Annoyingly it won't seem to link just 1 pair. They're called garbo ballet pumps in a silver/grey colour.

libertychick · 24/04/2014 15:11

I was wondering if you had that type of reaction One. People close to you can feel very threatened when they see someone else change. Also in my experience of losing weight it does come off my face first which can look a bit strange but once you settle at the right weight for yourself it all seems to even out IYSWIM. You are young and have great skin so I am sure your face looks great - I trust Sleep's opinion anyway!

libertychick · 24/04/2014 15:15

They are nice QueenC but I have not had good experience with that style of shoe - the elastic seems to dig into the back of my heel. Had to get rid of pairs like that from both Clarks and Dune. IMO they feel comfy at first then dig in as you wear them.

OneLittleLady · 24/04/2014 15:19

thanks liberty I'm by no means skinny or anything, just not as broad as I was. Will try and get some pics up on pin Smile

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2014 15:19

I lost a lot of weight a few years ago one (4st to be precise), and I got a bit of that. I think people can be pricks about weight loss sometimes and like liberty says, feel threatened. Don't pay any mind to it and be proud of what you've achieved, I'm sure you look fantastic!

OneLittleLady · 24/04/2014 15:24

wow, that's an achievement amber I've lost 2st 8lb so far and you can really tell, I can really tell and I'm not the greatest at seeing positives about myself. One friend in particular is being very catty about me losing weight, she keeps insisting that there's no possible way I can wear a smaller dress size as I have, and I quote, 'a huge ghetto arse'. For a start, saying that is just plain offensive and second of all, I don't see why it matters to her what dress size I wear, I hardly go around with the number stitched on the outside of my clothes! I've kinda distanced myself from her as the negativity I get from her brings me down and I just don't need people being toxic towards me for any reason

maradesbois · 24/04/2014 15:30

Hi all,

Haven't caught up on the thread properly as v bad wifi connection where we are so apologies for self-centred post!

Having a lovely holiday now we're finally in a warm and sunny place. Very glam but a bit ott, for example I saw a Gucci branded fiat500 in the supermarket car park yesterday complete with green and red striped soft top and double g's on the alloys!

Dh's birthday celebrations went well, was a trip down memory lane with old uni friends. Fab day in a lovely setting.

Tried out my cobalt tod's yesterday. Dh thinks the colour is too much but I love them. Think I've attached a pic, not sure.

Trying to get s

Wow Amber from your pictures I could not imagine you 4 stone heavier - very well done.

Good move distancing yourself from that 'friend' One. She sounds very rude.

maradesbois · 24/04/2014 15:33

Trying to get some work done but plenty of distractions like celine store, off for a (window) shop.

maradesbois · 24/04/2014 15:43

one just read your post about mean 'friend'. Think people like that don't like to see someone else's confidence grow as a result of something like losing weight. It all comes back to insecurity really & good that you're not letting people like that get to you.

libertychick · 24/04/2014 15:46

I love those Mara.

I have just ordered the ultimate Fugly sandals. I'm impressed with the Clarks service. No charge made when ordering on the website. They will text when they are in my local shop (within 5 days) and them you go and try on and buy them then if you like them! They hold them for 9 days in the shop for you.

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2014 16:16

I find it weird that people can be so mean. Surely friends should be proud of what you have achieved.

mara gorge shoes.
liberty I quite like those ones and I'm not normally a fan of the fugly shoe.

Drywhiteplease · 24/04/2014 17:24

"huge ghetto arese" what on earth? Shock you need to get nicer friends One.
I also think it takes people a while to get used to seeing people they know well looking thinner, rapid weight loss can be a shock to friends who don't see you often. You don't notice it yourself.
Yey Sleep... Can't believe I founfpd you 2 dresses. You're style is feminine/edgy isn't it? Hope they're nice IRL.

I definetly need to cut some 'friends' im not even sure I mind in the slightest Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 24/04/2014 18:39

The blue Karl dress is really lovely Dry, it's cut beautifully. Unfortunately I'm suffering a temporary state of easterholidaytummyitis, which doesn't look that great in the dress which is less forgiving than it looks Smile. I am going to try the KM one tomorrow and keep the Karl, try again next week when I should be my normal shape!

One I don't think anyone needs 'friends' like that.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/04/2014 19:26

Evening :) great shopping everyone. Love the Karl dress Sleep, you'll look fab. And the Tod's are to die for mara, amazing colour.

QueenC I like the Jones flats, need some like that but don't like bows etc.

Liberty those Clarks sandals are a bit too fugly for me Blush but I'm sure they will be really comfy.

got J crew catalogue today and read about Sophia Webster collaboration, some of the shoes are sooo nice. Read up on it online and of course it's totally out of my price range! Here

One your "friend" sounds jealous! You're fab and I bet your arse is too. :)

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2014 20:42

Who knew that HOF does jones shoes? I remembered that I had a voucher lurking in my wallet and my size was the last one left so it was fate and I just had to order them!

And now I really really have to stop buying. I've been mentally going through everything I've bought this year and it's a lot!

BrandyAlexander · 24/04/2014 20:47

Hello all, lovely links today and yesterday. I love the Michael Kors dress that Decam linked.

I think other than the shorts and skirt for holidays, I could end up going through April spending about £100!

One, I agree with everyone else! ignore the "friend". People will always comment. I remember when I was pregnant, people thought it gave them carte blanche to comment on my weight. As the old saying goes smile and nod, just smile and nod while mentally sticking pins in their voodoo dollWink

libertychick · 24/04/2014 20:53

Oh good one QueenC.
Don't speak too soon Novice, there is a whole week left in April!

Have kept meaning to say how lovely the KL dress is for Sleep - can really see you in it. And I love the MK one Decam linked too.

Drywhiteplease · 24/04/2014 21:05

I normally smile and nod if people are being annoying but recently came over all assertive and said to a rude lady
"You're very direct aren't you? Are you a Taurus ?"
That stumped her Smile may try it again.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 24/04/2014 21:10

Isn't it strange that people feel the need to be anything other than congratulatory when a friend makes positive changes? Pay them no heed One - you've done fabulously well and should be proud.

Mara - I have MAJOR shoe-envy. Everything about them is Luuuuurvly

I've just discovered a local vintage store that has an incredible Chanel collection - bags, pearls, the most amazing shoes - I'm afraid to go in, although I really, really want to. Whoever owns it has a great eye - brilliantly curated.

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2014 21:10

Lol Dry very good.

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2014 21:11

Oh god, dd is crying because of a sore nipple. She complained after school but as she hadn't worn a vest today we assumed that it's the emblem on her polo shirt rubbing/ chafing. Now I'm wondering whether it's her breast bud beginning to develop. She's only 8. I don't want her to grow up!

libertychick · 24/04/2014 21:17

It's probably the emblem rubbing QueenC. 8 is a bit young I hope
