wordassociationfootball · 19/07/2013 15:46

Greetings frothy crepesters! Have been lurking a lot since the sun came much too far out and zapped my strength to nothing. Nice 'kini herbs!

I am de-lurking to grill MI about this free, free I tell you, freelancers childcare wonderful entertainment for the kiddiwinks. MI I will PM you.

Bless you all in your bikinis or not. I am re-writing and editing my nov. No-one has read it yet. Blimey, if I'd thought it through (the amount of work, not the plot!) I would never have started, but I love it.

wordassociationfootball · 19/07/2013 15:46

It's Dukes by the way!

herbaceous · 19/07/2013 15:47

Dukes! Me old china.

How are the drums?

motherinferior · 19/07/2013 16:15

I have emailed you, dukester.

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2013 16:42

Dukes! How lovely to see youSmile You must not disappear again immediately!

wordassociationfootball · 19/07/2013 17:30

I will not disappear until I've had a good mingle BTM. Bless you, the drums are good. I got a merit for me grade one. I would like to play with actual people but I am too scared to look into it. I went to a party a while back where there was jamming, but came over all shy and gauche and didn't know the etiquette for putting myself forward so my drumsticks stayed in my hand bag Blush Grin

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2013 17:34

Mingling is goodSmile

Distinction for Grade 1 is also good! You need to join a band - surely there are some other musically talented crepeys who would be up for it?

wilbur · 19/07/2013 17:53

Dukes! How lovely, I was thinking about you recently, wondering about the writing and the drumming. Hope all going well, sounds like you've been v productive. I am on boiling train, bleerugh, but have been on nice day out with kids to Kensington Palace (snort, auto correct just changed that to Kennington Palace, my phone knows my place...). Saw fashion exhibition, frocks from Queen, Princess Di and Princess Margaret who is my new style guru. do we think I could work a turban - Mustique-stylee?

Ruby, have fab time in NY - give my regards to Broadway.

MrsS sorry about interview, that sucks. Agree with rest, you need a break to recharge.

Stropperella · 19/07/2013 18:24

Herbs, good bikini choice - looking good.

Have a lovely time in NY, Ruby.

Dukes YAY! Congrats on yr Grade 1 Result. Eh, that must be some handbag if you can fit drumsti ks in it.

wilbur · 19/07/2013 18:38

Herbs - bikini looks great (and I can't see any porridge on your thighs at all!) Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2013 18:47

Bikini looks great, Herbs. I did laugh at the "toddler training pants" style of the big pants.

Dukes! Lovely to "see" you again!

I asked if the job I applied for went to someone with HR experience. It did. She is an HR professional, hugely qualified, including a Master's in HR. It made me wonder if I was in it just to make up the numbers. Sad I clearly never stood a chance about someone like her, who could talk knowledgeably about change management in an organisation etc etc. I did a small amount of googling, and it looks as if it is the woman that the director's PA was describing as being "a right royal pain in the arse" while I was waiting for my interview. Schadenfreude can be quite soothing sometimes.

But I still have no job to come back to. Sad And she is an external applicant, so won't be juggling the stress of finding a job with moving country, sorting out schools and the 101 other things I have to do.

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2013 19:02

Did you not go to the medecin and get signed off yet, woman?!

beachyhead · 19/07/2013 19:18

That so unfair Mrs S, hate it when candidates are so mismatched..I think a little time off might be in order.

I'm on my way to France whoop whoop for my holsWink looking forward to my first steak frites on la ferry!

I am sans bikiniHmm

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2013 19:22

I have done five online stress tests and they all come out with "excessive stress." Does the doctor have to write stress on the sick note though? Because I will worry even more about my failure to get a job if I have that on my record.

wordassociationfootball · 19/07/2013 19:27

Wilbur - I linked to something you wrote for MN (I think) a while back, maybe on diets? Something in it really made me laugh. God, that's vague, sorry.

You've upped my grade BTM, was a merit not distinction. I was desperate for a distinction.

Is anyone sleeping in this heat? I'm waking up zombie-like. Thought it was supposed to be cooling down...

beachyhead · 19/07/2013 19:47

I would take a week off for something else... D&V, period pain, heat stroke, anything really...

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2013 20:07

You must surely deserve it, WAF!

I (and the rest of my family) am permanently zombie-like ATM.

Yes, I guess "stress" might not look good on a CV. Perhaps you should go with one of beachy's suggestions.

And happy hols, beachy!

Cremolafoam · 19/07/2013 20:43

What is with this cider that is 8.6 vol alcohol? Is that why it costs £26 or something for 2 drinks these days?

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2013 22:56

My cider is 3.5%. Which is why I have drunk the whole litre bottle.
