Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

I'm religiously using naked 2 pallet every day. Even Sunday's which is usually my no make up stay at home day.

Still no closer to seeing pan on any of the shades. Sad

Am close to finishing a small jo Malone body moisturiser. Nectarine and honey. It smells lovely and is super soft. May pop a full size one on my birthday list!

kwick · 26/05/2016 21:43

Welcome mrsdane!!!
Wow!!! I am secretly extremely jealous of your hoarding prowess and I would like to be like you when I grow up
What is Luna Oil and why can't you use when pregnant?
I may have put my name on the wait list for Caroline Hiron's cult box

Moogletea · 26/05/2016 22:01

Finished lovely temple spa shampoo (sad about that as I love) so will have to replenish!

Threw a half used Pearl Drops toothpaste. For some reason it's starting to taste fishy so in the bin it went. Not trying that again - good old Colgate in future

kwick · 28/05/2016 11:56

I have finished three decent sized samples: Clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion - meh; amala brightening corrective concentrate - I really liked how this absorbed but probably out of my price range: amala advance firming complex - again went on well.

FreeButtonBee · 28/05/2016 18:29

I've been trying DDML too and was distinctly meh about it too. My face was sticky 5hrs later, I really didn't like the texture it left on my skin. Will be demoted to body moisturiser, don't think I can handle finishing the sample on my face.

kwick · 28/05/2016 20:07

I often find Clinique stuff is pants free

IPokeBadgers · 29/05/2016 18:03

Finished a Rituals Happy Buddha shower foam. Loved it, will repurchase at some point.

So today I have finished:

  • yves rocher purifying miscellar water: nothing compares (so far) to Bioderma...
  • Jo Malone lime basil and mandarin body wash: yummy smell, lovely pressie just cannot remember who from...Confused
PepeLePew · 30/05/2016 17:23

Just put a Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir body wash and La Roche Posay face cleanser in the recycling bin. Very satisfying.

Paperblank · 30/05/2016 22:51

FINALLY!!

The Elemis cleanser is finished!

Onto a Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish now for some reason these don't tend to last for decades so I'm likely to get through this one fairly quickly.

IPokeBadgers · 31/05/2016 09:39

Congrats Paperblank !!

That sneaky Elemis Cleanser has been renewing itself when you weren't looking for a while now hasn't it! So frustrating when, even if you like a product, you are a bit bored and fancy a change, then the thing just seems to last forever and ever!

Badgers

You're telling me! I was considering using it to clean the bath!

Grin
IPokeBadgers · 31/05/2016 18:56

Clean the bath!!! Lol

Definitely a #firstworldproblem

Buy a bottle of Beauty So Clean, it's specifically for sterilising make up.

WellTidy · 01/06/2016 15:04

Its taken me weeks to have an empty, and now I have two. Both body moisturisers for my lizard dry skin.

  1. Ahava body moisturizer - lovely smell, very rich formulation, but unfortunately nothing special. I wont rebuy (it was a present anyway).
  1. Flexitol 10% urea moisturiser for feet and legs. This is the only moisturiser that works well for me as my ski is so, so dry. It also gets rid of the KP on my upper arms. I hate the smell, but I will definitely rebuy, but not until I have used up the nearly 1 litre pump of it that I have in reserve.

I think I need to join this thread! Got an email from Space NK today telling me I'd been upgraded to their ndulge de lux card as I've spend over £1k in the last 12 months.

How has this happened, I just seem to have a load of rubbish in my make up drawers!

Must start to work through everything I have before I start buying more...

applesandpears33 · 01/06/2016 16:14

I finished up a clinique lip gloss today. It was nice enough, but nothing special. I don't think I'll repurchase.

StewardsEnquiry · 01/06/2016 18:14

I finished a Clinique chubby stick earlier this week. Won't repurchase - colour had no staying power at all. Like a tinted lip balm.

I have another in a different colour to get through but I will concentrate on something else first for a change.

StewardsEnquiry · 01/06/2016 18:26

To answer your question about why I persevere with something I hate, MrsDane, it is because I am so fickle I would be wasting an extraordinary amount to stuff if I didn't. If I really hate it then yes, I do throw it but often the thing in question can be demoted or reprised, which is really satisfying.

kwick · 01/06/2016 18:35

welltidy what is KP?

FrustratedFrugal · 01/06/2016 18:44

I also think that using up something I don't like is useful. I have overshopping tendencies and this has really helped. I am now much more selective. And often I start really liking something only after I have used it repeatedly for a while. And it feels amazing to actually finish something - I'm a month or two away from finishing my first eye shadow palette ever!

kwick · 01/06/2016 18:49

frustrated well done... I do not think I have EVER finished up a pallette and I am nearly 42... The thing is I still have the unfinished pallettes... Yuk right? I know I will have an amazeballs sense of satisfaction when I do finish one but I flitter too much as I like to wear different colours each day although most of my eyeshadows are similar colours

IPokeBadgers · 01/06/2016 22:02

I weakened at Xmas and bought an elemis qvc tsv which included shower gel/body lotion/hand cream. I chose the sweet orchid option and have dug it out of the stash tonight after finishing my Rituals shower foam: I love it!. Really enjoying using it, I enjoy going to bed smelling nice and the body lotion is really lingering on my skin :-)

Kwick, it's the spotty skin I get from my elbow to the top of my arms on the outside. I've had it for years and didn't know it had a name until I found our through MN recently. I can't remember what it stands for sorry. I don't have it anymore, not since I started using soap and glory scrub of your life twice a week, and the flexitol for feet and legs moisturiser due to its high urea content.

FrustratedFrugal · 02/06/2016 20:11

Kwick I'm 43 and started last year Wink I switched colors a lot early on but then somehow this peachy palette just clicked and I have completely used up the palest shade and the rest are dwindling quickly.

I'm also in love with a mega bright Chanel lippy and using it every day. I think it will be gone by the end of summer.
