Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

I think an 8 to 10 would be an s in zara.

I also like Sally Hansen. But not if you're then going to put your bare legs into wellies and go on the beach. That produces amusement all round when you take the wellies off and are left brown to the knee only, and the usual ghostly white below.

enormouse · 21/06/2014 17:56

Really fantastic to hear about that. I had retired my short dresses and skirts as I always wear them with opaques. But this will give me the confidence to wear them in summer.

Thanks. Though my mum would be aghast at me using a tanning product. She's Indian and of the generation that think the fairer the better.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2014 17:13

I seem to be allergic to my Clarins moisturiser and my legs have come out in an awful rash - don't think I dare risk putting anything else on them at the mo, but might try the spray stuff once they've calmed down.

In other news New dress

noddyholder · 22/06/2014 17:18

Love that I love dark florals like that. Like a Nick Cave video

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2014 17:23

Ooh yes - sadly, I am not Kylie-esque.

Littlepinkpear · 22/06/2014 18:25

Nice dress Remus, I really like that. Makes a good change from light florals too.

Also, DD2 spewed in my only black handbag today, so I'm now on the hunt for a new one. Sigh

kikidee · 22/06/2014 19:42

Hello, I popped in ages ago to ask some advice about black work trousers. I bought the Ziggy trousers from French Connection in the end which I'm very pleased with. Belinda made some very helpful suggestions. I think this is an excellent thread with lots of great ideas, but I find it hard to keep up! Anyway, I'm popping in again to ask advice on these shoes

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20357247] for wearing with the dreaded nude tights. I already have some nice Jones snakeskin heels but need something plain for wearing with patterned skirts or dresses. I'm just not totally sold on them but can still return them so I'd be grateful for opinions.

Also, Jigsaw have a very good accessories sale on at the moment. I've had my eye on an orangey red belt which is now half price. There are a lot of nice scarves and bags too.

And, on commuter shoes, I bought some flat pointed toe nude Autograph shoes today for summer commuting. Jury still out though. I love black ankle boots for winter commuting.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2014 19:47

Thanks, Pink - am really pleased with it.

Yuck re sick bag, though.

Link not working, Kiki.

kikidee · 22/06/2014 19:55

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20357247

Sorry Remus, think that's it now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2014 20:15

Ah - I tried those on in the black a month or two ago, and decided that I didn't like them. A strange shape - and the leather was really stiff and uncomfortable (though the suede might be softer, I guess). If you're not convinced, I think you should probably return them tbh.

Merriboo · 22/06/2014 20:23

I tried those on too, but agree with Remus-weirdly stiff and looked an odd shape on me.
love the dress Remus!! My friend has trousers in the same print.
Ohh yuck Pink poor you

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2014 20:41

I really wanted the trousers (posted on one of these threads, I think) but haven't managed to track them down irl until today, and they only had a 14 left.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/06/2014 20:54

Remus - another dark floral lover. Very lush.

kiki - glad you found some good trousers. Mmm, I find those Clark shoes quite unappealing - the shape is clumsy looking, IMO. I am a bit old fashioned, though, and like classically shaped shoes. How about the Dune Appoint taupe suede heels? They are a similar colour but have an elegant shape. I will have a look at the Autograph flats, soon. Their shoes can be fantastic.

Thanks for all comments on Clarks shoes, back to the shop they go!

I quite like the look of these instead. www.clarks.co.uk/p/26104237 and I'll go and have a look at those Appoints Belinda.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/06/2014 06:13

kiki - the a larks website is down, but will look at the link again soon. The Autograph nude flats look good: a little bit different from the norm. The Insolia inners they use are fantastic, I love wearing my Autograph ankle boots (I don't have any other of their shoes. Yet).

Not workwear, but I have just bought these shoes - obv they are very Rockstud inspired, but they aren't straight copies, and look sharper / fiercer to me than the Russell & Bromley Vixen Rockstud dupes (which they seem to have stopped doing) and the Sam Edelman dupes. Plus, they are £40 and are leather. My first Coast purchase www.coast-stores.com/celita-spike-shoe/sale-shoes/coast/fcp-product/6110025305?lng=&ctry=null

Love your piece on the Spanish queen Belinda. Nice to see a member of royalty wearing high street chic

(Sorry kate but LKB is still out of my price range)

lurkingaround · 23/06/2014 10:46

Your shoes from Coast are lovely Belinda. I agree, I prefer them to the Russell and Bromley ones. I never think of Coast when I'm shopping.

Love the dress and shoes.

No sign of my jackets yet. I'm becoming impatient. Haven't bought anything else except school uniforms. Actually I tell a lie. I bought this dress on hols. Nice irl. Nice shop.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/06/2014 16:58

Thanks, Stokey. Both Queen Letizia and Princess Mary of Denmark (a fellow Australian) have terrific style, I think. They always look so beautiful. I wonder if it's partly because they are carefully groomed and have perfect posture? They are both thin, which does help, but I think it's more than that. I'm afraid I find Kate Middleton's style just too conservative for my taste, although I do love LK Bennett, too.

Lurking - those Coast shoes are very eagerly awaited by me, but it's not a store I look at often, either, I must admit. Oh Bimba and Lola - I really enjoy going into their shops!

Those Coast shoes are fantastic Belinda!

Littlepinkpear · 23/06/2014 22:47

My &otherstories order arrived today, blimey the stuff is huge!

I'm a M/L in Zara and drowning in the two M tops that have arrived. Both lovely, both going back in hope of an exchange. Not likely in the sale stock.

All the way from Holland too.

lurkingaround · 23/06/2014 23:12

My Zara jacket arrived. Too big. I'm a small 12 on top, and ordered a L, in other jackets I've needed L. I love the jacket but it's definitely too big. And sold out in all sizes now. Why oh why do I not order multiple sizes?? Eh?? Esp with free delivery. I am annoyed with myself. Lesson learned again. Grr.

No sign of my Mango order. Well, that's no surprise

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/06/2014 05:49

Which Zara jacket do you need, Lurking, and I will look out for the M for you. Keep an eye on the site- they will start getting returns back again soon.

thanks, kiki - I'm really hopeful that they look as good in real life. They would be a prized purchase.
