Take away? And just think, next year your DD's could be at school as long as oursSmile

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/07/2013 18:36

DD2 will be. DD1 will still be breaking up some time in early June...

Cremolafoam · 24/07/2013 19:01

Mrs S we get the full two months here in NI too. Always have all of July and all of August. Usually means we can cheekily take advantage of cheaper flights in the first two weeks of July.Grin hasti bd some kind if upside to living in thisgodforsaken hole delightful green landSmile

beachyhead · 24/07/2013 20:25

C'est moi dans Ile de Re!

It's very beautiful and I imagine myself cycling around looking very French and slim and lovely. In fact, I look slightly red, bit buxom and badly dressed....

But having a lovely time!

Cremolafoam · 24/07/2013 20:32

Ah Bon ! Excusez- moi beachy!
Je suis folle.

Brain has turned to potato .Grin

Blackduck · 24/07/2013 20:35

Packed (I think) and ready to go....
Lovely evening in the pub, everyone ready for a summer holiday..

In a beered up moment I am planing 'it's a year (and I still have that crappy bathroom) BBQ' to celebrate, well, a year...... (Blimey where did that go???

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2013 21:00

Ooohh, BD, have fun!
beachyGrin

I am just happy to have finished work and have no extra teens in the house, so hopefully a decent sleep!

Cremolafoam · 24/07/2013 21:19

Envy Bd have a lovely holiday!
BTM early night Wineglass of wine. I too am dd free as she's at granny's .

And breathe......

Stropperella · 24/07/2013 22:49

BD, have a wonderful time in Barca!

Just had a nice impromptu evening out at Wagamamas. Bit profligate, but it was a start of holiday surprise for the dcs.

BTM, you are very saintly putting up with all those teen comings and goings. I fear I can't cope with random teens round my house any time and certainly not before 9am. I have always fancied the idea of a moat and a drawbridge...

We had some random customers turn up on the doorstep today, which was unfortunate given the state of the house. Increasingly I feel I will have to give up seething about having to do the housework. I spend too much time seething and brewing up resentment and too little time actually keeping on top of the jobs. If it's just us, I really don't care about the dust and grubby windows etc (everything that needs to be sanitary generally is, but non-essential stuff just never gets done), but the humiliation when we have visitors is a bit too uncomfortable.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/07/2013 22:57

Oh Strops, I know the feeling well. If we have unexpected visitors, I am acutely aware of the cat hair on the rug in the hall and everywhere else, but to get on top of it, I would have to hoover every day.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/07/2013 22:58

Where did MaybeBentley go? On holiday?

CointreauVersial · 25/07/2013 00:22

Ooh, Wagamama! A Cointreau family fave.

BD, have a fab holiday. The best thing we did in Barcelona was a sightseeing bicycle tour - it was fascinating and great fun.

Painting is all complete, and the carpet in DS' s room has been lobbed into the bursting skip (revealing rather nice floorboards we didn't know about, but the carpet is a done deal, so never mind). I now have two days off .

Period is back, with brass knobs on. Angry The good news is my scan appointment has come through, for Monday, so I am a step closer to finding out if there is an obvious and potentially fixable cause (i.e. fibroids).

Oh CV, sympathies. I have mine (and DD has hers - is she getting in-sync with me?! Very handy as it won't fall in the hol and she won't try tampons!) but it's hardly anything at all.

Feeling more refreshed after a good sleep, though DSD's alarm woke me at 6.30 (must figure out how to turn it off for the hols!) - just wondering how I will spend the day...

DD would like her room re-vamped, but she needs to do some serious tidying and chucking before that can be considered!

Blackduck · 25/07/2013 08:46

Thanks all Grin
Waiting for taxi...

bigTillyMint · 25/07/2013 09:33

Just thinking of you Stropps (and the rest of you chicken-lovers) as DS (12 1/2) is watching Peppa Pig which is about Grandma Pigs chickensSmile

Have just been snarfing the left-over pancakes from DD's sleepover shenanigans yesterday - there is going to be a serious gunt-overhang on my bikini bottoms!

hattymattie · 25/07/2013 10:26

Have fun BD. I think Ruby is actually in San Fransisco Lucky thing.

Temperature gone up again so didn't sleep very well last night - I think I'm going to start early rising and siesta like the spanish (which should work very well for when we go to spain in two weeks).

I'm looking at the ironing but it's too hot to iron. BTM you never said how your Boden bargains were - or were they not bargains after all.

Cremolafoam · 25/07/2013 10:31

Job agency have offered me the job
BUT

EEK

it means id have to resign from permanent post to do it. It is only temp until October. OR do both jobs at 240 hours a month( my current boss says she will accommodate this if she can ) It's in the same building and I have about 60 hours leave I can use.

Quandary.
Wwyd?
I have said ill let agency know tomorrow Shock

hattymattie · 25/07/2013 10:33

Welll done Crem - although it'll be tough to do both at once.

motherinferior · 25/07/2013 10:33

Deep breath and do both?

bigTillyMint · 25/07/2013 10:41

Oh yes, Hatty! The Boden bargains are good though the top is more orangey than I thought - never really worn orange, but I think it looks OK on and will definitely do for work come the autumn!

Cremo, congratulations! But that's a bit of a dilemma... both jobs means 60hours a week which would be heavy going, but if you used your leave might be doable. At least that way you will still have a permanent job? (so says the woman who now has 5 1/2 weeks off!)

Cremolafoam · 25/07/2013 10:45

60 hours a weekShock
Which I could reduce with leave to 48
for about 5 weeks of it. That's full time plus 2 evening shifts.
Hmm

motherinferior · 25/07/2013 10:58

That is VILE, cremo, no two ways about it, thinking about it...how much would it be an investment in your future?

CointreauVersial · 25/07/2013 13:16

Dilemma, Crem....

I suppose the ideal would be if, half way through your temporary assignment, they turn round to you and say,"but Crem, we want you for eva!" then you could choose one or the other. As MI says, if you think it could lead to something, then it might be worth the short-term pain.

Carpet fitters are banging about in DS' s room, DS is at a pool party, DD1 is at the cinema with friends; just me and DD2 chilling here.

Cremolafoam · 25/07/2013 13:18

Going to talk off the record to an experienced colleague over coffee this afternoon. Am thinking I simply can't do it and have any kind of life.
But would it be tolerable for 3 months to improve prospects within organisation . I'd be moving up two grades.
And the wrecking ball if redundancy is hovering over my current post....
Ooh just don't know
