Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

Ooh ANOTHER empty! Body Shop vitamin E illuminating cream - I love the smell of this range, just not so happy on results...

Ememem84 · 07/05/2016 11:11

Was in boots buying vitamins and new clarins stuff has arrived. Lovely serums. For detoxing. Brightening and something else. I avoided the full price ones but picked up a couple of samples.

Will see what these do. Then may treat myself on payday. At £28 it would have been a splurge for yesterday. On payday it's no different to me treating myself to a new top.

Ememem84 · 07/05/2016 11:13

kwik I'm never convinced about body shop. I buy it then go off it very quickly. Is the vitamin e stuff worth it? I also think it's expensive for what it is and miss the old school body shop stuff

I do love the body butters though. Got lucky a while back. And they were on sale so I bought about a hundred pink grapefruit ones! maybe only 6

Woodhill · 07/05/2016 11:19

travel size body lotion and full size aloe one in the bin. I am working through the foot creams.

My body butter is too heavy now so will use it on cooler days.

I did order some Avon footsprays yesterday.

Kwick709 · 07/05/2016 11:42

eme I agree... Lets start a petition to bring back the old Body Shop!!!!!

LesIncompetents · 07/05/2016 17:34

Two mini perfumes used up in the last week- L'Occitane Immortelle and a fig and vanilla one from M&S. I'm decanting little dabber bottles into travel sprays which helps get through them quicker!

I used to love old body shop too. Bring back the bath pearls!

Oooh bath pearls? What were they? They sound good :)

FrustratedFrugal · 08/05/2016 10:13

I cut open a pump action bottle of moisturizer. A few spoonfuls left, will use it up on my legs in the coming days.

FiveShelties · 08/05/2016 10:48

Another hotel conditioner used up, only one or two to go now. Also a M & S Hand Wash gone - not replacing as I am using a shower gel in its place. So many shower gels to get through so helping them on their way by using as hand wash.

Kwick709 · 08/05/2016 16:05

Great idea five

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/05/2016 20:44

Henera Shampoo and Conditioner finished, used the remains to rinse out my henna.

I will re-buy, it was £1 each in Savers, smells gorgeous, like marshmallows and as I'm using henna to colour, what's not to like?

StewardsEnquiry · 09/05/2016 13:13

I finished a hair conditioner. It was Avalon Organics Rosemary which I bought thinking I would like the scent (like herby things, not so much fruity citrussy things) but I hated it. It was too light in texture so not conditioning enough, the smell was meh and it was cheap so didn't even feel luxurious. I was using it as quickly as possible, on my hair and shaving my legs with it too. Won't rebuy!

StewardsEnquiry · 09/05/2016 13:15

Also very nearly finished a Dr Haushka Rose Day Cream. Don't like this either - it has no 'slip' on the skin so end up pressing it in rather than rubbing it. Again won't rebuy

Ememem84 · 09/05/2016 14:08

steeards I hate when moisturisers do that. Currently using a palmers cocoa butter tanning moisturiser. It's nice. Smells great. Really moisturising but it streaks!!!! So I have to be careful I don't go patchy.

FiveShelties · 09/05/2016 20:17

I have been steadily using up lipsticks and have just thrown another one away today and have realised I only have one left! So I now have the perfect excuse to purchase something - cannot believe I have got down to one - how exciting! Grin

MinnieF1 · 09/05/2016 22:38

Oooh please can I join in? I have found my people!!

I am such a make up/hair care/skin care hoarder too Blush

I have started to gather the products i want to finish and make sure I use them all up before opening new stuff/buying more. I have also cancelled my glossybox subscription mainly because it was always full of tat

I have managed to finish a couple of shampoos recently. I'm going to try to use up some face products this week too

Kwick709 · 10/05/2016 18:12

Welcome minnie!
I completely agree about glossybox and I have cancelled my subscription too.

stewards I had exact same issue with that cream - not sure why some rave about it.

Kwick709 · 10/05/2016 18:13

Massive congrats five... I have about a gizilloon all in similar shades Hmm

dogdaydisaster · 10/05/2016 19:27

I don't think I'll ever use up a lipstick.

But I have a couple more empties, both toners

Nip and Fab glycolic pads- I like these but there was a bottle of 'glycolic fix' liquid in boots for 1/3 of price in Boots so I'm trying that.

Queen of Hungary mist spray thingy from Omorivizca (sp?). Smells nice but I really can't see what it did, won't buy this - was a freebie so can't complain.

I'm now at the stage where I have 4 cleansers, all of which I use according to what I fancy (balm, clay, oil and cream) and a back up of those I use most. I have 2 toners, a couple
Of serum/oils and day and night cream. So I'm happy with that.

I still have loads of makeup and shower gels and body lotions which need clearing though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/05/2016 20:28

Large bottle of Aldi shampoo that had an teaspoonful left but was cluttering up the bathroom cupboard, not used up.

I added some hot water, swirled it round and emptied it

Not a repurchase though, smells a bit washing up liquidy

feelingmiffed · 10/05/2016 20:54

Place marking as I need to have a make up/ skin care clear out!!
