Haha Belinda your expressions in the zara post are brilliant :)

margaritasbythesea · 02/07/2014 07:12

Ooo ooo. Tell me about the beige when it comes. I'm fairly sure it's the wrong colour for me but I want it!

CardiCorgi · 02/07/2014 08:59

Was it Belinda who recommended the Banana Republic Sloan crop trousers? Anyway, thanks, they actually fit better than anything else I have tried and are perfect for my "no dress code, but don't want to be completely casual" job.
I did a massive online order with several sizes of everything from Boden and Banana republic and while most of it has gone back, I did keep a couple of things.

My favourite photo in the Zara post is your Jungle outfit - those trousers and blazer should definitely not be worn together.

lurkingmurking · 02/07/2014 09:00

margaritas I love that silk top. What's the sizing like?

Littlepinkpear · 02/07/2014 09:16

The Zara jungle trousers and jacket are lovely separates but I just think Christopher Biggens when I see them together grin

Brillenbar If you can get to a shop, J-Crew discounts are far better in store than on line. The last skirt I bought was £20 cheaper in store.

margaritasbythesea · 02/07/2014 09:40

I would say it is pretty true to size. I am a 12 and the 12 did fit me. I chose to size up as I'm a 32F and it lifted the front of the shirt too much for my liking - but then I am also long bodied, (5'6") so that doesn't mean the shirt is too short.

The front sits at waist level and the back is longer. It's a loose ish fit. I saw it on a size 8ish petite woman and it looked ace on her too.

lurkingmurking · 02/07/2014 10:08

Perfect thanks!

lurkingaround · 02/07/2014 12:21

Hola all. Great to see another thread, I'm a dipper in and out, but am still here. No work purchases to report. I did buy Belinda's pretty Zara necklace, from the blog. I'm not really a big necklace gal, but I really like it. I have a couple of those wildly overpriced Whistles shell top thingys, and the necklace is perfect with them. And I wore it with a palin grey tee at the weekend. Loved it. Thanks Belinda!
Had a scout around Zara, saw nothing, and I couldn't stick the jumble of it. Have been looking at Reiss sale, a lot of their dresses are good for my shape. I haven't bought anything yet. I just need to be more focused more time!

Necklace

Merriboo · 02/07/2014 12:55

am going to have to be a shameless sheep and get that necklace Grin
I lurve statement ones and Zaras are fab designs and great quality for the price

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 02/07/2014 13:25

Just finished another Trying It On at Zara post, so have permitted myself a MN session. Assume I am not the only one who has to be strict w themselves and MN else don't get as much done as they should?

Re Zara necklace - lurking I really like that necklace (obviously!) - its quite "work appropriate" but the geometric Deco-esque aspects sharpen the pearls up a bit, I think. I find traditional pearl necklaces a bit conservative, so like to see them set differently. I get great use out of my necklaces, and they always get commented on - agree Meriboo re great quality for the price.

As an aside, I had an Accessorize voucher to use, and just baulked at spending more than Zara prices for plastic stones and cheaper settings. I do plan to buy the Monaco neon gem box clutch from Accessorize, when their sale starts (uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_19,acc_1.10/5892449900)

Margaritas (cheers) - I love & Other Stories. I am genuinely really impressed with the quality of their things, and really must go and try more of it on - I haven't actually done a Trying It On post from there, which is nonsense, given how much I rate some of their clothes, and especially their leather goods (my yellow cross body bag is down to pennies on a cost per wear basis).

Karl - pop of colour and heels with 7/8, statement necklace yada yada. I agree, but like some of that style, anyway. Although I also love monochrome, all black, animal print accessories and probably every other cliche going!

Stokey - whoa, I didn't know the J Crew reductions are better in store than online! I will have a look, soon, then.

Brillenbar - J Crew haven't exactly been impressed by my blogger importance - nada from them, but a friend tells me their codes.

myrtle - ha ha - thank you! I am not comfortable being photographed, even by myself, so let only the odd natural expression out, sticking w stony faced for the rest of the time. Maybe I need to take in a hip flask to help me relax Smile

pinkpear - the head to toe jungle print was a heinous fashion crime.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 02/07/2014 14:28

lurkingmurking - for holiday wear, have you looked at H&M? They have some lovely blouses that look just the thing, like:
www.hm.com/gb/product/31207?article=31207-A (cream viscose)
www.hm.com/gb/product/30880?article=30880-A (blue patterned viscose)
www.hm.com/gb/product/30382?article=30382-A (navy patterned viscose)
www.hm.com/gb/product/28382?article=28382-A (cotton!)
www.hm.com/gb/product/27442?article=27442-C £6!

Corgi - I can't take credit for the Banana Republic Sloane trousers - someone else recommended them. BR can be so good for workwear, can't it?!

Merriboo · 02/07/2014 15:06

just headed off for your latest post Belinda- i tried the same lime jacket at the weekend after failing to track down the yellow ones and like you said, loved the shape/fit/fabric but..oh my eyes!!!! its sooo loud, dayglo fluoro shriek at everyone bright Hmm

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 02/07/2014 15:19

I know - I almost winced at that bright green!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 02/07/2014 15:22

Funny thing - someone landed on my blog after doing a Google search for "changing room selfies nude girls". Really not sure that they would have found what they are looking for...

lurkingmurking · 02/07/2014 16:01

Thanks Belinda. I hit New Look at lunchtime (massive one on Bishopsgate) and they have some real gems amid the polyester.

I got a kimono affair to chuck on over my bikini and a really simple black jersey maxi dress.

lurkingaround · 02/07/2014 16:16

Hilarious Belinda! Changing room selfies nude girls!! Who would ever think? Gosh I feel more ignorant of the world's ways every day! All I never know. Gosh.
Meriboo you will love the necklace. Really easy to wear and looks great.

lurkingaround · 02/07/2014 16:17

*knew, not know

GretchenWiener · 02/07/2014 17:08

CHRIST

you google image it

EW EW EW will never sit on one of those chairs again

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 02/07/2014 17:32

Oh God, I really shouldn't have Googled that. I had no idea people used the change rooms for that [adds jumbo pack of anti bacterial wipes to bag].

Well, in other news, my J Crew order has been dispatched.

lurking - my cotton t shirts from New Look have been quite hard wearing and fit well. There are, indeed, gems to be had.

lurkingaround · 02/07/2014 17:40

EWWW! I can't believe I googled that! Sheesh, I will always wonder now in changing rooms. And yyy to the antibacterial wipes. Sheesh. Oh my.

GretchenWiener · 02/07/2014 18:03

link to t shirts pliz

GretchenWiener · 02/07/2014 18:03

its really odd what they do. isnt it? SMearing their arses against the mirrors.
At our local M&S they had someone who used to come and dump in one iirc

maybemyrtle · 02/07/2014 18:15

Belinda, is the skirt you're wearing in Zara part 5 the same one you mentioned in Zara part 4? It looks great, much more ££ than it is. Is it lined?

Merriboo · 02/07/2014 18:46

EEWWW!!! Wish I hadn't googled it!! Just wrong.
