what nailpolish are you wearing? and where do you buy from?

I love polishes, I'm not a fan of make up, but nailpolish is the equivilant of shoes, or jewellery. It finishes an outfit.

Today I am wearing Essie school of hard rocks, an ace dark teal. With a barry m yellow topaz glitter topcoat. The topcoat looks like models own, but is half the price, from superdrug, buy 2 get a web or croc effect free. And the essie came from cheapsmells.com

do them after a bath, use cuticle remover liquid, aside from this, lots of handcream/oil

I've got some Sally Hanson gel cuticle remover which is good, I don't have baths so they don't get a long soak very often. I push mine back with the thumbnail of my other hand, don't trust myself with wooden sticks etc. Regular cream or oil to keep them soft definitely helps.

OK nail polish obsessed ladies, can I pick your brains? I'm slightly allergic to nail polish. When I wear it on my fingernails I can feel it there and the tips of my fingers get sweaty. It's an uncomfortable feeling and I never manage more than an hour before I have to take it off. On my toes, however, I don't have this problem. I suspect it's because my toenails are thicker.

So can anyone suggest a good brand to try? I've looked at gels but I'm a bit wary to spend any cash without knowing whether I'm going to be able to tolerate them.

I've heard of being allergic to nail polish - there must be an alternative somewhere.

I'm going to buy it today pinot my little shimmer brick - you were bang about the nail file so I trust your judgement now! I hate No7 polishes normally they don't really ever dry, so interesting that it's good.

YY I hate No7. Think I must have got this with one of those £5 vouchers they give out. It's the Stay Perfect one but they have changed the packaging so I really hope they haven't changed the formula and it's £1.50 cheaper, across the range.

Oh and I bought a really nice smudgy kohl pencil with a big fat smugger on the end - new from Max Factor. It's fab much better than shite Bobbi Brown there was a grey one but they'd sold out so got a brown one instead and will get the grey one next - very impresses so far!

I got stopped by not one but two women at a toddler group today to compliment my nail varnish and ask where it was from . It was this OPI one.

Oooooo has that got a tint of green or grey? Like it!

It's a very dark greyish green with a teeny bit of sparkle that makes it look much greener in daylight, but it looks quite grey in low light.
