My name is Mrs Dane and I have a problem. I am an habitual hoarder of make up and skincare and I spend ridiculous amounts of money on it. I do, however, think I've found my spiritual home.
Empties this week: I'm almost done with Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser - whoever it was that wanted a cheapy alternative (so sorry I can't remember your name) the Ren Clay cleansers are about half the price and pretty good.
Zelens Z Matrix moisturiser last month. Lovely cream but not quite right for my skin, so have switched to their lighter Shibo moisturiser.
Oh and the Nivea in shower moisturiser (love that stuff).
I went to Sephora in Miami in March and automatically joined the second tier of their loyalty club, after spending $500....binged on Sunday Riley products (bought Luna oil, then discovered I was pregnant, so it's just sitting there, staring at me), Tidal cream (weird smell, don't like it much), Kate Somerville moisturiser and cleanser (both meh) a TONNE of make up - Becca, Hourglass - anything that's cheaper over there than it is here. I then bought a load of stuff in Space NK a fortnight ago (SR Good Genes, more Ceramic Slip, a Ren Rose cleanser...) when they did their freebie bag - I AM SUCH A SUCKER FOR GIFT WITH PURCHASE!
I'm yet to count how many lipsticks/eyeliners/mascaras/foundations I actually own. Although I did binge on the new Charlotte Tilbury palette that came out a few weeks ago, which I like a lot.
I am stopping myself from buying Caroline Hiron's latest box for Cult Beauty. I don't NEED it. Stop it now.
This thread is a fabulous idea though - it's a great idea to share the achievement of finally finishing something! Although I will say, there's a common theme - so many of you seem to persevere with a product even if you hate it or it's years out of date. I say: life's too short, chuck it away. I appreciate this is not in the least bit financially prudent, but in my experience I'd end up spending more on other items to correct the issue that's been caused than just chucking in the first place. This is such a cathartic experience!
