Starting thread 3 already! Who knew we could make it to 2000 posts on pencil skirts and sensible footwear Grin

I too ordered the Celitas. Baa.
If I'm 12-14 what would my Tippi sizing be? And is that pale grey on sale the heather grey?
Has anyone seen a full skirt? Ordered the coast cobalt Dionysus but it's all gone. Sob.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/07/2014 21:13

Thanks Belinda. I think I'm a solid 10, so I will try the 2. Seems mad though!

Mother, yes it's the heather grey. I'm getting that one too. Baaa right back Grin

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 07/07/2014 21:14

The Celitas will be the MN calling card. Look down, and if you see Celitas, you know you are talking to a MN S&B regular. I like the sound of that.

I would have thought a M in the Tippi. I will ask Eve, hang on.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 07/07/2014 21:20

Eve on the AllWornOut blog wears M in her Tippi jumpers, and I think that is the size you need if you are 12-14. I wear S and I think that would only work for 12-14 if you want a fitted jumper.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 07/07/2014 21:22

Blair - the vanity sizing is ridiculous. Amusing for me to take size O, but not funny for genuinely petite women can't buy clothes that fit as things are too big.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/07/2014 21:40

I read this week that J Crew have introduced a size 000 - now I see why!

Littlepinkpear · 07/07/2014 22:13

My Celitas are staying, they are great Grin
Kat from DMBL40 has listed them as an A/W must have!
Good choice Belinda.

Looked again at that tippi and it seems to be a lighter grey than the heather. Thanks for the sizing info belinda and blair.
Funny how everyone's gone gaga for the Celitas!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/07/2014 22:27

Oh sorry I just looked again at J crew and you're right... there is another colour called heather grey. The one on sale is heather dove and is grey. Sorry to be confusing!!

Like the capsule wardrobe thought. In my ideal world I would have a capsule wardrobe. (Gretchen has dozed off I see...!) I love the concept and the ethics but in my real world I like clothes too much. My clothes buying has become more restrained lately. I could do better. I know a woman with a capsule wardrobe and I don't know how she does it. Wears the same ding dong all the time. I am fickle and love a change.

Nowt new on the clothes front. I'm feeling v short of time somehow.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 17:17

(Whsipers) Those Coast shoes are really not my sort of thing - am I still allowed on the thread? Glad you're all enjoying them though!

Has Gretchen woken up yet?

Something I do love (but won't be buying as a) it's polyester and b) it's expensive) is this skirt.

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 18:35

I agree it's a lovely skirt. But that's a crazy price for a high street polyester skirt. Clearly not everyone thinks so because it's almost sold out.

I like the Coast heels. Not for me tho.

Bearleigh · 08/07/2014 19:01

I have just seen someone who looked really chic. She was wearing a below knee length subtly-patterned skirt gathered on the waist with a short sleeved turtle neck tucked into it. Looking around almost everyone is wearing ? trousers with a jacket, so this outfit just looked so fresh and elegant. I wore skirts like that at university in ^^ the late 70 s but not with that sort of top of course.

Littlepinkpear · 08/07/2014 21:02

I really like that skirt Remus but agree on the price.

I love this Reiss top m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/reiss-gabriel-ruffle-shoulder-top-porcelain/p1569130?un_jtt_v_pdp=yes&un_jtt_v_from_product=un_product_22#page_loaded but it's poly so not summer wear.

That Reiss snakeskin skirt was blogged by Laura Fantacci on Wearing It. Today. Perhaps that's why it's sold out? Polyester skirts can be literally electrifying w the static and electric shocks they generate, esp in an office. I love snakeskin, though.

Now, since we are confessing, I don't like Clark's shoes. Still going to talk to me?

Bearleigh - it doesn't matter if that look has happened before, it just has to be "forgotten" for a little bit, for it then to look fresh and new again upon re-discovery, don't you think? I love the look you described, but have to be careful as big skirts swamp me and am too high waisted / shirt torso end to look anything but ridiculous w tops tucked in. In my mind, I have a lovely long, lean torso and swan neck so look divine in such outfits. The mirror tells me the cold hard truth.

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 21:12

Remus! Weren't you looking at those Whistles lovely flats?? They're on sale!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 21:13

Ahhh - haven't looked at WIT for ages, as got so tired of her trying to flog baby jewellery, or whatever it was. I have a couple of really old polyester work skirts (whistles-esque pleated ones)which are fine, but no way would I pay anywhere near that amount of money for them.

I'm on/off re Clarks - have found occasional gems there, but there are some really horrors and the sizing/slapdash service drive me bat-shit.

Love this full skirt, but Hobbs stuff crazily long on little me!

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 21:14

You should get them Remus. They're lovely. Someone buy them!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 21:15

And has anybody seen this bargain silk top irl?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 21:17

Lurking - oh they are lovely, aren't they? Just bought three new pairs of shoes though!

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 21:18

Haven't seen the silk top but it's a real bargain.

kikidee · 08/07/2014 21:19

Hello, I have been on holiday and have much to catch up on. I popped into M&S today and saw this dress which I really liked. I thought it was a bit Cos-ish in shape and print but I was between sizes so have left it for the moment, plus it's above the knee at the front so might look better with opaques. M&S are badging it as 'off duty' but definitely smart enough for work. Hope that might be useful to someone!

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 21:22

They are lovely shoes Remus. You and your 3 new pairs! The Whistles ones are lovely lovely lovely. Is there any way you could justify another purchase?!

Here they are for someone to buy. I'm itching but I really don't need them!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/07/2014 21:23

Stop it, Lurking! Don't tempt me - we have limited spare cash at the mo (but two of my new pairs were sale Converse and so don't really count as 'shoes' at all!). I cba with ordering online but if I see them in store, I'll try them on at least.

lurkingaround · 08/07/2014 21:25

That is a nice dress kiki.

I've also stopped looking at WIT. Feels a bit too much like she's all the time selling.
