Can we start a BODEN review thread for the AW stuff?

After much excitement at having a load arrive today I am sorely disappointed.

The trousers are TINY. I tried the very skinny jeans and can't even get the 10 to zip up, despite having loads of other size 10s in Boden trousers.

The Roma Ponte trousers are the same- tiny- and the rise is so short it's almost indecent. They feel like surgical stockings.

The peter pan dress is okay though a bit bulky around the middle even in an 8- so size down. Not sure if it's a keeper.

The cable jumper is itchy and shapeless.

The broderie jersey top is very big and makes me look PG due to the high empire line right across the middle of the bust.

So- everything going back and might re-order stuff using 20% off.

Has anyone got the EASY POCKET DRESS OR THE LIBBY DRESS ?

The wool bistro crop trousers are luuurvely. Ordered them in my usual size and the black ones were too big on the waist and too tight on the bum, but the spotty grey ones fit perfectly and are gorgeous. Obviously some quality control needed on the sizing but I'm happy!

yes to the wool bistro trousers. really good. I now have them in 3 colours and am contemplating the check ones. I buy them in long even though I'm not tall so they are much less "cropped".

Queen have you found the sizing varies much between pairs? I might try some more if I was just unlucky with the black ones this time. They are not cropped on me, but ankle length, and I'm 5ft5 - thought the regular would be shorter at my height but it works well.

Not really no. Perhaps I've been lucky as have certainly had that problem in the past with boden stuff.

Keztrel where are you finding the wool bistros- they aren't on the web or in the catalogue as far as I can see.

Google wool bistro trousers and a link will come up

How extremely wierd. They appear to be hidden. I found them by following a suggestion in the mix and match thingy or whatever it's called. Hope this link works

Checked the catologue and not in there .

I seem to recall seeing them in the preview but decided against them because apart from black I didn't like any other colours.

The wool bistro trews are in the workwear section rather than the trousers section of the website. Confused

Report
Keztrel · 03/08/2013 22:43

I couldn't find them in work wear or the rest of the website earlier. Pretty sure they were in my catalogue though and they def exist cos I has them :) They're more flattering than the cotton bistros were on me.

My exchanges turned up today:

Skye jumper in blue: LOVE it. Am a 6 - 8 in Boden and definitely only need the 6 in this. It is a slouchy fit but not ridiculously so. Great over a shirt, with skinnys and converse for casual weekend look. I'm only 5ft and very slight so jumper perhaps not as short on me as on someone taller which may mean it hangs better??

Bow front star print blouse: dithered between green and ivory and eventually went for the latter. Again, definitely only need the 6 in this. It is a loose style but I like that. Thinking it will be good for nights out with my pleather leggings and heels. Could also tuck into a pencil skirt for work.

Am now waiting on the roll neck dress in gold and marilyn dress in navy.

I like the look of the wool bistro crops - what do you wear on your feet? Can't do bare feet and heels as office freezing.

Black ravello top exchange arrived in smaller size and I'm keeping. It's got a lower neckline and better sleeves than last years offering. Customer service really good too - I sent all of it back and then changed my mind about an exchange, they honoured the preview price and sent out very quickly.

My Tassel Court shoes ( Black with grey tassels) arrived yesterday. They are realy lovely, though I feel a touch too lovely to be my number one black works shoes for the winter, perhaps I need another pair of shoes for that role Grin. They are true to size, not too noarrow for my widish feet and - I hadn't noticed this - have a leather sole. They came with a pretty spotty bag to keep them in and spare heel things.

higgle I'm sending back my shoes with a leather sole (I hadn't noticed either), I was really worried about wearing them here in Scotland and how often they would need re-soleing.
How do you get on with Boden leather soles?

Report
higgle · 04/08/2013 15:30

I don't know - its a long time since I've had any - always worry about slipping on wet concrete. As i'll be wearing these mainly in my carpeted office (which i can park right outside) I think I'll take a chance.

I have some Boden leather soled shoes and I'm always slipping in them. I'm quite clumsy at the best of times. Keep meaning to get them resoled.
