Bum! Just join a thread and lock it down! So I'll start the next one.

OP posts:
Blackduck · 23/07/2013 20:40

MrsS that first question is exactly the one ds asked that I refused to answer....

motherinferior · 23/07/2013 20:41

Frankly I've given up worrying about the furry bastards.

Blackduck · 23/07/2013 20:41

Go Crem....

bigTillyMint · 23/07/2013 20:43

MI, wasn't it Herbs who had the flea-catcher in?

I have 8 screechy 14yo girls scoffing sushi, pizza and cake in my kitchen. And one grumpy DS on the sofa!

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/07/2013 20:44

What other threads under "Style and Beauty" would cover new jobs, fleas, masturbation and orange legs?

Blackduck · 23/07/2013 21:04

Saves us venturing out into the rest of MN MrsS!

bigTillyMint · 23/07/2013 21:06

So true!

Cremolafoam · 23/07/2013 22:12

Delighted there is this one size fits all thread. It's a jungle out there. Got into a cat fight over sun cream on another thread . Sad
Yes I am a factor 50 zealot. Suck it up. Dd has to have a mole removed due to family history of melanoma.
( she's fine btw- just a precaution)
Rant over...

Shitting myself over this job now Confusedso mildly hysterical.

Stropperella · 23/07/2013 22:21

I like a bit of variety, I do. Grin

My 100-year-old aunt has died. I last saw her sometime in the early or mid 1970s when she and my father (who would have turned 107 this year) had a massive falling-out and thereafter never saw each other again. Although they did bizarrely write each other letters every year for one another's birthdays. I feel I should send a card to my cousin (her daughter) but I am having a lot of trouble writing it. "Sorry for your loss, blah, blah, blah" is a waste of a stamp. Or is it? It's not a good time for honesty either. Damn, this blood-linky thing with people makes everything tricky.

Stropperella · 23/07/2013 22:21

Crem, you deserve that job. Go get it, missus.

Stropperella · 23/07/2013 22:23

ps: I am all factor 50'd up all year round. Still a mass of wrinkles and sunspots. And have had 3 lots of basal cell carcinomas removed (the first in my 20s).

herbaceous · 23/07/2013 23:38

It was indeed me with the fleas, MI. £120 later, they do seem much reduced.

Now have absolutely no voice at all. Controlling DS tomorrow going to be tricky.

Strops, I think under the circs a fairly neutral condolences card is the way forward. If further contact is then made, all well and good, but just letting cousin know she's being thought about is never a waste of a stamp.

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2013 08:02

Well, the birthday "sleep"over seems to be going OK - not too noisy, though I don't think they went to bed till 3ish and no sign of them yet! DS was very jealous and grumpy (he keeps saying he's under house-arrest as he has been grounded and phone confiscated. Saw his best mates mum and she has done the same, so IANBU!) and I am supposed to be taking him for a haircut at 9.30Hmm

I am a Factor 50/30 queen (after years of Factor 2 Hawaian Tropic in the 80'sBlush)

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2013 08:18

Oh dear, spoke too soon - DD's ex-bf and his mate have just turned upHmm Seems DD invited them to come at 7am - at least they waited till 8Hmm

Cremolafoam · 24/07/2013 10:40

Oh BTM Shock have they been up all night planning that .?

hattymattie · 24/07/2013 11:00

Oh BTM - 7 am you say. This time does not compute with my teenagers.

CointreauVersial · 24/07/2013 13:06

Schoooooool's Out for Summer..........!!

DH is working from home, so has just collected DD2; the big two have the traditional end-of-term pilgrimage to the town centre, where they hang around in gangs and annoy everyone.

More sodding painting to do in DS's room later, because the carpet arrives tomorrow, although both DS and DD1 got stuck in and helped wield the roller (an important life skill, surely?). DD1 ended up with a big circle on her arse after sitting on the paint pot lid by mistake. Grin

Well done, BTM for sticking to your guns regarding DS. How long is his house arrest?

motherinferior · 24/07/2013 13:52

DD1 is busy zipping around seeing her Y6 mates and will come to the end of year pubfest at 3.30 Grin

hattymattie · 24/07/2013 14:41

Gosh CV - can't believe your lot have only just finished school.

motherinferior · 24/07/2013 14:44

My younger one still has 45 minutes to go!

Rubes- est-ce qu'il fait beau sur l'île de Ré?

Blackduck · 24/07/2013 16:58

Survived y6 leavers assembly without crying toooo much (mines in y5). Packed and off to the pub for tea,.....

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2013 17:05

Yes, I think they had been skyping in the night and 7am does not compute with my DC either, hence myShock at seeing the boys at the door!
Sounds like they've been having fun all day and are coming back soon to tidy up the mess they left here before going back to friends for a sleepover thereHmm

We had a good last day at work - went to the park for a picnic and game of roundersSmile

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/07/2013 17:52

All these children only just breaking up from school, and mine have been off for six weeks already! We have no gas and therefore no dinner and no hot water. I can predict that DH will say no to going out for dinner.
