Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

Welcome dusty!!! I feel your hoarding is completely legit... Sorry I am an enabler...especially as I just had a makeup splurge in Boots

kwick · 21/06/2016 19:38

Doesn't it look lovely? Blush

It does kwick - there is just something about unopened cosmetics! Grin

kwick · 21/06/2016 20:57

Well I took off all my make-up and then reapplied with my goodies... The Baby Skin is amazeballs. Very sad to see the concealer has nasty silicone in it... Surprised that bronzer did not make we look like an oompa loompa... Just cannot get same finish as the pros Sad

I have sooo much make-up now... Much if it unopened... Think I will ask for a make-up suitcase for my birthday....

Ememem84 · 21/06/2016 21:48

Some freebies from Jo Malone today. Bought a birthday pressie for dm.

Had a reminder on my phone to do a boots shop today. But have just checked and need nothing. Zero. Nil. Nada.

kwick · 22/06/2016 06:50

I finished Yves Rocher almond anti-perspirant - great - I have loads hoarded as I got on special offer. Going to finish up a Bioderma obe next.

PepeLePew · 22/06/2016 22:32

Bottle of Estée Lauder Night Repair stuff finished. Finally. It did nothing for my skin that the Kiehls night oil didn't, without the lovely smell, so I won't be repurchasing.

kwick · 23/06/2016 06:51

I finally finished a Lollipops lip balm (pink & white tube) - lasted ages and is lovely and moisturising on. Might repurchase once I have used up EVERYTHING else I have!

Ememem84 · 23/06/2016 07:11

I'm close to finishing a carmex lip balm pot. Not very exciting but it's a staple.

kwick · 23/06/2016 07:53

I have one of those on the go too em but I am not overly impressed... Infact I find it very difficult to find a satisfactory lip balm.

StewardsEnquiry · 23/06/2016 09:39

Kwick I like Nuxe lipbalm and Korres lip butters. Nothing else will do for me.

StewardsEnquiry · 23/06/2016 10:07

I don't like the smell of Carmex.

Pretty much finished an Aveda rosemary and mint conditioner. It was too light for my dryish hair. Another few uses left in the shampoo bottle so I plan to pinch some of my DD's strawberry conditioner until the Aveda shampoo is finished, so that I can start the next shampoo and conditioner combo together. It is a Philip Kingsley one for dry hair. I have high expectations of this!

Was doing well with a No7 foundation (one of the many).....about half way through the pump ceased to function completely. To be fair, it had been a bit arsey since I bought it, but a couple of days ago stopped pumping out any product at all. So, took it along to Boots and asked were there any tricks to getting a defunct pump working again: she said no and replaced it with a smile and no fuss. So, back to another full bottle of foundation! lol

But fair play, I thought that was fairly good customer service: obviously it helped that it was a No 7 product, as I had no box or receipt.

Thanks stewards i have tried Nuxe but did not find it hydrating enough, will give Korres a go when I have depleted my stocks Smile

LOL badgers!!! Is it any good as a foundation?

IPokeBadgers · 24/06/2016 11:49

Hi Kwick - It's the No 7 Instant Radiance foundation in Warm Ivory and I do think it is quite good. It works well for me as I am (in my opinion) blessed with reasonably good skin....there is a bit of sun damage/redness and the No7 foundations gives me a nice, even natural look without being too heavy.

If you wanted a much more full level of coverage it probably wouldn't be the best choice.

I hit pan on my eyeshadow palette, a glittery champagne shade. This baby is getting used up!

kwick · 24/06/2016 19:08

Way to go frustrated!!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 25/06/2016 13:48

Thanks! Finished a jar of Stridex Sensitive pads. They are a very gentle mild BHA cleanser, absolutely perfect for my skin, will repurchase.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2016 19:42

I keep a load of lipbalms in my bag, car, work bag.
In the shower I've got a Lush sugar lip scrub.
Neals Yard (magazine freebie) in my workbag
Burts Bees Pomegranet with a slight colour in my handbag.
All much of a muchness.

Finished a shampoo (Soap&Glory) non repeat.
Near the end of a Bodyshop Mango

kwick · 26/06/2016 19:04

I just finished a full size Maria Nila luminous colour masque which came in a glossy box yonks ago. It makes hair nice and soft but I find the smell way too sweet and it lingers for days (and I wash my hair every day).

I am SO glad that I bought a hoard of the now discontinued sunsmart aftersun gel from m&s as I got sunburnt today digging at the allotment today. Sad

Paperblank · 26/06/2016 19:09

I have two victories to tell you about Grin

  1. I conceded that I did not actually need to keep the three (identical...Hmm) sanctuary gift sets I happened to buy in the Boots January sale. I re-wrapped the products and begrudgingly gave my friend one for her birthday. I know she loves sanctuary smellies so I feel happy that they've gone to a lovely home Grin

  2. I stayed in a hotel this weekend. I left the toiletries in the bathroom!! I nicked the posh tea bags though!

FrustratedFrugal · 26/06/2016 19:37

I used up a Tresemme shampoo sample. Deeply meh, coconut smelling with a vile basenote. Only listing this because I have a huge sample hoard that I never remember to use.

WellTidy · 27/06/2016 09:10

I thought I'd brought my whole stash together months ago, and made what I thought was a complete list of everything I had. It made for shocking reading. And now I've found three hand creams and a soap that I'd tucked away. They're all loose, so can't be gifted. Cross with myself as I felt that I was making real progress, especially with the sodding hand creams. Now I am back up to seven.

Leaving miniatures in a hotel was alien to me too until I also did it last weekend!

FrustratedFrugal · 27/06/2016 12:57

Paperblank those are major steps forward!

I've completely used up a light taupe shade on a Revlon eye shadow duo that I have used to fill in my brows. It took 1.5-2 years of daily use Never again will I binge shop eye shadow. Undecided about the darker shade. It is okay for a more defined brow but I really prefer a lighter shade.

Well done Frugal - you have achieved something I have never done!
