this I really like the shirt poking out under boxy sweater look. Would do it with animal print slippers and red pointy flats when I find them

Particularly love that first look Dry. Both are good, with slightly shorter on the shirt in the second

That's good One!

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 17:42

thansk marsha I'm really pleased. I'm trying to build a good wardrobe of accessories that I enjoy wearing as I'm very bad for not finishing an outfit off because i was buying the wrong stuff or stuff i didn't really like because it was there. plus I'm not really the right height or shape for the bulk of actual designer clothes so accessories give me the look i want but i don't have to worry about them not fitting me

BrandyAlexander · 21/01/2015 19:09

Hello everyone!

Cold isn't it?! On days like this, those me&em dresses are got last year are brilliant. Warm fashionable and (at sales prices) cheap. What's not to like?Grin

Shop, just one more day now. Hurray! QueenC poor you. In the middle of my crap week last week my period arrived. A week early. I almost cried!

Marsha and Shops styles are like a different planet to mine because they are so tall (those legs!!) so can wear v different things to me. Also Lib's style is v different to mine. Can't put my finger on how I would describe it. She looks great but it would look tragic on me! Sleep does rock chick so well. I could see myself trying that and looking like a right idiot!!! I think Dry and QueenC's styles are similar to mine but love how there is stuff they can make look lovely, but I think would look frumpy on me! I could go on...!Grin

muddlingalongquitenicely · 21/01/2015 19:57

Sitting watching chocolat when i should be doing 30 day shred but falling in love with some of the outfits

Karbea · 21/01/2015 20:49

queen I have my eyebrows waxed at least once a month. I also over plucked them a while ago and grew them and then had Shavata shape them, since then I just get my local lady to keep the shape, I imagine it's miles away from what Shavata first did, but I'm happy with them. Do you have fake eyelashes? How do you get on with them?
mara tbh I'm in a black rut and I've noticed how much better I look in some of the autumn colours.

I've sent my hoc style day for 26th feb, I'm going to have to buy some things, I'm less sure I'll keep to whatever style she suggests as I tend to dress for the occasion rather than a particular style, but we will see.

Anyway day 10 yoga done :)

QueenCardigan · 21/01/2015 21:32

karbea I just get them dyed blue black. They're a little intense for the first day or two and then I love them. So much easier than mascara. Thanks for all the eyebrow advice. lib you're right in that it's probably only me that can see the v fine blonde hairs. I guess I'll just stick to what I do. I do have tweezerman great for also getting out those pesky chin hairs which are fab but still not great for the really fine hairs.

dry did you keep the reiss White shirt?

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 21:37

QueenC I have lots of very fine hairs, so long as they stay blonde, I leave them alone. I just pull out the dark ones as they are very obvious against my very fair skin. I discovered last week a white eyebrow hair Shock that didn't stay there for long Wink

Feeling a lot happier with the accessories I have now. I spent roughly £20 on some sterling silver earrings, including a set of different sized hoops and this past week or so is the first time I've worn earrings every day for years. I know my watch is gold toned on the metal parts but it's such a small part of my overall look that I can get away with it especially as it's a rather bright tone rather than a duller one, if that makes sense?

Feeling confident in my ability to not buy clothes for a while as well. It feels good to go 'shopping' in my wardrobe every morning and I've found a few bits I'd forgotten I had so it's like having new clothes anyway

Karbea · 21/01/2015 21:46

queen how long does it last?

one I still need to get some gold! I'll definitely still wear silver coloured jewellery too.

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 21:50

karbea if you do costume jewellery at all, topshop and miss selfridge have really good selections that aren't too expensive. Miss selfridge tends to edge on the 'prettier' side while topshop is a bit more 'fashion', IYKWIM

Karbea · 21/01/2015 21:58

one thank you! I will take a look. I want to get a proper gold pair of basic studs that I can just leave in, but will definitely need to get some new costume jewellery.

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 22:05

for a cheap and cheerful scarf fix as well Karbea you can't go wrong in Primark or new look. they always have colours in i'd definitely describe as 'autumn' and they will give you the colours you need near your face without you having to buy too much new before your style day. They aren't amazing in terms of quality but they do last a long time and wash well. They could be a bit of a pick me up and perk me up thing before you go all out after your style day perhaps?

