Bum! Just join a thread and lock it down! So I'll start the next one.

Oh Cremo how sad. That is why I believe in national organ donation.

CV, sounds like they had great funGrin
And we need a pic of the finished room - I am currently contemplating DD's request to re-do her room...

beachyhead · 27/07/2013 09:43

Crem that's so sad.

Love the idea of bikini and fur coat. Sounds very 1970's!

Still lovely here, thunderstorms every night which are very impressive, but hot through the days. Way too much rose being drunk by all.

We are collecting things as people go home. Excellent haul this morning of umbrellas, boogie boards, naice wine and all sorts from a family flying home todayGrin dh panicking about the packing of the car already!

ruby, that sounds fab.

DS used to dress up in girls stuff all the time. We have lots of photographic evidenceWink

Looks like it's going to rain here pretty soon!

Cremolafoam · 27/07/2013 16:16

Wow ruby that's just sounds wonderful.

BTM yes more thunder and lightening threatening here as well.

Funeral was beautiful. Sad but beautiful. SadIdyllic country chapel filled with the scent of sweetpeas and jasmine and the haunting sound of uillean pipes.Sad

Am planting lavender this afternoon to finish the garden makeover thing.
Supposed to be done by tomorrow.
Ahem . Been a bit of a crazy week.

Stropperella · 27/07/2013 16:17

It's pouring down here now and I've not finished hedgecutting. Damn. The chooks are looking confused. I don't think they've experienced much rain before in their little lives.

Everyone's hols sound fab. Hope Herbs manages to find some dry weather in Devon, though.

I have just remembered that ds has been invited to a party tomorrow morning. I need to go out and get a present...

bigTillyMint · 27/07/2013 17:31

I feel very blessed that I have not been to a funeral in years.

Cremo, garden update photo needed!

Stropps, money in a card always goes down VERY well round here (and has done since they were much younger!)Wink

motherinferior · 27/07/2013 17:42

Cremo, glad it went as well as it could.

Cremolafoam · 27/07/2013 20:23

thanks MI.

ok BEFORE

Cremolafoam · 27/07/2013 20:25

AFTER!
( nearly there shot)

bigTillyMint · 27/07/2013 23:04

Ooh Cremo, that is inspiring! I must do a before and after when ours finally gets underway - the building work behind us (and therefore the party wall) seems to have ground to a haltAngry

CointreauVersial · 27/07/2013 23:21

Wow, Crem, big change! I bet stripping out the old stuff was a major chore. So sad about your friend; comiserations. Sad

I don't have any "before" pics of DS's room (suffice it to say, it was a dump), but I will try to sneak in with a camera when it's all done. I need to put up his pictures (lots of Banksy!) and finish the wardrobe interior, but I ran out of time and energy today. It won't win any interior decor prizes, but it's clean, neutral and has storage aplenty.

I haven't seen the finished bikini-and-fur-coat movie yet; the girls use Videostar on DD1's iPad Mini, and come up with the most amazing videos, with special effects and synchronised music. It keeps them occupied for hours.

motherinferior · 28/07/2013 19:00

And yet again I am contemplating my spare tyre(s) and wondering about running - CV, you do it, don't you?

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2013 19:18

Oh I'm so flabby. Off the 5:2 wagon
Even with all the extreme gardening, i am eating too much shite.
Meh

motherinferior · 28/07/2013 19:21

I am grimly aware that only the runners I know seem to be truly non-flabby. Certainly the ones of - ahem - truly mature years.

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2013 21:05

Ach, slimness is overrated IMHOSmile

I have managed to clear out half of DS's bedroom and the loft. The bin is overflowing and DH is convinced we can sell on our tat on the local forum, so the sitting room has a few extras....

Blackduck · 28/07/2013 21:14

I was the only one in a hundred mile radius wearing a one piece...I have been quite horrified catching glimpses of myself this holiday....
I also look at these slim young things and regret I didn't make the most of it!!

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2013 21:24

Bd if we could only look like we did then, and know what we know now....

CointreauVersial · 28/07/2013 22:52

Yes, MI, I do run, in an amateur fashion, although various things have conspired against me in the last couple of months, namely a sore knee, followed by monster period, then a cold, then a few days ago I badly bruised my toe..... I'm hoping to get out again this week for my little jog around the village. I'm not sure how much it contributes to "trimness", but it certainly tightens things up, and has some unexpected benefits, such as banishing the persistent backache I always seemed to suffer from (I guess it's all to do with core strength). The best thing about running for me is that it doesn't require any expense or planning, you just leave the house and run. And if I get up 30 minutes early and do it then (painful! I am not a natural lark), then it's done for the day.

motherinferior · 29/07/2013 08:04

You're selling it to me, CV, and frankly you look pretty damn trim to me Grin I get up early to swim. I could swap/add in a run. I am concerned that once DD2 starts going to school on her own I may quite feasibly have days when I don't leave the house, which is not madly good for me.

It is the fact that DP has been saying matily we both have a bit of a spare tyre that annoys me Grin

CointreauVersial · 29/07/2013 13:03

MI - just get yourself onto one of the Couch to 5k threads for support and motivation - it worked for me (that's where I first "met" Wilbur, in fact).

My scan is this afternoon (eek). If they find something, at least there will be a treatment plan within sight, and if they don't, it is all systems go for HRT. Win win. At least the period seems to have stopped again so I don't have the indignity of an internal scan with all that going on (eurk!).

motherinferior · 29/07/2013 13:37

It's on my post-holiday to-do list. THat and first purchasing firm undergarments Grin. And what do you put a phone/ipod IN to listen to the podcast, then?

motherinferior · 29/07/2013 13:37

Good luck this pm!

motherinferior · 29/07/2013 14:32

Just heard I didn't get the job I was interviewed for recently, which is find as it wasn't quite the right job for me but I do rather hope I get interviewed for something else I've applied for...

Cremolafoam · 29/07/2013 18:01

Oh MI pants. I really hope you get the other interview .
CV hope this afternoon went well for you. Dontcha just love those scans?
Had so many in my life I couldn't count. Bleurgh:(
