Me too for a meet-up, but we don't get back till the 20th...

Went to see The Curious Incident last night - very good and the DC even seemed to enjoy it!

Also saw an old friend yesterday who is on her annual visit back here - had a trip down memory lane in Clapham, complete with wino's at the bus stopGrin

beachyhead · 31/07/2013 15:18

Count me in for wine in Sarf London... Not sure any more wine will be needed after this holiday. We have found a man who fills up your empty 1.5 litre orangina bottles with rosé for 2 euros... Cheaper than water, so would be rude not to.

Back on Saturday!

motherinferior · 31/07/2013 15:50

I personally am never drinking again after a very pleasant curry'n'wine evening with a friend yesterday...

Am away from 10th for two weeks, then back and raring to go.

QueenQueenie · 31/07/2013 15:52

Blimey, that's a lot of enthusiasm!

bigTillyMint · 31/07/2013 16:54

So how's about a meet-up for my last-stop birthday before the biggie - beginning of September? Will you be here by then, MrsS?

bigTillyMint · 31/07/2013 18:24

Hey, MI, I see your local hospital has been saved Smile

motherinferior · 31/07/2013 18:36

Yes, DD1 and I were remarking we can stab people in total peace of mind now Grin

bigTillyMint · 31/07/2013 19:08
Shock Grin
MrsSchadenfreude · 31/07/2013 19:48

I will be in London in second week of September.

bigTillyMint · 31/07/2013 19:53

Yay! Would Friday 13th be a good date?Grin

QueenQueenie · 31/07/2013 20:18

No! A week later... or how about you souf londoners do the 13th and then we quickly have another... in N London? Herbs?

Cremolafoam · 31/07/2013 20:44

I think a week later maybe: just thinking mrs s will hardly have set her suitcase down Grin
I can do either as long as dh doesn't do a meltdown Smile( he won't )
Later better for me I think

Blackduck · 31/07/2013 21:44

Love to meet up. I will try to work any date around checking up on mum :)

CointreauVersial · 31/07/2013 21:53

Yay to meetup.

Norf or Sarf London; I'm not fussy.

September sounds perfect; once the monkeys are back in full-time education my diary empties considerably. I was just reading one of my blogs, written by someone in the US, and they are just getting ready to go back to school.Grin

The DDs are back, with all their accompanying messy habits. I cannot believe how tidy the house has been since they left! They have had a high old time with Granny and cousins - zoo trips, swimming, shopping....far more attention than they get at home.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/07/2013 21:55

Ooh how exciting. Something for me to look forward to!

I have people coming round for dinner tomorrow night, and have just worked out that we will be sixteen. Only have 14 chairs to sit round dining table, so it might have to be a buffet. I have made a chicken phall so hot that it will be like a reverse chilli fisting. Grin (At the explicit request of two of the men, I may add.)

Cremolafoam · 31/07/2013 22:05

Ah great . Ill book my flights when we settle on a place and definitive date .
Yay!Grin

Oh ruby! How do you feel about that?

BD, I could have waved to your DS - we were in City Hall with friends

Week after in Sep is fine by me - have not booked anything for Sep yet!

Do either of you have US nationality, Ruby? Any chance of him getting a transfer to the US? If not, I think you can relax a little - immigration to the US is notoriously difficult. It took a friend of mine months to get a visa for his wife - he had a stable job, somewhere to live, no financial difficulties. And what looks lovely on holiday can be very different once you're living there. I've had some lovely holidays in Paris, but can't say I particularly enjoy living here much - the bureaucracy is grinding, there is dog shit everywhere, all the bakeries and restaurants shut in August. It sounds trivial, and most of it is, but it does mount up. I've been trying to get my ID card renewed since March - the French insist that I have one, and now the person dealing with it has gone on holiday...

Blackduck · 01/08/2013 09:47

Oh Ruby - maybe rose coloured (holiday) spectacles?
Agree with MrsS holiday's are one thing, the day to day working thing is something else.... (although I do sometimes want to live somewhere it doesn't rain so much ;) )

Barca was fab Ruby - the Sagarda was awe inspiring and ds was just amazed by it....

motherinferior · 01/08/2013 09:51

Bring him to Catford next time, Ruby. I guarantee he'll go home with a song in his heart and a smile on his lips Grin

DP is sulking because I didn't order his birthday T-shirts - after he got all @rsey at me about How Exactly He Wanted Them, to the point where I didn't dare order the Wrong Thing - in time for his birthday. I ended up in panicky tears at the computer this morning, convinced he would throw massive strop on his birthday Sad. Am inclined to LTB but think I may feel better once we have gone on holiday. (If I don't drown him on the Normandy beaches, of course.)

I am writing about osteoporosis. Four separate articles for different publications. It is doing my head in!
