foogle I wore them with rolled up jeans and a black lace top.

NeitherHereOrThere · 02/01/2015 09:37

I think Chambray/denim is a neutral but its a very natural looking material so may not suit classic/formal personality styles.

NowhereNow · 02/01/2015 15:59

I keep buying tops but really need trousers. I am pear shaped so prefer wide leg/flared trousers or straight (although I have one pair of jeggings that I wear with slouchy boots to try and balance out my hips). I really want a pair of bright blue straight jeans, has anyone seen any recently?

fooogle · 02/01/2015 18:27

Yeah neither, I have no clue for my clothing thing. I seem to like a collar though but would say eclectic taste though often in the convenient actual outfit of skinnies and a slouchy jumper...
Today I bought a hobbs grey boiled wool biker jacket...and a waffle knit light grey gap jumper. 9.95£ total charity splurge.

Winters, are you all hibernating?
Feel like I've been wearing a lot of charcoal, navy and even black. Wearing bright red lipstick often but not really being colour-y... Colbalt scarf though so...
How's about you?
I like Biker Boots moresnow though I don't know if I suit them. Hanker after a pair of 7 boot lane ones seen on a blog cursed blogs make me want all sorts of things
Today have navy stretchy midi dress, charcoal long cardi (below knee), black ankle books and sparkly grey nails. Not even red lippy!

NeitherHereOrThere · 05/01/2015 13:07

During the past couple of weeks I've been wearing a combination of wool/cashmere jumpers (in navy/damson/black) over brightly coloured LS tops & scarves/snoods with jeans - spent too much time on the sofa or walking to wear dresses/skirts but now that I'm back at work this week that will change.

Stokey · 05/01/2015 13:24

Morning winters, I've been wearing my pink Uniqlo jumper pretty much constantly.

I'm wearing it today with a burgundy tube skirt and black high-tops, oh and my navy & cobalt beanie & wristwarmers. It's really pepped up my wardrobe.

I've ordered this Boden navy cable knit too but may be a bit chunky. The Hush sale starts tomorrow and am eyeing up a couple of things there.

NeitherHereOrThere · 05/01/2015 13:59

I got this Boden navy nep cable jumper and its been a surprise favourite over Christmas as I am not really a big fan of cable knits as I don't need bulk on my top half. It is well fitting so maybe that's why it worked.

Its a very dark navy and the flecks of colours in it go well with the colours of my LS tops/scarves etc.

QueenCardigan · 05/01/2015 14:25

I'm here although the idea of hibernating sounds appealing. It was a shock to the system ding the school run this morning.

I'm wearing the same as always- grey or navy top with coloured cardigans. Today's outfit is grey lace tee and emerald cardi.

I need some sun though. I've realised I look much better and brighter with a slight tan and sun bleached hair. Although doesn't everyone? My skin has kind of taken on a sallow yellow look and my hair, although blonde just becomes dull looking. I put on Rimmel Funtime fuschia lipstick the morning but then caught sight of myself in a mirror later on and realised it looks awful. It's very blue toned and doesn't look good against my sallowness. I need to wear one of my more neutral lipsticks.

QueenCardigan · 05/01/2015 14:28

I bought this dress today but it may be too big. I need to try it on properly now I'm home.

didireallysaythat · 05/01/2015 15:33

Hibernating in black boots (now my only pair of boots so wearing them everyday day now - to be honest I've been wearing them most days since I bought them 3 years ago!), navy tights, dark denim mini, black vest, blue/grey shrug cardigan (summer colouring probably). Clear nail varnish but a pink pendant on my necklace and a smidge of lancome lipgloss 351 which looks way too pink to me.

Stokey · 05/01/2015 16:40

Oh I like that cable one too Neither, I may give it a go if mine is too chunky.

I know what you mean about intense pink right now QueenC, my skin is so pale it looks a bit garish. I bought the chubby stick just before Christmas and have been wearing that as it is not as intense but was thinking I may try a different colour. And since I'm in my fuschia jumper, reds don't really cut it!

Does anyone have any other chuby sticks (than the Peony Pink)? I do like it's moisture but would like a more subtle colour.

NeitherHereOrThere · 05/01/2015 17:49

Stokey - I do like the handknit jumper you have ordered, its trendy and different from other cable knits but I'm not the right shape for it.

I prefer to wear bright pink lipsticks and nail polishes in summer when I have a bit of a tan.

fooogle · 07/01/2015 13:16

I've got super strawberry (I think that's the one, sorry its at home at the mo') which is quite a gentle pink. Came free with a mag in the summer?
I'm still on reddy/pinks. Today have on Standout which is Revlon lip pencil. Meant to be red but seems to be a deep pink on me. Also Blush ordered NYC Snowwhite and LC008 from Kryolan. I must stop always feel I am searching for a perfect one that I will wear everyday? Also, how do you keep yours? I never really remember which I have as they are all thrown in a drawer and then you have to open each to know what they are etc...

QueenCardigan · 07/01/2015 18:50

Love both of those cable knits.

I've been poorly for the last couple of days and even a cobalt scarf couldn't make me look less shocking on the school run. Am hoping to feel better tomorrow and actually put some make up on.

didireallysaythat · 07/01/2015 23:32

Does anyone else recall their advisor telling them to get ready for the complements ? A year after, and admittedly not transforming overnight to just high scoring colours, I can honestly say no one had said anything. I've even upped the anti with bright lipsticks. Not a word. But this weekend I had 4 inches cut off my hair (not a great cut but it had been 11 months so somewhat overdue so I popped into the village hairdresser and they had a slot). And no one has noticed (apart from DH and to be fair I'd told him to look after the kids while I got my hair cut so he had warning!). And weirdly this makes me feel better - I think I hang out with people who don't notice/care much for appearances, and I find that quite a relief !! So I don't need to dress to impress, I nerd to dress for me, if you see what I mean. So I don't need to bother with clip on earrings to make me look more powerful, as the people I work with wouldn't notice if I was missing an ear !!

QueenCardigan · 08/01/2015 14:34

Grin at missing an ear! Seriously though, I never found the compliments forthcoming either and it's a bit disheartening as you say but equally like you I eouldnt want people fawning over me all of the time. It would be nice though sometimes to receive a compliment just to know that I don't look a complete weirdo. I do dress for myself but it'd be nice to know that people aren't mentioning the bright pink lipstick because I look like a clown!

didireallysaythat · 08/01/2015 15:45

Queen I couldn't agree more. I don't need to be showered with compliments but it would be nice to know my lippy doesn't make me look like the joker...

NeitherHereOrThere · 08/01/2015 17:54

Re compliments - what I have noticed are more compliments that are general i.e you look well/glam etc rather than specific ones such as nice lipstick, lovely top etc. I suppose this means I look more put together and groomed.

I've had a lot of compliments but they've all been about how groomed, elegant and well put together I'm looking these days (it's about bloody time really!). I seem to be able to pitch my outfit to the occasion better too.

I too struggled with lipstick at first but persevered (and made a lot of mistakes) and now feel naked without it.

QueenCardigan · 08/01/2015 21:20

moresnow which lipstick did you get from hoc? Personally I can see that lipstick makes a huge difference to how I look and can't believe that I wore natural coloured ones before. The best for me are bright pink, fairly neutral rather than too cool toned but not warm toned obviously. The lipstick does take some getting used to though.

Wrt the boots they do look a bit like damson so should tone in with everything else.
