Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

Belinda, finally caught up on my Bloglovin during the night feeds.

The Corporate Events II post was excellent, not a single thing I thought was out of place and I would happily have bought it all. Some really lovely recommendations. Oh to have somewhere grown up to go (peppa Pig live in July...)

If I put your blog next to WIT I would put yours as my favourite. You just need the trips to Paris and Ibiza to blog about Wink

lurkingaround · 24/06/2014 11:13

Thanks Belinda, that's so kind of you! It's the navy/black one, here. It's gone off the website. I really like it. Shame. Have zara started vanity sizing their stuff?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/06/2014 11:19

pinkpear - what a lovely, kind comment - I'm actually really touched, thank you! I'm so glad you like the post especially as it took hours and hours, and my aim is to have a good looking, but useful website. Thank you again. Yes, now where are my Ibiza and Paris invitations?!

lurking - OK, I will have a look around. Its not at High St Kensington, and its not at Whiteleys, Bayswater. Do keep an eye on the website, as, no doubt, people will have ordered multiple sizes to try it. If you call customer services and they say its at Brompton Road or an Oxford St branch (they can check on their computer system), then I can get it from you there, too.

Thanks so much Belinda.

No sign of Mango yet. There's a surprise Hmm

lurkingaround · 24/06/2014 12:16

Well surprise of surprises. My Mango jacket has just arrived. I'm at home today, and I was at home when the delivery guy called. How often does that happen?! So I have it on and hmmmm I'm not sure. I know! I'm really having a poor hit rate this summer! Size M is fine, the colour is okay, but it's quite a boxy cut, and I prefer a little shape (being of the pear shapely shape). I have it on over a jersey sundress, so will try on tonight with proper clothes for the kids and DH. I really would like a white/neutral jacket.

lurkingaround · 24/06/2014 12:56

Sorry forgot the link to jacket: shop.mango.com/GB/p0/women/clothing/jackets/frayed-detail-boucle-jacket/?id=21080191_N1&n=1&s=prendas.chaquetas&ident=0__0_1403609199111&ts=1403609199111.
Looking at it again, I probably should have ordered size S. Fgs. Gah! Online shopping. Tsk.

Littlepinkpear · 24/06/2014 14:04

Belinda if you ever need an Ibiza wing man just shout Grin

It's been 6 years but I still think I can get my way around / blag it Wink

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/06/2014 20:19

Well, I've never been to Ibiza, pinkpear, so, you know, I'd definitely need someone to show me the best bars around...

lurking online shopping can be so good. And it can be so annoying. [ignores immediately preceding point and reaches for debit card for Zara Home order]

I'm keeping an eye out for returns from Zara for jackets.
I didnt manage to get what I was looking for in the sale, but wasnt too miffed as one I had tried on recently appeared in the AW14 section..... only to promptly disappear Angry I managed to track the number and got one in store from the stockroom Grin
its this one they had it in pale blue in the sale..

Merriboo · 25/06/2014 11:26

Belinda I love Marks shoes at the mo. I had bunion surgery on both feet last year and though I'm just about back into heels, I have to be careful with fit and cushioning- Insolia and footglove options really help.
I've jsut got these for work as I have a few cobalt bits they will work with. [[http://www.marksandspencer.com/t-bar-court-shoes-with-insolia/p/p22298706?colour=White i'm tempted by these in either colour]]
these have been a godsend

lurkingmurking · 25/06/2014 11:53

Belinda the first jacket on your latest blog post (the H&M blue stripy one) is my latest work purchase - I feel quite smug that I got it right Grin

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 25/06/2014 14:08

lurking - I went to Brompton Road Zara this morning, and there was a good range of sale stock, but they don't have your jacket. I also went to Massimo Dutti, but they are doing some paltry reductions at the moment, so not tempted yet. I find their shoes to be very good, but I think their winter ranges are better than their summer ones.

meribooo - ouch, a friend had bunion surgery and was hobbling around for a bit. I totally agree re M&S shoes, the Insolia is blissfully comfortable and the Foxglove must give you the width you need right now. Glad you are on the mend. I love cobalt and also T-bar sandals (more flattering than ordinary ankle straps).

murking - Smile I also went into H&M and saw the jacket again - its a good one, isnt it?!

Boringly, I also bought H&M's invisible shoe liner sock things, which I am hopeful I can wear, as some of my flats start to feel a bit sweaty after much walking around, but I loathe seeing sock liners, so these cut away ones might be the answer. If they are, I will put them in my commuter post, as a sock liner might be a way to walk to work in flats, but also arrive with fresh feet.

It also looks great with light blue jeans and I wore it with a black jumpsuit for a night out - really versatile

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 25/06/2014 14:49

It should have a great cost per wear, then. Something I'm thinking more about, these days.

I love blazers with jeans, and am currently looking for some distressed white skinnies so I can look less pristine in my blazers.

i'm liking that jacket a lot- though it doesnt seem to be at either of my local H&Ms- would go nicely with my new cobalt shoes Grin
Belinda they are ok now, just not much padding inside my feet where they moved the bones, so I need it in my shoes. It was a tough time, but I'm glad now they are done!!

kikidee · 25/06/2014 17:41

Merriboo I've got those M&S T Bar shoes in the black and white pattern and have had several compliments on them. Not the comfiest though but I like them so much I'm pushing through the pain!

Merriboo · 25/06/2014 17:50

kikidee not comfy?? oh that's no good for me then!

lurkingaround · 25/06/2014 22:38

Thanks so much Belinda. It's not available around here either. I'll keep my eye on the website. I might even get into a real actual Zara tomorrow at lunchtime. And we'll see what next season brings.
H&M jacket is great.

Littlepinkpear · 26/06/2014 00:02

Lurking can you post a link to the Zara jacket again? I will be in the two in Glasgow tomorrow if you want me to look for you.

Brillenbar · 26/06/2014 07:06

There's an extra 24 PC off sale items in BR today online only code on website. Few nice things left including the ninah snakeskin heel

Some new bits in zara I like this coat www.zara.com/uk/en/collection-aw14/woman/outerwear/structured-coat-with-pockets-c269184p1984303.html and this trench www.zara.com/uk/en/collection-aw14/woman/outerwear/short-trench-coat-c269184p1983404.html

For the David lynch / nick cage fan this jacket would truly be an expression of your individuality .... www.zara.com/uk/en/collection-aw14/woman/outerwear/printed-blazer-c269184p2008059.html

NumptyNu · 26/06/2014 10:47

I'm such a novice. What is BR?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 26/06/2014 13:06

Banana Republic.

I'm preparing for the maternity workwear blog post. Oh dear me. I'd forgotten how awful and depressing maternity wear is. All the more so when you are looking at maternity workwear. Its like bridal dresses - another world where style is frequently left behind. Anyway, I plod on.

Here is the link to the navy and black Zara jacket that lurking is looking for in M: www.zara.com/uk/en/sale/woman/stock-clearance/collection/multicolor-woven-fabric-jacket-c555514p1823025.html

Brillenbar - love the look of that first ecru cotton coat. Its just the sort of thing I gravitate towards. I've seen a few beautifully groomed, wealthy women wearing simple Zara blazers and coats, and they look so chic. It made me realise that women of all budgets wear Zara. Ha ha re David Lynch blazer! I do love snakeskin print, I must say.

Belinda I am so tempted by the cream zara coat. It looks like the beautiful Goat Redgrave www.goatfashion.com/jackets-and-coats/redgrave-coat-nude-359 but it's not six hundred squids.
