Slaps Linus ' wrist for peeling off her Shellac (buy some acetone), and then rubs your neck better by way of apology. YY to catching up on sleep - I may well do the same.
Mom gorgeous gifts and great Vogue outfit!
DS looked at me this morning and said "stay home with mummy today" - not a chance. He was a bit shaky when I left him at nursery but they've emailed and said he is happy as anything now so my guilt is eradicated. The house is wonderfully quiet. I bought a latte from the cafe on the way home and am enjoying it whilst MNetting and planning everything I want to achieve this Autumn. Will walk the dogs in the sunshine in a bit.
Sorry to hear DD not well Santa
Marsha no email back from Vince yet - I'll keep you posted
Dry yes, chilly toes in the mornings now :)

Gorgeous weather!?

It's grey and cold here today.

I think Ds1 is back at school tomorrow, so we're doing the dreaded barbers visit and I have to sew name labels on everything later.

Do we think Ds2 will get his hair cut?
Just a fringe trim?
Or point blank refusal to go anywhere near the chair and will bury his face in my hair for the entire visit?

Place your bets! :o

MarshaBrady · 02/09/2013 10:18

Linus hope you're ok and it improves very soon.

Sleep hope the rest of your journey was ok too.

Foxy meant to say, hope you had a good sleep last night and you are ok too.

Lots of hopes, going now!

MarshaBrady · 02/09/2013 10:20

Really sunny here Anni. Good luck at hairdresser, we did it yesterday.

Shop sounds lovely. I'm sure he is very happy. Ds2 grumbles because he only goes two days (now three) and it's long breaks between each week. But when in the flow of it, he enjoys it.

Annianni · 02/09/2013 10:21

Happy belated birthday Mom.
Gorgeous presents.

I've got to wait till Wednesday I think, for dsd to be at college. Then the house will be lovely and quiet.
ds2 will still be here, but I can bribe him with a packet of smarties and a DVD

Annianni · 02/09/2013 10:23

Forgot to say, there's some lovely things on the outnet today.
Lots of denim, ash shoes and a fab MiH silk blouse.

shopafrolic · 02/09/2013 10:30

Normally I'd be playing my music loud by now - but listen..... what can you hear?
Silence
Just me and my latte

anni I shudder at the thought of having to take DS to the hairdresser. You are braver than me.

santa I hope DD feels better soon.

Whilst I was tidying up I discovered these ancient Dries Van Noten boots. They could do with a bit of shoe polish but apart from that they still look good probably because I never wore them much

It's hard to tell from the funny picture but they are dark brown with a dark purple patent heel

I also found some other ancient DvN boots that DM passed onto me. They are black riding boots with black embroidery but I think they might be a bit too worn to wear again.

OneLittleLady · 02/09/2013 10:35

I hear silence too shop now that Dp has gone back to work after a week off. No more crap American TV shows playing loudly in the front room Grin

I'm mnetting live from the barbers :o
He's still saying he wants it cutting.
We're next...

Shop, is that bullet proof?
I did see some lovely gold trousers earlier, they'd look fab together.

Annianni · 02/09/2013 11:30

Can't see the photo on my phone very clearly, I'll look later Linus.

shopafrolic · 02/09/2013 12:02

Good luck Anni may he be better than my DS who went to nursery with his wonky hair!

Belated birthday greetings momanitrix :) sounds like a lovely day and lovely gifts.
Am de cluttering here too - have filled 3 bags ruthlessly - then logged on to notice the other declutter tread ...... Must be the back to school time of year! Discovered I have 21 current pairs of jeans Shock and no I didn't bin any of them!
Have had a great weekend around the shops - not bought anything but lined up quite a lot of potentials for boots/ coats and tops. On phone so will pop up some links later - have pinned quite a few.
Good luck at the barbers anni hope your ds manages to brave the scissors!
Ds decided to cut dd s hair last month - so she had a nearly on trend asymmetrical fringe bob for a few weeks.
Ths only nail polish I use is opi- it lasts ages on feet but hardly a day on hands - I m hard on my hands I guess!

kalidasa · 02/09/2013 12:56

Have been lurking on these threads for ages and thought it was time to say hallo. You have all been directly responsible for considerable expenditure!

