And what you look like in those clothes... ( you have to do a google pic - a like)

CalamitouslyWrong · 16/05/2015 20:16

I once tried something on in a cos shop. The XS could have fitted an elephant.

nooddsocksforme · 16/05/2015 20:18

M&S is the worst culprit, Next not great. I am too old for H&M or Topshop. Walked into Wallis today and walked straight out. Used to like phase eight but way too mother of the bride now. Doesnt leave much . (like some things in mint velevt tho-wish they would do a bit more colour)

mrsdavidbowie · 16/05/2015 20:20

I always feel you have to be ironic to wear Cos. In theory I should be able to wear it..I'm six feet and size 14.
But I look all wrong.
Just frumpy and sack like.

Crumblevision · 16/05/2015 20:25

Tesco . I think I would spontaneously combust with all the static from the polyester.

noddyholder · 16/05/2015 20:29

I have a couple of cos silk knot front blouses I wear with leather jeans and heels or boots they are lovely The dresses are good in winter

Preminstreltension · 16/05/2015 20:32

Sharon Karen Millen

Cos for the weirdness as illustrated brilliantly down thread.

Toast. Ok if you are a winsome cutie doing a boho look. But you are not. You are a middle aged woman in a fawn hessian dress and librarian sandals.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 16/05/2015 21:35

I heart COS but its sizing is basically totally random.

Thurlow · 16/05/2015 21:40

White Stuff and Fat Face.

I'm 5'1. Nothing in those shops has ever met a person who is under the height of 5'7.

Lucy61 · 16/05/2015 22:19

River Island and Bon marche

Lucy61 · 16/05/2015 22:20

Crumblevision- so true about tesco! Hee hee

Bexicles · 16/05/2015 22:22

Peacocks, just grim.

SouthWestmom · 16/05/2015 22:25

Somewhere like millets, all comfy fleece.

kissedbyamoonbeammyarse · 16/05/2015 22:35

Lidls aisle of doom

Runningupthathill82 · 16/05/2015 22:41

Fat Face. I would genuinely rather wear cheap polyester Tesco stuff day-in, day-out than Fat Face's frumpy teacher-look full time. Those prints. My EYES.

Also, I would be permanently half naked if I were limited to Fat Face, as their vanity sizing is so extreme that I wouldn't be able to walk down the street without my trousers falling down. That would be problematic.

BlossomTang · 16/05/2015 22:44

Forever 21 is hooker wear

7amWakeUp · 16/05/2015 22:48

Lipsy (trampy)
Joules (dull)

CointreauVersial · 16/05/2015 22:50

LOL at Lidl.

They only ever have massive or tiny sizes in stock. I don't think I'd actually be able to construct an outfit from there.

But I'd be well equipped with power tools, snowchains and storage units.

mrsdavidbowie · 16/05/2015 22:50

aisle of doom
Grin

Izzy24 · 16/05/2015 22:57

I love White Stuff fabrics/shades/shapes .

On the displays.

But when I try them on they just look awful. I'm not curvy and medium height so I don't understand why they look as horrid as they do.

( Or why I persist in trying to find something there that will look nice. It's just not going to happen.)

Izzy24 · 16/05/2015 22:58

Doh! I meant White COMPANY.

badg3r · 16/05/2015 23:16

Desigual. Their stuff looks like it's been vomited on by a sewing machine on LSD. I think it's in Spain that they have promos where you can pick a free outfit you like if you turn up in your underwear. I could never go, it'd be a cold trip home...

blueshoes · 16/05/2015 23:16

I am surprised so many people don't like Zara. I am short and petite - Zara really suits me except the trousers.

dogrilla · 16/05/2015 23:17

Desigual with Irregular Choice shoes - Urgh.

FoodieMum3 · 16/05/2015 23:18

I love this thread!

Funny, Jane Norman was heaven to me 8 (??) years ago. I'm a little over 30 now and If you shopped in Jane Norman, you had made it Grin
I actually had a look on the website a few weeks ago and the dresses appear to be exactly the same as they were 8 years ago Shock I find them incredibly tacky now. Quality was good though.

Boden - I just don't get the MN obsession.

Next - Love, love, love it for DC but really dreadful for adults. I always associate it with depressing office wear.

I love Primark for the first wear. It all goes downhill very quickly after the first wash.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 16/05/2015 23:24

Anywhere "designer".

I am not huge but am not a size 12. I also could never justify spending hundreds of £ on one outfit.

Seriously, George, F&F, Primark, H&M and sometimes Next will do me.

I can't stand clothing snobbery.
