Not impressed with products - spill all!

Are there any products you've bought which you just think that was a waste of bloody time and money?!

Now I love Bobbi Brown but this product - Rose Shimmer Brick has done NADA for me doesn't add any colour to my face nor use as an eyeshadow. In fact it's put me off these types of shimmery stuff.

Anyone else got anything they weren't impressed with?! Smile

Epic (and expensive) all time failure was a gel bronzer from Sisley, which cost an arm and leg, and is completely orange on me; plus their sample skin care products give me a rash. Most of the curly hair products are rubbish... I have a bathroom shelf full to prove it. Oh, and a box of mixed junk in the top of the wardrobe that I can't bring myself to throw away; you name it and I have probably got it!

coffeeinbed · 21/03/2014 17:18

This one's heading for the bin.
It's had its chances.

I did like their chubby sticks though.

MrsMaryCooper · 21/03/2014 17:24

I've just tried Nice n Easy's Age Defy dye it gives much worse grey coverage than the normal one. It has barely covered my grey at all. I'm going to have to dye my hair again....

BeaLola · 21/03/2014 18:22

Clarins double serum thing

Cleanse and Polish

8hr cream

Dermalogica EXCEPT daily microfoliant which I love

Pumpkinette · 21/03/2014 19:21

Burts bees lip balm - it has a horrid antiseptic taste and tingles too much.

Burts bees and salve- smells like antiseptic cream and is like using Vaseline on your hands instead of hand cream.

Superdrug own brand dry shampoo - very, very itchy.

ColorB4 hair dye remover - it removed the colour but ruined my hair. My hair now won't take dye at all and feels like straw (a year and a half on its still like this) and I need weekly protein treatments just so I can get a comb through it when wet. Can't wait til the damaged hair is all chopped out but my hair grows slow.

I am almost always dissapointed in Avon make up. (And yet I can't help but buy it when that book is put in front of me!)

I also have a lot of wasted products that I'm allergic to (tons of soap and glory bath products, lots of different brands shower gels/ shampoos & conditioners / body moisturisers.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/03/2014 19:25

Oh yes, Carmex lipalm, the original flavour, horrible taste and doesn't do much for my lips.

Lilymaid · 21/03/2014 19:33

Liz Earle make up - greasy, coarse and nasty. Love her (or should it be Avon's) skin care apart from the super range that reeks of castor oil.

Pumpkinette · 21/03/2014 19:35

*hand salve not and salve

bluebump · 21/03/2014 19:54

rockpink I loved that Beach Blonde range it was amazing. The surf spray actually worked, as did that heat activating stuff, I loved the minty smell and the shimmery looking shampoo. I never found anything that worked as well. I'm now a brunette Grin

I agree with some of the above, mainly the Benefit mascara, terrible.

TribbleWithoutATardis · 21/03/2014 19:58

I love C&P. I'm utterly underwhelmed by Clinique's blemish range though.

MaitreKarlsson · 21/03/2014 20:09

Clarins Blue Orchid facial oil which I bought recently after rave reviews everywhere - but it has such a strong scent of patchouli - plus my skin reacted really badly. £32 wasted...still annoying me when I see it on the shelf but can't bring myself to chuck it. Bought the una Brennan one - so far so much better!

squoosh · 21/03/2014 20:15

Maitre have you tried returning it? A bad reaction it will warrant a refund.

MaitreKarlsson · 21/03/2014 20:16

Sqoosh - hadn't even thought of that! Hmmm wonder if I still have the receipt....

WildThong · 21/03/2014 20:18

Aveda clove shampoo and conditioner - yuk, made my hair crispy and just horrible. And it stunk. What a waste of money.

LondonNinja · 21/03/2014 20:30

Chucked Bare Minerals powder in the bin.

Nars blusher - far too pigmented.

LondonNinja · 21/03/2014 20:31

Eve Lom - gave me spots!

plentyofsoap · 21/03/2014 20:33

Mac and benefit mascara. All awful.

MrsMeow · 21/03/2014 20:34

Bare Minerals, ages my skin by about 20 years and makes me look like I've applied it with a trowel.

Batiste dry shampoo, just doesn't work at all for me. James Brown one is much better.

CountingPennies · 21/03/2014 20:59

Estee Lauder night serum. Doesn't do anything other than dry my skin out.

Bumble and Bumble volumising shampoo and conditioner. Horrid stuff. Somehow left my hair lanky, greasy AND crunchy/knotted, all at the same time. Cost a packet and it clogged up the shower drain. Epic fail.

Saurus72 · 21/03/2014 21:04

Another vote for Liz Earle C&P - caused a severe and prolonged acne episode- and Eight Hour Cream - just, what's the point? Plus Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser - the least dramatic result ever. Nars orgasm cream blusher - far too sparkly, just couldn't get it to work. Bobbi Brown pencil version of the gel eyeliner, just looked awful.

expatinscotland · 21/03/2014 21:11

Chanel nail varnish. It chips almost immediately.

FrugalFashionista · 21/03/2014 21:19

I also loved the JF Beach Blonde range... Particularly the heat activated stuff for DIY highlights Wink
Still have a mini bottle of Funky Chunky left, my travel go-to, and some Dream Cream...

Theas18 · 21/03/2014 21:43

Tried so hard to be impressed by molton brown products - lovely colours/scents/bottles (I had a selection of 6 small size) .

All very meh. Bathing bubbles/shower gel ok but un exciting. Lotions sank in fast and smelled nice but 2 mins later skin still felt dry! The shampoo and conditioner was ok but no more than that.

I've re used the bottles lol

Methe · 21/03/2014 21:48

Any l'oreal shampoo. It makes my hair feel lank and gritty.

Anyone who likes tingly fresh lip salve ( see comment re Burt's bees above) try tesco own brand medicated lip balm.. It's a quid for 2 and works wonders and feels lovely.

LondonNinja · 21/03/2014 22:58

That beach hair thing from Bumble and Bumble. Might as well drag my hair through a pile of gunge. Awful.
