Tree is also coming out today here. Sadly ours is a fake as we can't have dropping pine needles with the cat plus, with living in a flat, there's not really room for a big tree so fake it is Xmas Sad

Waves to all from waiting area at hairdressers. Lovely to catch up with Marsha who looked fab as always- those boots! Amazing.
We bought Christmas baubles in Libertys and then she headed off and I shopped. Ended up helping an old guy who was buying Diptyque candles. The amount of assistance I gave him I should have got my candles for free! Bought truffles and chocs and then headed for the rest of Regent St. Cos, J Crew, Jaegar, Anthro. Didn't see anything I fancied apart from one Cos sweater which I'll link later. So nice seeing all the lights but it is carnage out there.

Sounds lovely Grumpy and like your style w/ the horse box and being so very near Newmarket, we have a lot of those. I met one of Frankels 'disciples' last week. He knows him very well and is going to try to see if I can go visit him (Frankel I mean). The guy worked for Henry so was a mine of information. So interesting to ralk to him.

We've had several wreaths stolen from the front door over the last few years so I booby trap them with vicious prickled stems, hidden bells then padlock them to the knocker! I have made some nicely scented wreaths by bending Rosemary and Lavender stems into circlets then tying with patterned ribbon from VW Rouleaux. Mini ones have been made for the tree. They cost pennies.

Linus I missed that. Will scroll back. Thank you.

Have just returned from the madness of country town shopping. OMG. I find London less stressful! Bought stepD a felt and leather satchel made by an ex Radley and Tula designer in grey and dark red. Will photograph and pin later as it is gorgeous. Bought DH's niece a super warm Seasalt wristlet and scarf set in Fair Isle.

Awaiting imminent arrival of Aggie and Kim my parents have swept house for trainers, blazers, sports kit, crap and sprayed copious amounts of Mr sheen.......plug in is on full blast! hoping to make them a bit high so they don't find any dust Xmas Grin

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 15:10

Twas the night before Dry's birthday and all through the house not a creature was stirring..... Because they'd suffocated from plug in fumes! X

LinusDKD · 07/12/2013 15:19

Aaaaargh!

Just received an e-mail from Macy's to say that DH's present can't be shipped to my country 'due the regulations set forth by
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the material used in this product'!

WTAF!!!

It was a Ralph Lauren down gilet and I had seen it in a oocal shop but found it much cheaper on the Macys website. I guess it's the down in the gilet but why can't they put that on their website before you order it.

And I received confirmation only yesterday it had been shipped!

PANIC!!! What am I going to do? I was so smug because I had bought all my Christmas presents and now this!!!

I guess I can go to that local shop and buy it full price but I really, really don't want to!

MarshaBrady · 07/12/2013 15:38

Wow Linus would never have thought of that!

Shop was fabulous to see you, and looking fantastic as ever. And like Sleep's tips are being adhered to very well Grin. (grammar cbb)

It must be carnage out there, thank goodness for online shopping and the odd browse.

Just dropped ds2 AT a party and left. Oh my word, I am happy about that. He's not the bound in type but he was warming up as I left, I'm glad I didn't have to stay for two hours for him to muck in.

MarshaBrady · 07/12/2013 15:39

Oh the panic front, not sure! I need to get something for dh still.

LinusDKD · 07/12/2013 15:59

Stroppy e-mail of the day no 2 sent to Macy's.

The first one was to Ikea for making me drive all the way there to find that the item their website said was in stock was actually completely out of stock! Angry

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 16:25

Good news Marsha that means there's hope for my DS yet! And yes, polishes halo in front of Sleep for my healthy breakfast. :)
The only cream knits I saw were £500+ in J Crew, and a Jaegar one. Will link when home. On train now. Pleased to have short hair again and am overloaded with Libertys bags (am now a loyalty card holder). Who knew you got £15 off on first shop over £100.....

Drywhiteplease · 07/12/2013 16:53

Drywhiteplease · 07/12/2013 16:56

Grin at Shop.... It's a bit overbearing now, plug ins are horrid I think...smell synthetic

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 17:27

You need my nose Dry - according to the old boy in Libertys it is very skilled Hmm

LinusDKD · 07/12/2013 17:30

LinusDKD · 07/12/2013 17:31

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 17:54

Linus I feel all festive now! (helped by the glass of wine at the hairdressers!)

QueenCadbury · 07/12/2013 18:00

I'm an ingenue natural. Lots to take in but an absolutely fab day. It's made a lot of sense especially why things don't suit me and now I understand why. Will discuss more tomorrow.

Although our babysitter can't sit,I'm going to go to the party for a bit without dh so need to think about what to wear.

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 19:17

OOOO - sounds interesting QueenC - look forward to hearing more. Enjoy the party

santamarianovella · 07/12/2013 19:42

Hello all,
shop and marsha, sounds like a very nice meet up!
dry enjoy your evening.
linus that's sounds awful! Lots of websites, write captions saying that certain items are not eligible for international shipping, they should have made that clear, its best that you get it from a local store,if you are sure its something he likes.

mig you are right, living in different countries can be a positive experience,we moved a lot when I was child, and I have nothing but nice memories, and I don't I still don't know where I belong!

We went out today for lunch, just dh and I,my dear dear sil, offered to take the dcs out with her and her family. I told dh that I'm in the mood for something loaded with calories,so we went to burger and lobster, we didnt talk about the move or anything, just normal stuff, and after consuming a week worth of calories intake,we did some shopping for the dcs, bought a few felt decoration for the dcs to decorate the small Scandi tree in the kitchen. I wore my vanessa Bruno grey knit dress and lanvin boots, with my old stella m scarf,I so wanted to go to liberty and hunt marsha and shop down Grin, it was like swimming in a sea of people, total madness! We went home instead, we still had a few child free hours to spend so it was nice

I ordered this, and this CE sweatshirt on cyber Monday, hoping to wear the equipment shirt with leather skinnies and black heels , for a Christmas meet up with a few other mums from dd nursery next week. Do you think its too much?

LinusDKD · 07/12/2013 19:56

santa I had a look at that shirt as well. Such a gorgeous colour! Not sure it would suit me though. Maybe you can post a piccie on MNV when you get it?

I had a look at the Macy's website and there is no mention of down being restricted to certain countries and other restrictions should be mentioned during the checkout process.

Great to hear you had a nice time with your DH!

shopafrolic · 07/12/2013 20:50

Santa how lovely to enjoy some couple time, although it would have been lovely to meet you! Love the shirt - gorgeous colour - outfit sounds great.
Linus sounds as though Macy's need to improve their website, how frustrating!
Off to a 3yo birthday party tomorrow. Am thinking goldsign Lures again, Vince sweater because it's so cold, and black knee high flat LKB boots. Not sure about knee highs but felt inspired by Marsha today. Oh and M&S check coat......
Christmas cards, tree decoration and mulled wine tomorrow PM. What's a Scandi tree?
