I'm sure Wilbur would like to come - she's probably selfishly gone away or suchlike on hols.

Happy birthday Beachy! (Pushing your way up to Ruby and me, eh?)

And you still haven't guessed what I used Grin

Cremolafoam · 30/08/2013 18:55

Found a site called designmy nightGrin

It has come up with this place when I typed in mingling and shuffling criteria. They do giant sharing platters from the bar and have booths.
Obviously I have no idea being from The Pravinces.

That place is good, Crem, but SO LOUD. Even if we shuffled, we wouldn't be able to hear each other!

Cremolafoam · 30/08/2013 20:01

Oh no use at all. I hate when I can't hear people( crepey condition)
I have been to a place so loud that the kids just text each other instead of talking.Wink
Tapas sort of springs to mind tho??

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2013 20:52

Yes it is loud, that place. On the upside, it is about 10 minutes walk from me...

Cremolafoam · 30/08/2013 21:08

Anyone know www.designmynight.com/london/pubs/the-fentiman-arms-vauxhall this place?]]

bigTillyMint · 30/08/2013 21:11

I agree, it's a good place, but not for a crepey chat (I for one wouldn't be able to hear a word anyone was saying!) as it is full of loud young things.

Tapas could be good. Or Tas? But I think we would still have to shuffle as restaurants are generally seated....

Our best works end-of-term do was a picnic because everyone could easily move around. Not sure that's an option on a late September evening!

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2013 21:11

here? No idea what it is like.

or here? As above...

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2013 21:12

Tas is good.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2013 21:12

(I almost burst into a spot of Ian Dury then. Grin)

bigTillyMint · 30/08/2013 21:16

Er, I think MrsS is picking places within stumbling distance of her gaffWink

All look lovely, but I reckon all will be hard to "mingle" in, especially if they are busy. Seat swapping might be the easiest option?

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2013 21:25

Errr... Blush Yes, rumbled!

Cremolafoam · 30/08/2013 21:27

Ill go anywhere and talk to anyone. We can play musical chairs. Grin

Happy birthday Beachy btw- sorry I didn't read the whole thread til now.
Hope u had/ are having a lovely eveningThanksWine

Good plan though, MrsS!

I think someone mathematical should work out seat changes for the evening. And tell us what we owe on the bill at the endSmile

So it's round to MrsS' s gaff after dinner for charades and brandy?

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/08/2013 05:34

We could have a fun game of unpacking the boxes, while drinking gin. Actually, we could have a better game called "Where the fuck are we going to put all of this stuff?" I think that one will need the gin that is 60% proof.

herbaceous · 31/08/2013 07:57

We could make 'helpful' interior design and storage suggestions, while reading all your books.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/08/2013 08:43

I suspect the books will still be in boxes at that point, Herbs.

I have someone coming round to start cleaning this place this afternoon. It looks an utter tip, and there's virtually nothing in it. I am going to a party tonight, have taken the precaution of staying over, and have a day of fun planned for tomorrow. DH has left absolutely piles of clothes here - not sure how I am going to get everything back, and no idea why he didn't put everything in the heavy baggage. Hmm

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/08/2013 08:44

Am out every night next week. Now a bit worried about how I am going to get everything done here. Also found several full bottles of alcohol - definitely not leaving those behind!

MrsS, this may be the time to mention the occasion when my ex left what had suddenly become my (as opposed to our) flat, leaving absolutely everything - it looked as if he'd nipped out for more fags. He'd left pants in the dirty washing and three pieces of bacon (which I did not eat at the time) in the fridge.

I was in bits - I was besotted with him - but did manage to put the pants and bacon in a padded envelope and send them to him at work. Second class. In a heat wave Grin
