Bloody hec Hattie, I'm going to retrain as a Head Masseur. Money for old rope.
BD oh how I hear your cries of desperation. I bet the turn around time for said rebranding is also ridiculous. How did we both end up working for a bunch of eejits? My sympathy. I've never asked if you're Unionised, and whether there's any support in that capacity? Out reps are enthusiastic , yet move like there's all the time in the world. Gah!
Trying to find the energy to crawl back in to work today. I will turn down VR today and steel myself to apply for new job in a few weeks time. It's going to be hard to paste a smile on my face I think.

Auriga, hope you are enjoying Budapest in your Armani t-shirt! Beautiful city, and the Hungarians are wonderful people. ( I'm related to one Grin)

Happy Friday Unified Crepeys!

Blackduck · 18/09/2015 08:01

Cremo keeping everything crossed for you re job. For me my job is safe (ha) but I'm doing it with less resources and changes happening left right and centre - in the last announced one they actually had the audacity to use our consultation responses to justify this increase in management Shock. I am pretty sure we didn't say we needed more Chiefs.....

I have to plaster it on everyday for my students sake....

We are unionised but there's only so much they can do.....

Blackduck · 18/09/2015 09:54

Any word on NU?

motherinferior · 18/09/2015 10:41

Not so far.

I had a terrible birthday some years ago, in which virtually none of my fellow-inmates did much. I was majorly miffed. They've learned their lessons since then. Or rather DP has. The girls were a bit too small to step up to the plate that year.

hattymattie · 18/09/2015 11:36

Hope NU's OK.

Molly - do you really think the lib dems and JC have similar fashion tastes?

BD - sounds dire and very frustrating that there's nothing you can do.

I have been to the gym and have a headache. There was a lady in tears because she received a text just afterward about an acquaintance who had jumped from the 6th floor. Sort of put any minor problems I might have in perspective.

Collymollypuff · 18/09/2015 11:44

How awful re the suicide, Hatty. Sad No wonder you have a headache.

Re left-wing vests: I was just struck by the sartorial convergence because Tim Farron, leader of the LibDems, was saying Blairites are approaching him; but if you think about Tim Farron and Jeremy Corbyn, their image is similar. They don't care. They wear stuff which is practical, especially for protests, rambling and marches. Whereas the Labour righties are more likely to wear suits and labels to impress (whatever brands that may be for men). Clothes for the boardroom and the cocktail party, preferably on a yacht. Preferably in the Caribbean.

motherinferior · 18/09/2015 11:57

Hatty, how awful.

I wear vests Grin

bigTillyMint · 18/09/2015 11:58

You are right molly - all Michael Foot stylie!

Hatty, how sad.

Rosebag · 18/09/2015 16:04

Gosh Hatty that sounds awful.

Anyway, I hitched a ride off the Enterprise and am pleased to have landed on an active thread. I think head massages are entirely overrated and you end up looking like you've been dragged through a greasy hedge backwards. I'd go with the good shampooist at the hairdressers too.

I have made a Stuffed Monkey for Sunday night having forgotten how easy and yummy it is. I haven't made one for years. I will now make another Brownie. DH and DS are on a train to Newcastle for tomorrows Uni open Day.

I do hope NU is ok. One is inclined to worry when someone goes off the radar, even if you have never actually met them. Sad

MontserratCaballe · 18/09/2015 16:21

What's a stuffed monkey, Rose? So sorry I can't join you but am sure it will be a roaring success.

Hatty, that is just horrible. Poor poor woman. Hope you are ok.

Herbs, did you get the job application in?

Hope NU is just pleasantly busy with RL fun. Fingers crossed.

2 children out, and third is playing monopoly with his pal while the cat and I sit in the kitchen relaxing. I'm off out tonight on the razzle so just conserving my energy. It's been a grey old day here. Hope the weekend brings better weather. I have a Sunday afternoon pass and fancy a potter in town without an umbrella or a north face coat...

Rosebag · 18/09/2015 16:32

"Back in the East End there were other popular foodstuffs that are now less familiar.
"There was a cake called a 'stuffed monkey', which was a pastry filled with dried fruit. The odd name was probably a shortened version of the name of the Dutch Jewish family - Monnickendam - who made them," explains Kendler."

Ooh - I have an interview for Teaching Assistant. Doubtless there will be lots of other overqualified women plus young perky smiley people. Still it will be a good experience. First interview I will have had in a million years though. (need an anxious emoticon)

bigTillyMint · 18/09/2015 17:35

Ooh good luck Hatty!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 18/09/2015 19:46

Yes, very good luck Hatty! The others won't have the power of the Crepey massive cheering them on... Wink

Cremo · 18/09/2015 21:13

Good luck Hatty! And I am sorry to hear about your friends bereavement. Just dreadful.??The sore head may have another cause, as apparently if you forget to breathe properly during exercise ( holding breath or some such) it can cause headaches. ????Such a hectic day. Only another 2 hours before I can go home. Yawn

MontserratCaballe · 19/09/2015 08:19

That's a late one, Crem. Hope you have today off to rest a bit.

Hatty, well done on the interview. I am sure you will be grand. What sort of school is it?

Fantastic night out with girlfriends, cocktails and delicious food. I haven't laughed so much in ages. Feel a bit delicate now though. Only a morning of ballet and drama to sit through. DH is on the secondary school mooch today. It's K for him. BTM, I will email you today re a cheeky coffee to discuss further.

Have a good day everyone Smile

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2015 10:47

Monty that sounds like my kinda night. And your DH got his just deserts going to listen to the trumpetingWink R u visiting during the school day too? That's deffo worth doing for all schools.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2015 10:48

I'm on a train up north again. I love train journeys - love looking out at the countrysideSmile

Cremo · 19/09/2015 11:40

Back in work today Monty. I work stupid hours sometimes. It's the job I'm afraid.
I am so tired I could curl up under the desk. Perhaps no-one would notice.
Can't wait to be in London this time next week.
Hatty good luck with the job, sorry I forgot to say.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2015 11:57

Can't wait to see you Cremo Smile

MontserratCaballe · 19/09/2015 12:36

BTM, yes, I am visiting in the day as I'd like to see it up and running but DH is ver' ver' busy and important Hmm so can only do the weekend. Allegedly.

Have a nice weekend away. You en famille or tout seule ?

Hang on in there Crem.

There is a large turd in our front garden. I believe it to be of human origin. There goes the neighbourhood.
