I misread that as 'get moving' and was nodding sagely, RubyGrin

Greetings from suffolk...
It's grey and a little bracing for August here but have been swimming in the sea everyday regardless which is lovely.
Yes to meetups and a plea for September (but AFTER 16th) which is the deadline for all this written work I have to do...

beachyhead · 16/08/2013 16:03

Yes to 20th Sept for me too!!

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/08/2013 17:05

Yes, should be OK for me.

motherinferior · 16/08/2013 17:35

Also: DD1 wants her ears pierced. Best recommendations?

beachyhead · 16/08/2013 19:01

MI, we just found a local hairdresser that had a beauty room who did dd and about 4 of her friends in one sitting... I had to sign all the consent forms (after very explicit conversations with the mums, two of whom were lawyers!) Grin

Currently entertaining four of dd2's friends for her 8th birthday...bowling and McD's and they are all now running riot before cake and pressures!! A mammoth combo mattress has been built for the 'no sleep' over!

Congratulations Ruby...

motherinferior · 16/08/2013 20:05

Congrats to you!Grin

MI - take her to Selfridges. DD1 had hers done by a lovely, but scary looking tattooed and pierced bloke. They use a disposable gun, so no cross infection with bits of other people's ear.

Congratulations Ruby!

Congrats Ruby - all happening for you this summer.

No word from hospital as yet - guess they are waiting on consultant?

Pencil me in for 20th.... Need to 'meet' MrsS :)

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/08/2013 07:51

Had a slightly tearful call from DD1 last night. Her period had started unexpectedly and she wasn't sure if she had enough sanitary towels - as she appears to have taken four packets with her, I was a bit Hmm, but will be indulgent and put some in the post for her (and told her to tell the boarding house supervisor and one of the other girls if she runs out). Her room mate also hadn't turned up - she didn't get a visa, apparently, and she didn't really want to be on her own. She was very enthusiastic about the other girls though, which was nice, and said everyone was very friendly and kind.

Having worried about her for several hours, I then got another call, and she was much more cheerful, and looking forward to today's activities. DD2 is missing her, but is having a friend round for a sleepover tonight. Smile

beachyhead · 17/08/2013 08:55

Oh that's bad luck, Mrs S. I remember getting my period at boarding school and being completely unaware and unprepared. Glad she cheered up later.

motherinferior · 17/08/2013 09:08

Poor old DD1. And poorer old you.

motherinferior · 17/08/2013 09:11

My DD1 is looking for school skirts that are...long enough. Yes, you did read that right.
