Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

I want to second the superdrug hot cloth cleanser, but I do find it a bit drying/ too rough. I just use it as it says on the box so there might be a better way.

I do like for 2/ week use.

dogdaydisaster · 19/05/2016 11:40

Finished up a load of stuff this morning. A tresemme red shampoo, and Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner, both of which are staples and always in backup. And a nice but basic imperial leather shower gel. But the main one was a huge tub of Dove body cream, which was a birthday gift from DD last November. It was a nice one, and soaked in easily, but as I suspect is the case with most of us, I have LOADS of body lotions in the cupboard so I won't repurchase.

dogdaydisaster · 19/05/2016 11:44

Oh and I also finished another mni L@occitane hand cream, in cherry blossom. I love their hand creams, but this one had too strong a scent for me. Still got quite a few hand creams to go.... Grin

FreeButtonBee · 19/05/2016 11:51

I have put the most expensive hand creams in the downstairs loo. No point saving hand cream. Put a crappy one in my handbag as if I want hand cream when out and about I'll use whatever I have.

Finished the malin &shorts body lotion. Alllllmost finished the dove deo.

I'd forgotten about hair products 😱😱😱 I don't have much but don't use much so it lasts forever. Have two tubes of bumble and bumble hair styling stuff which will take a million years to finish. Plus other crap too.

The beauty flash balm is still going. Haven't even opened the tube with scissors yet 🙄 Get to keep on keeping on

I am waiting for a new face wash to be delivered so am using up some samples. Today's (Korean beauty one - tony moly) was Harsh. Other sample went straight into the bin. Ouch my poor skin.

StewardsEnquiry · 19/05/2016 16:03

Frustrated that youtube vid is very funny!

I am close to finishing a No7 Essentially Natural foundation which is fine, like a tinted moisturiser really. But i won't repurchase because I like the Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers better.

I am also close to finishing a Korres fig body butter which smells amazing and I will repurchase but not for a while because I like to try new things.

Kwick709 · 19/05/2016 19:18

OMG frustrated this is actually a thing! What it is to be part of this cult community!
Will view later with delight!

Kwick709 · 19/05/2016 19:26

free you may have tried this already but I got through my clarins beauty balm by putting on a very thick layer and leaving on for 10 mins then washing off.

HOW AM I GOING TO RESIST A SUPERDRUG SPLURGE NOW??????

I think this thread may be inciting my addiction rather than curing me but I DO NOT CARE!!!!!

FreeButtonBee · 19/05/2016 21:32

kwick yes I've been using it as a mask. Although I do it at bedtime so don't bother to wash off. Just slap some moisturiser on top.

dogdaydisaster · 20/05/2016 10:00

Everything seems to be running out at the same time over here. Finished a bottle of perfume - Liz Earle No15 this morning, but have another on standby. And a B(superdrug brand?) brush cleaner which is as good I think as the other more expensive brands for giving brushes a bit of a quick clean. I will buy this again.

CheshireChat · 20/05/2016 12:38

Finished a Bleach London hair mask, I can't say I find it any good for my... uhm bleached hair. I still have another one as they came with the kit which didn't work for me either. If anyone wants it, let me know.

Definitely won't be repurchasing.

Kwick709 · 20/05/2016 18:18

Someone at work was giving away beauty stuff... I took almost all of it... No idea if it will work...

Kwick709 · 20/05/2016 18:20

Not sure if I have shared before but BEWARE of any ingredients starting with cyclo- this nasty can impact fertility and has been banned elsewhere.

Finished clarins herby smelling blue shower stuff!!!

BubsAndMoo · 21/05/2016 09:56

I

Moogletea · 21/05/2016 20:54

Finished Clarins gentle eye make up remover (love). A sample of Yours Truly Organics Fix Me serum (ok but wouldn't purchase full size)

Also finished Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier hand and nail balm. Got this in the M and S Advent calendar. Love the texture - hate the smell. Would buy in a different fragrance

Ememem84 · 22/05/2016 11:20

Finished pink grapefruit body butter from body shop. Hooray! Just another three body lotions to go!

dogdaydisaster · 22/05/2016 13:27

Finished an elemis flash balm thing today. Not quite sure what it did tbh.

FrustratedFrugal · 22/05/2016 16:13

I've hit pan on two blushers. Only a little bit remained of both, so I combined the two. I depotted my beaten-up Benefit Dandelion blusher, mashed it up with a manicure stick, mixed it with a bit of alcohol, and filled an almost used-up stripy Lily Lolo blusher-bronzer container with the mixture. it's a flat compact, portable, unlike the bulky Benefit box.

applesandpears33 · 22/05/2016 16:59

Another empty - a tube of Avent foot gel. It was OK, but I will not repurchase. Now I have the pleasure of deciding which body butter from the stash I will open to replace it.

FreeButtonBee · 22/05/2016 17:34

I had a lovely bath last night using lots of things that I normally don't get round to using. Lovely aromatherapy associates bath oil and ren body scrub and AA body oil afterwards. Delicious. Was nice to use stuff I really like rather than ploughing through stuff for the sake of it. However back with the programme today. Used a dr haschuka almond body lotion sample. Smell was horrible so used it on my legs.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/05/2016 18:35

I used up a tub of Superdrug Coconut mask that I found in the bathroom cabinet ( one of the tips on the Henna thread is to use conditioner rather than shampoo to remove it)

I bought myself some BodyShop goodies but they are firmly in the storage basket until I've ploughed through the rest .

kwick · 22/05/2016 20:50

70 to remove what? Henna?

IPokeBadgers · 23/05/2016 13:21

Another one here who loved the video...will enjoy watching those....very funny. Loved how unimpressed she was by the "bar of gold"....

Finished another one of my cleansers: a Liz Earle C&P in Rose and Lavender. It was one of three limited editions so only one more of that particular set to go....although have at least one regular C&P in the stash.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/05/2016 18:39

I'm slightly obsessed with Kimberly Clark - I've watched four or five of her videos Grin

I tried my repotted Dandelion blush today. It dried overnight and yay, it's a success! I always found Dandelion a bit dull but it is now slightly more nuanced than before as I have mixed it with the remaining stripy bits from another bronzer-blusher. I get a nice healthy tone and it is far easier to apply. I have another almost used up blusher that I also might repot.

Haven't finished anything but working on lots of products. I've found a super bright Chanel lippy from my stash, just a stub left, absolutely love wearing it. Using up is addictive Wink

littlepooch · 23/05/2016 19:58

Still going strong in using up hair stuff. I finished a bumble and bumble dry shampoo which was awful, just horrid, definitely won't buy that again. Also finished a blow dry Creme which again I don't like. I've come to realise there are one or two products that work on my hair and everything else is just terrible and a waste of time for me. I must remember that and not buy the next miracle hair product.

Should finish a sanex shower gel and a dove deodorant tomorrow too - pretty boring. Both were good but I have others in my stash to use before buying anything else.