Need to do some serious shopping quite soon as need to be smart for work from the end of the month. I had a baby 9 months ago and am back at my previous weight but my shape is still different - (even) bigger bust and still a bit of a tummy. Can get back into quite a lot of things but not everything, and some things I bought to boost morale in the first few months are now definitely too big. While my shape was still changing a lot I was concentrating on jackets, knitwear, nightwear and accessories, but I really need a couple of new dresses and one or two pairs of heels for work.

I'm also going to have to do a massive bra overhaul at some point but am too daunted to face it yet. Am something ridiculous and impossible like a 28F at the moment. No idea how to tackle that.

My favourite recent purchase was this Anglomania jacket: www.net-a-porter.com/product/340501

I buy quite often from the Jaeger sale (demure English-y look suits me) and also liked Lucza until it disappeared.

I work in central London but haven't been to an actual shop (rather than online) for ages. Considering venturing somewhere before term begins. Any suggestions for best department store for stylish, interesting work stuff (especially shift dresses - have quite a few jackets already)?

OneLittleLady · 02/09/2013 13:15

they are lovely boots linus

Belated birthday greetings to momanitirx sounds like a lovely birthday

QueenCadbury · 02/09/2013 13:20

Welcome kalidasa. Can't help on work wear but well done on getting back to your weight. I've got 3 dc and each time I get back to my weight but my shape has changed slightly each time. Nothing drastic but enough that some things haven't fitted the same.

Whilst you lot are busy decluttering your wardrobes I've been busy decluttering my kitchen. Spurred on by my friend at the weekend who had a brand new kitchen and therefore a totally clean freezer/fridge and neatly stacked cupboards mine is now looking better. I'm ashamed by the amount if out of date stuff I've had to chuck though. Almost finished labelling uniforms and doing washing and can hopefully relax a bit this afternoon! Need to catch up on last weeks grazia before tomorrow's comes!

Spottybra · 02/09/2013 13:38

Just popping in to say hi. Followed this awhile back 2yrs ago maybe whilst I was on maternity but now I have quit working due to childcare issues and cost.

Belated birthday wishes.

DH was wearing his work uniform when I met him. No idea what I was wearing I'm afraid, could have been work gear or my Saturday morning hangover outfit which then consisted of tight jeans from river island frayed all the way down the front (they did eventually rip into holes) and pretty pastel shades, embellished t-shirts with a blazer and ballet pumps or metallic sandals. In defence I did see him several times a week and fancied him for two years. I thought he was taken already you see. He thought the same about me. Maybe if we had just had an actual conversation.....

Right, lunch over, DS is due a trip to the barbers before school starts tomorrow.

kalidasa · 02/09/2013 14:01

Thanks queen. Glad that I don't have to worry about labeling uniforms just yet!

Funnily enough I can't remember what I was wearing either when I was introduced to DH or the first time we met for coffee or on our first proper "date". And it wasn't even that long ago, we've only been together a couple of years! Oh well. I'll ask him and see if he remembers.

foxysocks · 02/09/2013 14:10

I have NO idea what I was wearing when I met DH. probably flared diesel jeans (I still have these and sometimes drag them out to see the light of day) and a tshirt with vans. I loooooved my vans back then. I also had this fab tan leather belt with lots of metal tube bits on, I think it was from kookai and I wore it all the time.

foxysocks · 02/09/2013 14:16

also - welcome newbies! stick around, bring lots of links Grin

and thanks marsha, I just found out I got accepted on the course I had applied for next year so I am a very happy yogini today! will hopefully sleep better now I am not checking email every ten mins Smile

Annianni · 02/09/2013 14:47

Welcome newbies!

He had his hair cut!!!!

It took a lot of persuasion and the barber promised him a lollypop... which I've never let him have before...
But it worked :o

His fringe is too short for my liking but it'll be a while before it needs doing again thank god

OneLittleLady · 02/09/2013 14:50

Wooooo! Success anni!!! Grin

Speaking of haircuts, I really should get mine cut but it's growing so well right now I don't want to ruin it

Welcome newbies, yes, bring ALL the links Grin
