Navy is a good idea, still getting used to navy! Maybe damson and berry would work too, not sure I could cope with pink and green though, am still fairly newly diagnosed as a jewel winter so struggling with the brights a bit! Thanks both

SilkStalkings · 09/02/2015 19:27

I'd wear purple and black with pine green myself.

applesandchairs · 09/02/2015 19:38

I don't have anything purple but maybe I need something!

SilkStalkings · 09/02/2015 20:50

You do! We look awesome in purpleGrin
If you're nervous about bright colours, just buy black tops and fabulous necklaces, hair clips, hats, shoes or scarves until you're more confident. Don't be afraid to mix and match them against the black - eg electric blue and shocking pink, true red and papal purple.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 09/02/2015 20:52

Primark is your friend for trying cheap tops. Grin

didireallysaythat · 09/02/2015 21:54

Purple ? No can do !

(Am I the only one who remembers "When I am an old woman I will wear purple"?)

Still, I like the makeup of some of the pallets here into-mind.com/2014/08/25/how-to-choose-a-versatile-colour-palette-for-your-wardrobe-incl-36-sample-colour-palettes/

If you can bear with my inability to put a use able link in at this time of day on my phone, I think there's a pallet for several " types " of winters - I think I might be a jewel winter from the kind support I've had here (my consultant didn't type seasons) but I can see my pallet and actually seeing my colours together (somehow linear in the wallet thing doesn't let me compare and contrast as well) is quite useful !

applesandchairs · 09/02/2015 22:10

Yes purple is one of my good colours, but it scares me! Could do a purple necklace though ...

winterdays · 09/02/2015 22:49

Hi bright as I love being a natural injenue. My friends all try to persuade me to wear very close fitting clothes but I feel really constrained in them. But I really love the natural Injenue clothes the HOC picked out for me. So foogle I would really recommend it I feel ten years younger
Queen Cardigan I will look at lands end as struggling to find one. Could you recommend any sites or shops that have a natural injenue type clothes
Sorrel it sounds a lovely outfit
Thank you for the welcome

winterdays · 09/02/2015 22:59

Oh I disn't phrase that right - it's been a long day. Queen Cardigan I'm glad you recommended lands end as I've been struggling to find one. How do they come up. I'm between a 12 and a 14

AsBrightAsAJewel · 09/02/2015 23:09

From what I remember they use American sizing, but I found they were pretty true to size once I'd taken that into account. However I don't like things too close fitting, so in most other shops I go up a size in teeshirts and fitted jumpers.

Ah see, having been a bit of a goth/indie kid black and purple have always been in my wardrobe Smile Love an edgy, show stopper look which is the benefit of Winter colouring.

QueenCardigan · 10/02/2015 10:12

winter I find landsend come up big. I'm an 6/8/10 and bought the smallest size but it's a little big. Next time I would try petite. Otherwise I get a few bits from white stuff and fat face as I like their tees and blouses. Cardigans I get from anywhere that I can find them-boden, HOF, landsend, next, mango etc. I have a few blouses/tops from esprit. Zara often have nice tops in if you like lace detailing.

mrpop thanks again for the lipstick. I got 2 compliments yesterday. 1 was from a 4 year old but I'll still take it! It's not quite in your face as the bright pinks I normally favour so I may invest in the soft burgundy one.

QueenCardigan · 10/02/2015 10:22

Forgot to add my comments to the green trousers. I love navy with pine green but depends whether that would be a bit dark for you. You could always add in a brighter belt? Or a bright blue top? Can you do stone/mole as that would probrably look good too.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 10/02/2015 12:36

LOVING the Magic Lips in Red. Seriously wow. Only had it on five minutes so more later.

Wasn't that keen on the Rimmel linked to up thread, it was too orangey on me.

SilkStalkings · 10/02/2015 12:41

It's amazing isn't it? Grin The green is still bright too but a bit less 'in your face.'

ItIsntJustAPhase · 10/02/2015 12:44

Oh, and it was £6 on Amazon.

NeitherHereOrThere · 10/02/2015 16:05

All this talk aboout pine green has give me the idea to wear my pine green LS top today (primark - as a PP has said, they have a huge range of colours) - with my black cashmere jumper and black moleskin skirt.

QueenCardigan · 10/02/2015 20:31

winter talk to me about what boots you wear. I'm fine in spring/summer with balls flats and sandals but really struggle finding something for winter.

SilkStalkings · 10/02/2015 21:08

Big chunky heeled goth boots hereSmile Currently a fantastically tough pair £25 from New Look last year - I wear out soles in a flash and these have lasted better than my more expensive real leather M&S ones. Ditto a pair of Matalan black patent fake Doc Martins. I'm giving up on 'quality' boots.

applesandchairs · 10/02/2015 21:12

I tried the green trousers with a navy top, it looked ok but being a jewel winter it was a bit dark. Looked good with berry but it just feels like too many colours for me, still getting used to all this! Actually though they so look better with mole than dark grey. Lighter grey is better too. I love the dark green but I'm not sure it's one of the easier colours to put with others!

ItIsntJustAPhase · 10/02/2015 21:36

I've just ordered a load of stuff from Lands End. Including a lobelia lightweight cardigan, a lobelia shell top, pink tshirts, a navy shift ponte dress, a navy and emerald dress, a red print cardigan and some other bits.

The 20% off code was HELLO and there were several things already in the sale in winter colours.

winterdays · 10/02/2015 22:49

Hi queen
I wear biker boots. After the style day I now wear shorter skirts or dresses, leggings worn as tights and the biker boots. Trying to mix the natural with the pretty.

NeitherHereOrThere · 11/02/2015 08:20

apples - try wearing a white blouse or top underneath or a bright scarf to provide a bit of relief from all the darkness.

fooogle · 11/02/2015 14:18

ordered this and this jumper to see if this can brighten me up a bit...
Had put in a grey silk blouse reduced to £10 but then waited and the things sold out before I checked out...Hey ho! Sad
apples where are your green trousers from? I find trousers hard to come by as I have odd what seem like size 14 hips/bum and then a 10 ish waist so things never seem to fit well.

QueenCardigan · 11/02/2015 15:40

I don't get on with biker boots at all. I need more delicate footwear hence why boots can be tricky.

Lovely necklace foogle
