Boden has a navy and white one if that's any good. Me and Em have this cobalt and white one that you may like

H&M often have these in - I would advise looking in store though.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 07/02/2015 12:44

I like the boden breton navy and white. here

carrie74 · 07/02/2015 13:44

Hi everyone! Sorry been quiet for quite a while, not really bought much of late, and have also changed jobs which has taken up loads of headspace, but now I've started, it's all going great and I'm not thinking about two jobs at once, hurrah!

So last month I bought a bright pink cashmere jumper from Gap in the sale, which has been great in this cold weather (I bought a grey one last winter, and it hasn't bobbled despite being worn A LOT. Great quality), then I had. Mini splurge in Zara with some black moto jeans (but zips in silver, so perfect colouring) and a cheap grey linen top with some black jewel bits stuck on.

I was in London this week for work, and despite spending two hours in Westfield, came away with nothing. I think it's the stores having new stuff in, but being too cold to wear it, but equally not wanting to buy anymore winter stuff as fed up with winter! Am also off to US at the end of next month, so holding back (although exchange rate is so bad at moment, I can't imagine there being many bargains).

I've just made a massive order of gym kit and some snake skin skater shoes from Gap using the Grazia 30% off, but imagine most of it will be going back (it has to: I don't 'need' that much gym stuff!!).

carrie74 · 07/02/2015 13:45

Oh, for Bretons, I'd TOTALLY get the Me&Em one (they have it in navy and white too), their quality is superb, love all their stuff.

SorrelForbes · 07/02/2015 16:18

That me & em top is lovely. Not sure on size as I'm a M in most places but I'm short with big boobs. M or L?

Meganhunt · 07/02/2015 16:56

Sorry haven't posted in a very long time! Sultry winter here. I got the me and em Breton tops last year and they come up true to size. Me and em are often generous with sizing.

Fairyliz · 07/02/2015 19:29

Oh that Me & Em breton is fab but a little expensive do they ever do discount codes?

fooogle · 07/02/2015 19:48

Think me and em do do some discount codes of you subscribe. They are pricey though aren't they.
I've had good Bretons from zara and matalan funnily enough, in the past...
Re foundations...I always seem to get yellow toned ones but know I should be more pink toned. When I wear yellow though I look yellow ish so wondered if the wearing cool colours kind of prevents bringing out the yellow ifyswim?! ramble

ItIsntJustAPhase · 08/02/2015 10:16

Btw, I have been meaning to say that I am loving midwash denim on the lower half. It makes for great contrast for me, and really makes a sort of Americana look that works for me as a dramatic gamine. So midwash jeans with red or breton too, navy jumper, and red converse is great. I like it for a more casual and fun look than grey skinnies would give me, so depends on my mood and occasion.

I wouldn't wear near my face, so I wouldn't wear a midwash denim jacket because it wouldn't suit me at all. Smile

AsBrightAsAJewel · 08/02/2015 17:22

Has anyone seen any of THESE in real life? I really like the last one, and the first might be useful for work. It says the colour is bright red, but its hard to tell on the screen whether it is too orangey a red for us winters. Thanks.

Another vote for Bare MineralsFairly Medium foundation - perfect colour on me and the only foundation I've ever had that doesn't give me that sudden dried out prune feeling 5mins after application. George at Asda primer is brilliant under it (or on it's own.)
Another winner for pale winters is Max Factor Masterpiece cream-to-powder eyeshadow in Pearl Beige. You wouldn't think it but it's great painted on up to the crease with just mascara on the top lashes only - quite a youthful/natural look.

SilkStalkings · 08/02/2015 17:36

My best lipstick is Ultraglow Magic Lips in Red - comes out an amazing hot pink that really lasts. If it's too bright you can wipe off the excess and leave it as a stain to go under other lipsticks. Quite hard to find irl but you can usually get it on EBay.

mimiasovitch · 08/02/2015 18:49

Bright - they all look quite orangey on my screen. Probably best to check them out in store.

QueenCardigan · 08/02/2015 19:39

bright they look quite orangey on my screen too.

AsBrightAsAJewel · 08/02/2015 21:43

Thanks mimiasovitch and Queen. I suspected as much, but I was hopeful it was my laptop distorting the colour. I won't bother ordering then (and it will save me £). I don't really need it, but was browsing online while the family were out and it caught my eye.

I thought they were nice but a tad orangey AsBright. I really struggle to it's finding tops for work that aren't polyester.

Ive just bought a long sleeve viscose and silk mix top from eBay in a bright blue and need another couple.

winterdays · 08/02/2015 22:16

Hi
I'm new on this thread but have been lurking.
I'm a winter jewel and a natural injenue.
I need an emerald cardigan to pull my outfits together and a lipstick to suit.
I have never really worn any lipstick so find the two house of colour ones flattery but a bit full on

AsBrightAsAJewel · 08/02/2015 23:39

Welcome winterdays I'm a jewel winter too, but a gamine ingénue. I've been diagnosed a while, but still getting to grips with it all when linked to what I feel suits my body shape (if only I could loose that last stone!). I love my diagnosis, but am trying really hard to not stick to just black and white or maybe navy or grey. I need more colour!

QueenCardigan · 09/02/2015 07:51

Hi winter I'm an ingenue natural. I got my emerald cardi from landsend.

SorrelForbes · 09/02/2015 09:54

Hi winterdays I'm a Jewel Winter too but a Romantic Classic. Basically, a bliingy parrot Grin

fooogle · 09/02/2015 17:33

sorrel I like the idea of a blingy parrot Grin Still putting off style day but no doubt will cave eventually...
Today, leather skirt (black), lobelia ish merino uniqlo crew, liberty silk scarf... Not sure I feel quite me but trying out new stuff. Feel bit lady of night in leather skirt Blush not in good way !

SorrelForbes · 09/02/2015 18:04

I toyed with the idea of a leather skirt but kept chickening out. I don't think I'm edgy enough really to avoid looking like Dorien in Birds of a Feather

applesandchairs · 09/02/2015 18:47

Hi winters, I've been reading this thread for a while but never posted but now I have a question! I've bought some nice cigarette trousers in a dark green, a shade in between the 2 darkest greens in our swatches but I'm stumped for what to wear with them. Black is ok, white is ok but surely there must be something else? I though grey would work but it's not great. What do any of you wear with pine green? Tia

NeitherHereOrThere · 09/02/2015 19:08

Navy? charcoal?

ItIsntJustAPhase · 09/02/2015 19:16

Damsons, berry, and pinks would be great. I would wear a white top peeking out from underneath for a contrast.