Drywhiteplease · 21/01/2015 22:20

QueenC the Reiss shirt went back because it was too see through sadly as it was perfect in every way. I've picked up this one which I wore today. Love the scalloped collar. Thicker stretch cotton, not as good a fit as the Reiss one but nice and cheaper too.
Karbea I wear gold. It's annoying because gold costume stuff tends to tarnish easily and the real stuff is pricey.

Karbea someone linked (Sleep?) this website I'd love some of their stuff

Evening!
And thank you all ,your posts made my day and I'm Blush, don't think I'm all that,
For me,I would like shop or marshas height, mainly so I could look dh straight in the eye,Grin also I would really like to dress like someone the total opposite of me, like dry or novice, although I will miserably fail,

queen I only use tweezers,I have thick eyebrows, but thank god they are a nice shape, I just do a bit of cleaning and try to make them look neat.

shop great news about your spring trip, how is the bidding going?

one that's a bargain!

linus hope your ds is doing better,

karbea 10 days of birkam is impressive,

Drywhiteplease · 21/01/2015 23:05

Yes - c300 is too many items - so have finally packed up all my old (dated) work suits, maternity clothes & old t-shirts today to go to charity. That has brought me in under 200 items now which I am much happier with. Would love a walk in wardrobe like this - so serene & so out of my reach!
Wish I hadn't chucked my cardigans now I have seen this as a way to wear them.
Found some good lookalikies tonight:
Sam Edelman Pettys
Isabel Marant Crisi
Toga Pulla Boots
Hush Star Jumper
Great bargain One

Drywhiteplease · 22/01/2015 07:55

LinusDKD · 22/01/2015 09:43

Morning!

DS hasn't had a fever today yet so fingers crossed but DD has a nasty cough now. Can't wait for DH to come home tomorrow!

Re. eyebrows, I have had them threaded in the past with ok results but I don't have anyone local who does threading so my brows have been 'au naturel' for ages now. If I remember I pluck the strays but tbh they are a bit messy now.

I do have a great pair of tweezers that are better than Tweezerman imho. They are by a Swiss brand called Rubis and were recommended on Sali Hughes' blog in The Guardian ages ago.

queenc I recently started having this totally random coarse black hair on my cheek next to my ear Shock and these tweezers get rid of it even when it's very short.

maradesbois · 22/01/2015 11:06

Morning Voguettes,

Linus I get 2 random coarse black hairs on my neck, one on each side, very strange. No matter how many times I pluck them they grow back whereas if you over pluck your eyebrows they just stop growing completely. Can any of the medics amongst you explain that??

Whatto how I would love a dressing room or walk in wardrobe. Well done on your cull, must have been very cathartic.

Am starting to hmm about bright yellow jumper purchase of yesterday. It is maybe a bit too close to something my dad would wear on the golf course. Think pale denim may be the way to balance it, need to try.

Tensions are running high in our household. Have been really stressed this week about impending move and blew up at dh last night for something that wasn't much of his making, just the straw that broke the camel's back Sad Blush. Anyway, nice day today, all is well again and we're going out for lunch. Am wearing a brown silk Marni dress with star pattern and black patent ferragamo flats with opaques. It's my go-to smartish daytime outfit, love it.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 22/01/2015 12:19

Feeling meh today wearing a lightish tan suede skirt with a hankerchief hem (I thinks its called) with cream jumper and heeled brown knee high boots. I caught myself in the mirror at work and i just thought what were you thinking the skirt feels dated and too light to wear with the jumper so hiding in my office till home time Sad

OneLittleLady · 22/01/2015 12:56

dress has arrived Shop and fits beautifully. thank you very much Thanks

Waiting for a collection so can't go anywhere until the courier has been but I'm getting a bit antsy being stuck indoors. I'd like to just go and people watch but until the courier arrives, I have to stay in

Wearing a black and white bow print skirt, black tights, dark grey acid wash Johnny Bravo mens tee that i cut up and a red cashmere cardigan

Karbea · 22/01/2015 13:24

whatto nice wardrobe.

I think I might go to westfield this afternoon and spend some money, into a huge amount just a couple of bits to keep me going.

Day 11 - done!
