The thing is that DH has had a text from the bank to check if the transaction is fraudulent but the text says the transaction occurred in Ireland. All very odd. Will have to sort in the morning as DH has fallen asleep bless him. I've emailed Barneys in the meantime.

BrandyAlexander · 22/01/2015 22:22

Oooh fab Shop!Grin

If you have any patience (I have none!) my travels begin again next month. Two trips to the U.S. and one to Asia coming up in Feb and March. I can pick up anything you want?

Can someone remind me of the date of the MU? Need to make sure I am in the country!

Have had lots of compliments today on my outfit from both men and women. Dress with flowery shirt, M&S jacket and knee high boots. It's made me giddy! When we finish finding Shop's haul, I need new boots. I can't do another winter of bitching about the LKBs!

I have been v sensible today. Pension contribution paid, isa one done (and it's not even the 5th April!!!) and paid annual lump sum of mortgage. I can go back to normal stuff nowGrin

OneLittleLady · 22/01/2015 22:23

i meant to say earlier, don't get disheartened Karbea you will find things, i bet it's just a bit of a shock now looking for specific colours you aren't used to looking for.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/01/2015 22:24

Lots of US companies trade through Ireland in the UK, Google for instance. To do with tax laws. Not sure if that applies to Barneys but it's not necessarily suspicious. Hope it gets sorted, did you also order from the other site before you realised? :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/01/2015 22:29

Oops obviously that was for shop.

novice 14th march! Outfit sounds lovely. And must be so satisfying to get all that financial stuff done.

libertychick · 22/01/2015 22:34

I could do a deal for you on my used twice DVF evening bag Shop Wink. I am very, very happy with the necklace Thanks. Exciting re new bag, I am Grin at the speed of ordering so DH can't change his mind.

And Flowers for you one. That statement necklace is perfect! And I love the bird earrings. You sent a lot more than I was expecting, will definitely keep me going until I can can afford some real gold jewellery. You're a star Smile

Karbea I have been feeling that way too. I am so used to wearing black and grey that I almost feel I have to retrain my eye. Thanks to the swop session with Shop I have enough to tide me over until I get into the swing of my new colours.

OneLittleLady · 22/01/2015 22:42

Glad you like it lib i knew it was autumn colours so would be right for you. No idea what possessed me to buy it for me, it was all wrong on me! the birds are cute aren't they Smile

Karbea · 22/01/2015 22:48

lib it's very weird to go into a shop and not look at everything! not look at the things you like! but to basically disregard 90% of the shop without even looking at it because it's black or pastel.
I'm slightly worried I'm going to end up looking like a sludgy green version of kermit.

Karbea · 22/01/2015 22:48

Ignore the !s

BrandyAlexander · 22/01/2015 22:51

Karbea not possible you're stunning!

thanks Blair, i shall actually put it in my diary this time!!

BrandyAlexander · 22/01/2015 22:55

Blair yy to the financial stuff. first time ever i won't be panicking in April! Shock basically dh will mostly leave my spending alone provided I do those three things so it's v important!

MarshaBrady · 22/01/2015 22:58

Shop hope they work it out.

Karbea keep using that de Manta what ever you do.

I have ordered this for summer possibly. Inspired the more adventurous on here I thought I'd try something new for me. It was only £30ish, though on sale, so not too bad.

libertychick · 22/01/2015 23:08

You won't Karbea. I'm finding it quite nice to be able to ignore most of the stuff in the shops - cuts down on the time spent browsing and helps me feel a bit calmer. One of the things I got from Shop was a basic cream APC sweater and I'm finding it really useful. I can wear it with jeans or with black skirt or trousers, add some gold jewellery and a scarf and I'm good to go.

libertychick · 22/01/2015 23:09

Well done on the skirt Marsha Smile. It's lovely.

MarshaBrady · 22/01/2015 23:10

Thanks Lib you were a good inspiration. I'm really out of the shopping zone atm, finding it hard! Although probably better for my account.

Drywhiteplease · 22/01/2015 23:10

Impressive shopping list. Impressive speed of purchase too! You MUST get the pashli if it's the one you've always wanted lovely. Love your DH.

Fab fab evening tonight. Discovered a lovely new restaurant with excellent food and beautiful interiors. A lady accidentally picked my coat and almost had it on before noticing it wasn't hers Shock I was going to give her until she did up buttons before I shouted Shock

Karbea have a look at Massimo Dutti - lots of autumnal colours and not too £££ so you can test the look out.

OneLittleLady · 22/01/2015 23:16

oh, I hope there wasn't too much untangling to do Lib! I forgot i'd put a few extra bits in til just now. no sense me keeping them when i never wore them

i'm in terrible pain tonight, i can tell it's going to be a bad night already. my final lot of equipment comes tomorrow so i reckon i might be busy over the weekend making some music Grin Grin

libertychick · 22/01/2015 23:23

I hope you do get some sleep One. I might customise some of what you sent me, I think the little owl pendant might work well as a brooch on a gold pin, will be fun!

OneLittleLady · 22/01/2015 23:35

customize away lib you are of course free to do whatever you want with what i sent to you. i can see the owl working as a brooch actually, it'd be really sweet Smile

muddlingalongquitenicely · 23/01/2015 06:31

Feeling a lot better in today's colours plum pencin skirt with black slash necked fine knitted jumper, opaques and black wedge court shoes.
DH mentioned last night (out of the blue) isnt it time i got some new make up brushes. The last set he bought me was a red earth set and never felt like i used all the brushes. Wiuld the core real techniques be a good base set and the eye set or buy separate brushes from a differebt brand?

muddlingalongquitenicely · 23/01/2015 07:20

Sorry another question
I was looking at the Esprit website last night and found some slouchy loose fitting shirts. Would you recommend clothes from here?

LinusDKD · 23/01/2015 07:36

Morning!

muddling Real Techniques have just brought out some 'premium' brushes, maybe have a look at that?

I have one of their standard face brushes (expert face?) and it's nice but I don't use it very often as I like to use my fingers.

And Esprit have some nice things but, like most high street shops, use a lot of manmade fibers so check the label!

Being stuck inside with a poorly DS (he's better today) this week has made me lose my fashion mojo Wink a bit so today I am dressed for comfort again.

Leigh skinnies, bikers, black Uniqlo merino jumper on top of a bright blue J Crew painter tee and my new Etro scarf for warmth.

If anyone sees a pair of discounted Paige Hoxton skinnies in a dark wash, please let me know. My Leighs are starting to look tired from all the washing and I fancy trying the Hoxtons as lib loves them so much.

shopafrolic · 23/01/2015 08:16

Morning all.
Linus I'll keep an eye out.
Dry I'm worried he'll wake today and think it was all a dream!
Karbea I love the fact that I can disregard lots in a store. Longer term you'll find it makes shopping much easier. No need to live in green as an Autumn, reds, oranges, turquoises. It's less limiting than you might think I promise how does Novice know you're beautiful? Did I miss a pic?
