderma miscellar water in the airport

FrustratedFrugal · 02/07/2016 08:40

Kwick a Bioderma purchase is never wrong! Wink I bought four big bottles last year and have just one and half left Blush My skin loves the stuff. During the year, I have accumulated mini bottles of micellar water from various brands but none of them has been better than Bioderma. When I'm done with my current stash, I get to do a French pharmacy haul Wink

I have repurposed a product. I have a couple of Sensai Total Finish Fond de Teint samples that are about two shades too dark for me. Then I realized they are a perfect matte bronzer/ contouring powder and I've started using them to accentuate my cheekbones. The color is very subtle and works on my pale skin - normally bronzers tend to be too dark or two orange but this one really works.

kwick · 02/07/2016 08:49

OMG frustratedfrugal I love a French pharmacy haul! Do you have a favourite pharmacy?

Paperblank · 02/07/2016 12:13

I'm going to put Bioderma Micellar water on my must try list.

No empties and I have to confess to buying 2 nail polishes on Thursday... Blush

FitbitAddict · 02/07/2016 12:25

This is like going to an AA meeting! I was an Avon rep until about four years ago, I still have some samples left from then. I'm a teacher, so am often given bath and body sets that I don't really need but always use, and I have quite a stockpile. I have enough nail varnish to paint the house. I still use Avon, and aim never to pay full price for anything, so I get stuff I need when it's on offer and stockpile it. I got married a few weeks ago, and bought six different lipsticks trying to find one that was the right shade and really long lasting.

My Avon lady has just put her flat on the market and is moving miles away. I'm emigrating in two years time. I'm hoping that if I buy the bare minimum I can actually get through everything in that time, although I may need to paint my nails a different colour every day for that to happen!

FrustratedFrugal · 02/07/2016 13:25

Kwick sadly I am nowhere near a French pharmacy so have to shop online - or organize a trip. When I am done with my stash, I deserve a shopping spree in France!

I realized I am actually running out of hotel shampoos Shock Zero mini conditioners left!

Fitbit welcome! You are among friends Wink

FreeButtonBee · 02/07/2016 16:37

A French style pharmacy is opening literally round the corner from me 😱🙄😱😱🙄 this is going to be testing. My doing very well recently. Am on hols so hoping to finish a few travel size products. And a few of the kids' toiletries that have been hanging around for a while.
