So I am being a HOC rebel but I have decided I am just not comfortable in most bright lipstick.

So to that end, I have some lipsticks going spare-
-MAC plumful
-Revlon Just bitten kissable (pencil) in 005 Crush (burgundy / plum)
-HOC 54 Damson (bright pink)
-HOC 50 Soft Burgundy Rose

Am happy to post some pics on the thread. PM me if you would like some / all - which just like postage covered.

I am just sticking with the Revlon lip butters and tinted lipbalm for now!

Freezing cold atm and no fashion news to report - enjoying hearing about your outfits though.

Fooogle the jacket looks good. I have heard good things about Muu Baa though haven't tried myself.

fooogle · 29/01/2015 22:42

mimia pine green is tricky isn't it. Is it one of your ** colours? It's not actually that high on mine but I like it. It's funny considering I used to wear lots of yellow when I was a 'spring' I can tell that the winter colours that have a bit of yellow in (or maybe if I haven't got a good match) make me look yellow. When I was a spring I think that was what I thought I was meant to be brining out !
H and m vest is pine an option though!

QueenCardigan · 30/01/2015 09:39

Ooh mrpop could I have the hoc 50 please? May as well throw in the damson one too if no one else wants it. I'll pm you.

QueenCardigan · 30/01/2015 09:43

I love pine green too. I have a cardigan which is between dark emerald and pine green. I'd love a silky pine green top as the darker colours definitely look better with a shine to them on me.

Wearing grey top, jeans and damson cardi today with raspberry nails.

fooogle · 30/01/2015 09:55

Off to a memorial thing today so am in black. Surprisingly hard to make an outfit out of my bits of black. Have on a midi long sleeved shirt dress, brown Hmm knee boots, black dble breasted jacket from Austin reed and raspberry chunky loop snood thing. Feel a bit goth!

NeitherHereOrThere · 30/01/2015 11:00

Had an all black outfit yesterday (well apart from the damson nail polish and LS top which was covered by a black cashmere jumper) - had a meeting and with the snow I had to be practical and wear my best black jeans and boots. I think this kind of outfit works if the various pieces are made from different materials e.g leather, cashmere, denim etc.

neither think I may not be pulling it off like you. if casual was the thing I think I d be ok but felt I shouldn't wear my v comfy black skinny cords. Nevermind! Today sure no one ll give a monkeys

ItIsntJustAPhase · 30/01/2015 13:55

I just got a stainless steel ear cuff. So excited. It is an accessory, so counts as part of my style rules, but I found earrings didn't work for me at all, they really aged me. The cuff is in exactly the right place for my face shape etc. I love HOC.

I'm also wearing a stainless steel bangle all the time at the moment.

I am much too lazy/tired to choose new accessories daily so it is lovely to have these that work with all my outfits, I don't have to think about them, and they dress me up without making me look old or overdone. They give me deep deep joy.

Just need to get my watch mended now.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 30/01/2015 14:11

Oooh, and I finally moved all my mail stuff into the front room so I can do my nails while I watch TV. they are now a lovely shade of OPI's 'Got the blues for red' Which was recommended here. Thanks

Am wearing black highwaisted skinnies, whitening sleeved top with surprise favourite indigo/damson jumper from H&M this winter (now not stocked sadly). And an emerald green scarf cos it is freezing.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 30/01/2015 14:13

I tell a lie, the jumper is on sale now!

here

Totally makes my eyes ping, lovely shape.

pinkbadger · 30/01/2015 19:35

Oh MrPop is the MAC plumful still going?

mimiasovitch · 30/01/2015 19:52

Yes fooogle,it's a ** colour for me, like a lot of the darker shades. Shame really - I'm a frustrated jewel winter! I have managed to find some shantung silk in the perfect green, at only $15 a metre. Just got to hoard it for a while before I decide on what to make.

fooogle · 30/01/2015 21:09

Very impressed you'll make something mimi I have still got some liberty print cotton from last year I've not worked out what to make with nor do I really know how to do anything sewing wise

MrPop · 31/01/2015 13:32

Aargh sorry I went AWOL after offering lippies out.

So I made an error with the MAC one, it is actually craving not plumful. Fooogle has first dibs if she doesn't have it already, then Sorrel (imagine it may be a bit light for you tho??) then pinkbadger - so let me know if you want it now it's craving not plumful Blush

QueenC, I had given 50 away already but sent you 54 - no worries about postage as it was 70p Grin

QueenCardigan · 31/01/2015 17:47

Many thanks mrpop Flowers

mimiasovitch · 31/01/2015 18:08

If you have the fabric already you have to try something. Do you have enough for a top or a dress? I have some Liberty lawn I had for my birthday almost a year ago that I'm terrified of ruining. Mind you, its probably not the most perfect colourwise for me, so I should just jump straight in I guess. That means you do too!

ItIsntJustAPhase · 31/01/2015 19:52

I wonder if anyone has any top tips for raspberry, royal purple or lobelia tops/jumpers/cardigans? Ideally very plain and fitted, not flowing or ruffled. Best neck is scoop or low crew.

I have tried the woolovers jumper in rich rose and it is a bit too soft in colour... Maybe that is the wool? It ages me terribly if it is a dusty or soft tone, makes me go all jowly!

Thanks for any help.

didireallysaythat · 31/01/2015 20:36

ItIsnt Kettlewell has plain, if somewhat uninspiring, tops which might fit the bill ?

ItIsntJustAPhase · 31/01/2015 21:28

did of course! Thanks. Looks like they may be slightly longer length than previously so that is good.

QueenCardigan · 31/01/2015 21:40

<a class="break-all" href="http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/women%27s+knitwear/303,default,sc.html#www.houseoffraser.co.uk/women%27s+knitwear/303,default,sc.html?prefn1=Style&prefv1=Cardigan&ajaxsearchrefinement&brandTab=0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">cardigans. Also try uniqlo although not sure they have winter colours in at the moment and landsend.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 01/02/2015 08:10

Hello! Can you try and help me find a new purse/ wallet? My Radley grosvenor has stitching coming undone and i need to replace it as it looks scruffy.

Key requirements are
It must be a bright winter colour so I can find it easily in my handbag
Not be a zip around
Have space for at least 8 cards
Open up properly so I can see inside it
Be proper leather
Be under £100
No be frumpy. It amazes me how easily something as innocuous as a purse can be so frumpy.

didireallysaythat · 01/02/2015 10:21

Forsale I got a wallet from tkmaxx - they had some amazingly bright ones so maybe worth checking their website (the stores are so hit and miss)

QueenCardigan · 01/02/2015 12:43

this jumper looks a good colour

ItIsntJustAPhase · 01/02/2015 12:57

I got a fab oliliy wallet from tkmaxx, absolutely great. Not proper leather but bright, good quality, and a sort of hardwearing man made fabric that isn't pretending to be leather!
