Oh the lovely husband Kerry! Did ds1 ever get into secondary school? Did you queue in vain? How is the chess? How is dd2?

Blackduck · 18/07/2012 23:42

I am drunk. V.C thing fine. Me, dp and boss took moral high ground in room and everyone came to us. Then at dinner, I never thought head of estates could be so interesting...no seriously!!!

Hi al newbies.. Hang around, we don't bite, much....

MrsS how's AB?

CointreauVersial · 18/07/2012 23:48

Grin BD, you are not making an awful lot of sense.

And on a school night, too. Shocking behaviour.

Okay - we took a table at drinks reception away from mob, so mob came to us (moral high ground - not in scrum, people watching)
At dinner I was next to head of estates (university - guy who deals with buildings - generally not that interesting) - nice guy, good chat...

AB - ArseBoss
(wow that came up as 'ArseBoss' on my iPad)

More sense now??? Or shall I stop digging :)

oldqueenie · 18/07/2012 23:59

Well I've realised that I haven't shopped enough for this holiday. This is definitely a no sleeves holiday, as the heat precludes any sort of arm pit resistance. I have the sum total of two no arm tops which are suitable for evening.

After three years of camping holidays, this holiday is proving challenging to the wardrobe. The swimsuits are holding up though, literally!

Welcome to all newbies, although am pretty recent delurker too. I have dd who is 15, ds who is 11, and dd who is 6, all sharing a hotel room Wink. No major wars yet! I looked back the other day and saw that I was on the same 'baby expected' thread as Wilbur in 2001...hello again.

Haven't got our sats levels yet as cleverly left before the posted reports arrived....

Blackduck · 19/07/2012 09:07

Do it Ruby!! I'd so love to be there....

beachyhead · 19/07/2012 09:11

Ruby, I would book it...

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2012 09:11

Go on ruby - we all know it's really you that secretly wants to goWink

Oh you are all lovely!

I hope you've done it Ruby, my OH would love to be there... as it is he's having to make do with a ticket to see the Olympic women's road race at Box Hill a week on Sunday.

I'm 49, live in the south Midlands very happily on my own. Three offspring who are 20, 26 & 27. Married forever but OH lives elsewhere because of his work/my study. This has worked well for me for nearly three years and I commute for long weekends!

herbaceous · 19/07/2012 10:00

Hello new crepeys! And old, in both ways, natch.

Quick intro: I'm a norf-east London hag, 46, part-time journalist, with a DS of (just) 3, and a toy-boy DP 10 years younger than me. Bit of a piss artist, but not as entertainingly as Mrs S or Stropps. Afficionado of Sainsbury's clothes. The slinky frock I wore at DS's recent birthday party got lots of compliments!

herbaceous · 19/07/2012 10:23

Oh and MI, I'd be game to be your guinea pig. I believe from Sunday the sun is going to SHINE. Hopefully for more than a couple of days.

Blackden glad to see another sticks inhabitant!

My Co-Op don't sell clothes, they have only just progressed to selling exotic items like lasagne. They do a good line in cakes though, not that I partake, oh no. It is so small that two people cannot pass in the aisles Grin

More about me, I live in the north, am 46, been married forever (big anniversary soon), have two DD 19 and 22 both at uni in the smoke and work P/T for my hubby.

For all you gals trying to tame frizz leave in conditioner is your friend. I have curly hair think pubes and recently discovered this. The other thing is avoid hair products with alcohol in them like the plague. They dry the surface of your hair and ergo cause frizz.

Anyway, we all know that alcohol belongs in a glass not in bloody hair products Wink

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2012 16:33

Oooh sid, I have just bought some leave-in conditioner for my hols - I have unbelieveably thick, wavy hair, so am hoping it will help when I am in the sun and water all day. I will have to get my glasses on to check my other hair products for alcohol though!

Itwillendinsmiles · 19/07/2012 16:34

We had our 30th wedding anniversary earlier this year... bought my present (just so I'd have something to open!) of plastic pearl earrings, necklace and bracelet from the closing down sale of Bon Marche (I hasten to add that I was in there with my 80 year old Mother - I am not by nature or habit a BM shopper) :o
