pretty Broderie dress also in blue

Turquoiseblue · 30/06/2014 08:55

Ooh this is lovely tea

maradesbois · 30/06/2014 09:42

turq that maison scotch playsuit is on sale on asos at £64. Not sure about available sizes.

Stokey · 30/06/2014 09:44

Congratulations Blair very exciting

Love all the engagement ring tales - look forward to seeing them all in RL one day.

DH proposed to me with a Tiffany pebble choker as I have very small hands and he knew he wouldn't be able to get a ring the right size.

Then I told him I wanted a Sri Lankan sapphire for my engagement ring (as DM is Sri Lankan) so he went off and sourced one and got it made up for me. I love it - a central sapphire and a small diamond on each side in platinum (it did take him a year but was worth the wait!). I wear it all the time Turq

My only slight regret is getting a very plain wedding band, It is just a thin platinum one with a dip so the engagement ring can fit over it. It is fine but doesn't really work by itself.

Amber LoL at Marie, I'm now picturing you in your purple kitchen Grin

Stokey · 30/06/2014 09:47

Nice links Turq but I would play chicken with Anthropolgie. In their January sale, they eventually reduced things by 70% - I got 2 skirts reduced to £30 from £120 - so hopefully the price will go down further.

maradesbois · 30/06/2014 09:49

Morning all by the way,

Loving all this engagement ring chat. Would not expect amber and novice to have same taste but seems that each got what suits them best.

A little diamond cleaning tip I got from Chanel fine jewellery (am name dropping, didn't but anything): in between professional cleans polish on a low setting with an electric toothbrush (old head obv!)and a tiny bit of washing up liquid. They come up a treat!

AmberNectarine · 30/06/2014 10:02

I've got a blingy wedding ring as well - 7 diamonds. Only jewellery I really wear that isn't a random lobster/prawn/tiger so might as well go all out. Got a v low key proposal though - in bed Saturday morning DH turned to me and said 'shall we get married', I said 'alright'. The end.

shopafrolic · 30/06/2014 10:15

DH took me to the jewellers - I tried some on, he said "you can have that one if you want". We were engaged. How's that for romance? Hmm

MarshaBrady · 30/06/2014 10:15

Dh completely flumped on the question. Silly sausage.

Stokey · 30/06/2014 10:18

How did he manage that Marsha?

DH did very well. Beach check, sun setting over the sea check, couldn't go down on one knee as we were standing in the sea, but got a bottle of fizz after and went out with some friends in the old town, was lovely.

MarshaBrady · 30/06/2014 10:24

He got scared half way through (that I would say no, apparently) and said will you... marrakesh me. My face was a picture. The Marr bit really sounded like it was going to be marry of course. I think I hit him on the arm.

Then he had to ask me again properly but the moment of surprise was lost. Idiot. Might have to marry someone else to make up for it.

Wink just in case

Turquoiseblue · 30/06/2014 10:35

Grin Marsha, he must have been so nervous. Dh was absolutely shaking too. Don't know why there was no way I was letting that ring get away Wink.....

Turquoiseblue · 30/06/2014 10:39

Stokey - thanks for the tip. Am waiting.
Found the playsuit in local store here, might pop in for a try on. Not had good asos experiences, but thanks.
Have also been going through this weekend s shopping - keeping gap khakis and t shirts great for day wear and needed a few bits.
Need to decide on JP dress from a few weeks ago. Need to return now if doing so. A little unsure about it.

BrandyAlexander · 30/06/2014 10:40

See! See! I knew I could draw out Amber! Grin Grin Your ring sounds lovely by the way. Can't wait to see it as some point. Unless it's in your blog and I never pay attention properly to them Blush.

I always wear a blingy ring but on my right hand. Todays one is this Swaroski ring

My proposal was a total surprise! I had already decided that if he asked i would say yes. And in the moment, I had this thought of "this thing i really want (to be married to him) is here, what if it's not for real?". So with dh on one knee nervously holding my dream ring in front of me, I looked at him and said Is this a joke?. He says no and I say Are you sure?. Dh isn't even a jokey kind of person!!! BlushBlush.

MarshaBrady · 30/06/2014 10:40

Grin Turq, brilliant. Exactly!

Congrats blair yay! A MNV wedding!

dry ,I really want to know how the pork turned out? Was it a success?

I didn't like my ring at first Blush, its too classic .but now I absolutely love it! And would never exchange with anything,

He proposed to me after we had dinner and was washing the dishes! Yes tres romantic! I absolutely had no idea and thought that when he got on his knee that he was in pain, he had a knee injury a few years ago and needed surgery and he used to get alot of discomfort, so when I saw him like that I said" hang on I will get the ice pack"

Stokey · 30/06/2014 11:50

LoL Santa these stories are hilarious.

And I love "Will you Marrakesh me".. sounds like code for some dodgy sex game.

I thought my ring was too big at first Shock and Dh had hid it in a piece of cake so it was all covered in icing and I nearly broke my tooth on it

AmberNectarine · 30/06/2014 12:28

Not a great photo novice, but here it is. Is way too big now, need to get it made smaller as it keeps slipping off and terrifying me!

AmberNectarine · 30/06/2014 12:29

Laughing at 'hang on will get the ice pack'!

BrandyAlexander · 30/06/2014 12:34

Oh I love it Amber! A friend of mine has a beautiful sapphire just like that as well. Hers from the 80s when it was all the rage but I have adored it for a long time.

I am loving all these engagement stories :)

By the way, Shop thank you for pointing out the obvious re my banking, i.e. given the companies I should get much better. I wasn't really thinking that way (really silly of me), but after I saw your post, I sent an email to my personal banker and have already got a response.

Decameron · 30/06/2014 12:42

Congratulations, Blair!

I absolutely love your ring, Amber.

Good buy on the jeans, Shop.

The house was not good but I've seen another so think I will go and see it this weekend. My turn to leave DH with the kids.

I always wear my mother's/grandmother's sapphire ring on my right hand. I picked out my own ring (went shopping with my aunt not DH, he was at a rugby match), so I do like it! It's antique and I lost a stone a week after I got it, had to be reset. DH was drunk I think when he asked me but remembered the next day. Not romantic at all but I'm not either.

Mara, yes, PM me! I was stuck in traffic in Brook Green the other day and thinking of you and the school there.

Took the kids to Westfield on Sat (I really prefer going on my own!) and bought this bag, I like the three pockets. Also ordered this dress from the White Co. There is an extra 10% off sales prices with the code AD586.

MarshaBrady · 30/06/2014 12:44

Santa that is so funny, I laughed out loud when I read that. Grin

Great ring Amber

Shop fab skinnies.
