Not impressed with products - spill all!

Are there any products you've bought which you just think that was a waste of bloody time and money?!

Now I love Bobbi Brown but this product - Rose Shimmer Brick has done NADA for me doesn't add any colour to my face nor use as an eyeshadow. In fact it's put me off these types of shimmery stuff.

Anyone else got anything they weren't impressed with?! Smile

Bottom butter - I use it on my feet.
Benefit Bad gal - in the bin.
Liz Earle C&P - found it harsh. And the scrub too.

Shimmyshimmy · 20/03/2014 18:57

Bobby brown lipstick - leaves my lips raw.

Bare minerals foundation highlights the pores I'm trying to hide!

BikeRunSki · 20/03/2014 18:57

L'Oreal Perfect Blur
There's a tenner I'll never see again.

TheGrassIsSinging · 20/03/2014 18:58

Any BB or CC cream (have tried heaps of brands). I dont THINK my skin is that bad, but BB/Cc just doesnt give enough coverage for me and just makes my skin look slightly dirty. Underwhelmed.

Mineral foundations. Look chalky and accentuate every wrinkle.

Beauty flash balm. Pointless.

8 hour cream. Stinks and has no effect.

Blithereens · 20/03/2014 18:59

McFox I'm obsessed with coconut oil. I only use that an aloe vera gel and I'm never going back!

Madam isn't it funny! I do use it if I'm wearing a lot of make-up, but I always feel I have to cleanse again with the Superdrug stuff afterwards! Mind you I'm very new to this cleansing lark (I'm a former wiper) so maybe I'm doing it wrong!

I do like the tub it comes in. Looks lovely on the shelf Grin

bumbumsmummy · 20/03/2014 19:06

Where do I start anything for curly frizzy hair most of it is rubbish

Currently got the new Claudia Shiffer ultime omega repair it smells like linx and lots of it Hmm

Nerfmother · 20/03/2014 19:18

This is my favourite thread! Where do I start?

Sally Hansen - anything
Frizz ease - anything
Clinique - anything
Hand cream - anything but 8 hour and clarins

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/03/2014 20:06

Micheal deCesare 'Liqifix' (liquid mousse)

Years ago, I used Oat Wash Shampoo and the Leave in Conditioner (spray, very light texture) . Loved them.

Then he re-formulated the Oat Wash to Copper Peptide. The shampoo smelled like mashed potato Confused and the Liquifix made my hair crispy. Couldn't wait to wash it out .

buttercrumble · 20/03/2014 20:22

Bobbi brown metalic cream eyeshadow , absolute rubbish gutted that I wasted around £24 Sad

bialystockandbloom · 20/03/2014 20:42

Yep totally agree with Clarins double serum. Bloody expensive, crap packaging, seemed to get through it ridiculously quickly, and all it did was give me spots Angry

MadBusLady · 20/03/2014 20:46

Liz Early C&P made my rosacea flare up and didn't actually seem to clean very well.

Bobbi Brown loose face powder, seemed ok in shop but makes me look like a ghost and the texture doesn't seem like anything I couldn't get from Rimmel or similar.

foolssilver · 20/03/2014 20:47

I've bought so many rubbish products over the years but the ones that spring to mind are

Morrocanoil - awful and I hate the smell

Steamcream -broke me out so now using as a foot cream

Any mac mascara - clumpy on me no matter what I do.

prettyinpink90 · 20/03/2014 20:50

Bare Minerals make up - spent £130 on a whole load of items, only to realise when it got home it did absolutely nothing for me... I just looked tired and powdery!

MadBusLady · 20/03/2014 20:50

Also, it wasn't a disaster and I got a free sample but I was very underwhelmed by Estée Lauder Night Repair. I still look better the morning after using my trusty Neutrogena Spot Control moisturiser. I have quite oily skin though, maybe it is the business on dryer skins.

MadBusLady · 20/03/2014 20:52

Oh yeah, and Bare Minerals. Really claggy and dusty. Again glad I only got samples.

FullOfChoc · 20/03/2014 20:57

What is the superdrug equivalent of liz earle please?

sotiredfornow · 20/03/2014 20:57

Oh great thread...

Liz Earle C & P - I stuck with this for ages and tried to love it but it was just 'meh' - I thought fair enough it's just my skin because I'm knackered (small DC) and not eating all that well. However, when I finished my bottle I couldn't justify the expense so picked up the No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser and I tell you what, my skin has been transformed within 1 week. It looks amazing! Nothing else has changed. I've still been eating chocolate like it's going out of fashion :)

BigPawsBrown · 20/03/2014 21:01

Laura Mercia creme brulee honey bath - just smells like radox. and is £30!!!

Choc it's the hot cloth Radiance cleanser in a green box and it's AMAZING. It comes with a muslin cloth but I use ordinary facecloths and they're fine.

Amethyst24 · 20/03/2014 21:23

Estee Lauder ANR. SO expensive, smells nasty and doesn't do much for my skin.

Freeze24 - my sister swears by it, but I think it's harsh, nasty and ineffective.

And Bare Minerals foundation - way prefer the MAC one.

MadBusLady · 20/03/2014 21:25

Re Superdrug the Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser is exactly the same idea and also brilliant, I found I was a bit sensitive to the Radiance stuff.

NorbertDentressangle · 20/03/2014 21:31

8 hour cream -gloopy, sticky and smells so strong.

Lidl BB cream - Ok admittedly it's only Lidl so was cheap and cheerful but I saw quite a few recommendations on here.

CecyHall · 20/03/2014 21:32

Despite spending a lot of my first job wages on it, I've never really found much from Benefit that I like (only They're Real but I like Maybelline mascaras just as much for cheaper).

Maybelline Baby Skin was horrible.

Anything that has ever been meant to lessen frizz- just looks like I've coated my hair in something however little I use.

Loreal Elvive 3 day straight spray- 30 minutes straight if that, I've never known my hair kink so quickly after straightening.

Lush make up- horrible and way too expensive.

I could go on all day.

whereisshe · 20/03/2014 21:32

This is such a cathartic thread!

Benefit They're Real - drops flakes in my eyes (no good with contacts!)
Lancôme Definicil - clumpy and flaky
About 2 million (slight exaggeration) hair products. B+B surf spray was the worst, I really should have remembered how fluffy my hair is after going in the ocean and connected the dots
Liz Earle cleanse and polish - gives me zits
SK-II - makes my skin red and stings, doesn't make it look any different
Eve Lom - felt like Vaseline and didn't make my skin look any different
Beauty Flash Balm - to it's credit makes my skin look a bit better but then flakes off in pieces
Advanced Night Repair - blotchy redness
