Hope you find me, Crepeys. I know your eyesight is not what it was.......

OP posts:
stleger · 17/07/2012 22:29

I am slightly crepey...

Blackduck · 17/07/2012 22:47

Found you CV
Hi stledger - welcome to the mad house...
CV low Carbing? I am failing (I blame dp) tips??
Meanwhile downward slope to end of school, and packing beckons.....

thenightsky · 17/07/2012 22:50

I don't think I've posted since the 2nd thread Blush

Since then, I've given in and bought reading glasses in Superdrug. I do have to point out they are only 1.25s though, so I barely need them.

On the other hand, I'm thinking of asking my GP to up my HRT dose Sad

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2012 22:53

BD - lay off the chips. Grin

OK, OK, you probably need more......actually, there are lots of excellent threads in the Slimming/Weightloss section if you are after inspiration. BIWI's your woman - she is very disciplined.

Or try the Pig to Twig book - you might know India Knight from the Sunday Times.

Blackduck · 17/07/2012 22:57

I don't do chips (where's the halo symbol?) I suspect it's the wine that's the issue (and the bread.....)

Blackduck · 17/07/2012 22:58

I have seen that biwi woman - she scares me :)

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2012 23:04

She's lovely in RL, not scary at all!

Seriously, I started just by giving up the obvious stuff, like spuds, rice, pasta, bread and cake. The rest kind of evolved. I was pretty strict for the first few months, but I have relaxed now.

I have lots of stylish reading glasses from Poundland (trendily known as Dealz in Ireland). I have recently gone up to x2. I wonder where that will end, do I just need stronger and stronger? At least they aren't around my neck on a string.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/07/2012 23:17

Oh but I covet little half moon reading glasses dangling on my bosom on a gold chain, Stieger. But I don't need them yet. As long as the light is very bright.

I have met BIWI. She is indeed lovely.

I am reading a book about low carbing, but had spag bol for dinner and a bottle of Chardonnay (shared). Will it make my big fat belly and swinging tits disappear?

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2012 23:28

Okaaayyy....so, my recent sale extravagances bargains, for your perusal.

From M&S: this top for going out, and this dress, handy for work.

From Monsoon: this skirt for work, and this skirt (although the second one is still under review; I would wear it casual with a fitted teeshirt). I also bought a lovely royal blue top which looks lovely with my white jeans, but can't find it on the website.

From Boden: this dress, in blue. It's for a wedding, so more than I would normally splash out. And this cardi, which will hopefully be a handy basic. The Boden stuff hasn't arrived yet.

I eventually took the lovely blazer back to Zara, but - result! - found the one I really wanted, in my size, and even cheaper. I can't find it on the website, but it's a lovely greeny colour, a little bit Chanel, and will look nice on a night out.

Phew.

Ooh, stleger, whereabouts in Ireland are you? DH is a Roscommon man.

OP posts:
stleger · 17/07/2012 23:34

I am in Cork, but will be in Galway on Saturday, and I grew up in Belfast...but spent the eighties in England. Our local Marks was flooded a couple of weeks ago. it is a small branch with food and Per Una. All the Per Una stock was destroyed Shock

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2012 23:35

Grin Every cloud.......

Ooooh, I'm new here how crepey does one have to be to be let in to the crepey club? I love clothes but sadly they need to be bargains these days, crepey and on a budget, could be a dangerous combination! Grin

CointreauVersial · 17/07/2012 23:43

No club here, all welcome! Especially if you have bargains to share.

Blackduck · 18/07/2012 07:01

Hi all, half moon glasses - yes, bring them on. I can (largely) get away with not wearing glasses except first thing in the morning/last thing at night, I get ds to read packets to me when cooking - is good literacy practise :)
Cv those low carb threads are scary - are they living on fresh air over there??
But it's got to be done, too much stuff is too tight these days...

Itwillendinsmiles · 18/07/2012 07:14

I'm definitely crepey and had varifocals prescribed for the first time earlier this year... though I still peer over the top of them to read small print!

Love clothes and bargains which is good as clothing buys tend to come from charity shops these days as I am a very mature student.

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2012 07:23

Ooooh, some new names! HelllooooSmile

BD, my eyes are worse first thing and last thing, and I get DS/DD to read packets/labels to me all the time!

Another few events ticked off - saw DS in his Y6 performance last night and DD retained the 100m title at Sports Day.... Now got a big "do" at our place tonight for our Head who is retiring...
