Thanks liberty i dont really know much about clothes shopping in London but really looking forward to the weekend. Im trying to get organised before hand.
Get my colours done, buy a couple of basic french inspired outfits for shopping/relaxing around London.

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2015 21:10

Good question One! I'm going to ponder, it will probably be someone very different like yours or Amber.

libertychick · 20/01/2015 21:18

Good question One. For me it would either be novice for all the bling or santa for the chance to wear a Chanel jacket with a Chanel bag Smile

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2015 21:22

Yes or Santa for the box bag. That would be fab.

QueenCardigan · 20/01/2015 21:36

I'd be shop because I want to try leather leggings as I reckon they'd look hilarious on me.

muddling whenever I shop in London prior to meet ups I do regent street. As liberty says there's every high St store you need-cos, banana republic, anthropologie, other stories, j crew, uniqlo. Otherwise if you want more high end then possibly Knightsbridge/Sloane street?

liberty that red cardi with the red thrills is divine but I've decided red isn't really me. Don't worry about sending the burgundy cardi to charity as it was too dark for me anyway.

shopafrolic · 20/01/2015 21:40

I try Marsha's style every day. I don't pull it off. Would like to be more swish like Dry but my ultimate goal is THE SANTA

muddlingalongquitenicely · 20/01/2015 21:40

DH idea is go to westfield first as cant check in to the hotel till 2 then go round some shops then change, meal, theatre, drinks afterwards. Then saturday more perusing of shops before checking out as need to be back for youngest

shopafrolic · 20/01/2015 21:41

What everyone else said about Regent's St or if you're short on time then just hit Selfridges

LinusDKD · 20/01/2015 21:42

Good question one!

It'd either be marsha off-duty supermodel style but only if I can have the long legs for one day or santa's sophisticated but laid back Euro chic look.

Karbea · 20/01/2015 21:52

Evening ladies, I'll have to wait till I've met you all until I can answer that one.
I'm stressing myself out with regard yo the colours. I really want to buy some things but can't find anything in any autumn colours that I like, my stupid brain only seems to be attracted to black things. I desperately need new clothes :(

justasecond · 20/01/2015 21:55

I would defo be Novice for the jewels, handbags and power dressing Grin Also One for the colour and quirky stuff.
Marsha hope you have recovered from yesterday, it did make me laugh, Surely it was not as bad as feet???
Lib its lovely that the colours thing is really working for you and great swapping with Shop. I remember the fuschia Cos jumper,I loved it and bought it too but the colour made me look really ill it bought out the yellow in my skin really badly. I guess I am defo not a winter.
Shop holiday sounds amazing, lucky you.
Muddlin if I go shopping in London I usually do the same bits as Lib a good range of shops close together or you could try Westfield?
I keep reading about the return of wide leg trousers/flared jeans and it is making me panic a bit, is it finally happening? the death of the skinny bottom half??

Drywhiteplease · 20/01/2015 22:04

limpnus J Crew looks v promising...how did I miss that?
What thanks so much for the time you spent. You have the general idea. I have a black, basic, shorter crew neck. Am looking for boxy, not quite tunic, that I can layer over a shirt or wear on it's own.

Style hmm....Shop because I'd like too see the world from up there! and the fierce black leather leggings, very cool, sharp look and her hair dresser. Amber because we are polar opposites but funnily enough I've been inspired to buy a few of your recommendations.

limpus Grin !!!!! So sorry, but it's funny

And Whatto although I wouldn't call my wardrobe minimalist, it is very camel, grey, black, cream, white based....I have a lot of those items with coloured highlights. Although I like prints, I find them tricky, so stick to stripes and the occasional spot....genes must be strong Fr mother

muddlingalongquitenicely · 20/01/2015 22:20

Im not so sure on the return of the wide leg as well Just not sure it would work with my short and booby figure.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/01/2015 22:23

I would try santa's style because luxe casual is something I want to master and that's how I imagine her style :)

Karbea can you hold out til after your style day? At least that way you won't make any mistakes. It won't speed up the process though, you might feel more indecisive at first afterwards! But you'll know what to avoid.

I have no idea how many items in my wardrobe - is 300 a lot? It sounds it but I don't think I have loads of clothes and I probably have at least 200 thinking about it. I'm doing Shop's suggestion of turning the hangers round to see what I wear.

LinusDKD · 21/01/2015 07:37

Morning!

Limpnus dry?! Lol!

So exciting about your trip shop, I bet you can't wait.

I could do with a holiday right now as DS is still ill (I think it might be the flu) and DH is traveling again

Yesterday I ordered a striped Chinti and Parker merino jumper in the NaP clearance sale. I had my eye on it for ages and at 70% off I couldn't resist. It is an xs so I hope it fits but C&P size big in my experience.

It's actually a jumper version of a Breton tee so I hope to wear it more in spring with my Jimmies and some ballet flats.

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2015 07:47

Morning! (I love having you all here)

That's a great buy Linus I'm tempted to have another look. And Thanks for such a lovely compliment you made my year day Grin

Justa on a par I reckon on a par. I'm nearly over it. Am still more aware though!

We need to book a holiday, just the four of us, but short haul in the summer months.

shopafrolic · 21/01/2015 08:08

Morning all. Fed up with DH being away now. So cold in this house with it's draughty windows.
Linus I hope DS feels better soon - he sounds everso poorly. Poor him and you. Have you got a link for the jumper? Sounds fab.
More sorting this morning, and hopefully EBaying if I have time. Lib and One parcels will be on their way.

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 09:27

thanks Shop Thanks

we've had some snow overnight and it's pretty chilly today. Don't think I'll be going out unless I have to. Sat snuggled in a woolly poncho right now with big thick thermal socks on

libertychick · 21/01/2015 09:51

Is DH back early or late tomorrow Shop?

I have a residential 4 day study thing starting this Saturday, need to sort out clothes and pack. The hotel is fairly close by, DH not looking forward to me being away for 3 nights. There is a tiny little bit of me that can't wait to have a hotel room all to myself even though the course programme is quite full on

OneLittleLady · 21/01/2015 09:53

Hope Ds is feeling better soon linus

When do you go on holiday Shop?

lib I bet a hotel room to yourself will be bliss. Dh can cope, it's only 3 nights!

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2015 09:55

Lib I can imagine. I have this terrible thing where I look forward to a hotel, I've only done it once for one night, and the blasted air con / heating system keeps me awake all night! Hope you don't have that.

Shop nearly there, pleased he's back tomorrow.

I thought a bit more about the question, and whilst I think Amber and One can and absolutely do rock their look my final answer is The Santa. Euro luxe

shopafrolic · 21/01/2015 10:08

DH back early eve tomorrow I think. Will be lovely to have him home. It's always a nice reset for our relationship IYSWIM - we realise we actually do love each other when we don't see each other for a while Grin
Listening to Mark Ronson's new album this morning - so funky. Remind me of Moonlighting, Taxi, and funk nights in Manchester clubs - awesome.
Santa I hope you realise you are now a style thing - like Normcore, or Boho. We all want to rock The Santa.
Club trip is in April One - during the holidays. DH said last night we'll extend by 3 nights so will be 6 nights in total. Bliss.

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2015 10:10

You know you've arrived when you have a The in front of your look. I laughed when I read it Shop, good one.
