MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:05

Just dropping in to say hello really - yikes this thread moves at far too fast a pace for me to keep up with!

Have just bought these (thanks Tracey for the moral support :) ) - not the most exciting purchase, but I feel they will work for my slightly shabby- chic look.

DTI10 · 13/02/2011 20:12

Congratulations to you Fleecy. Wonderful news.

Am loving Warehouse, FC and Great Plains at the moment. Some really lovely items for Spring/Summer when it finally arrives. So cold today.

DarrellRivers · 13/02/2011 20:19

Thankyou all for kind welcome

It is a tricky time of year, particularly related to shoes as starting to think about SS trousers in lighter material or 3/4 length but still so cold around the ankle/foot area.
(dreading getting rid of boots but looking forwards to at the same time)

DarrellRivers · 13/02/2011 20:20

Waves back Tb
And congratulations to fleecy

Re conception, I always thought I wanted to have stopped TTCing by the age of 35, but as it turned out, I was 37 by the time we had DC3.
Now I would say 40/41 would be my stopping point

mrsjuan · 13/02/2011 20:30

drapey link again

MarshaBrady · 13/02/2011 20:35

Oh I love the Supertrash one MrsJ.

Welcome here too, MrsSeanBean Smile

OllieWollieWoo · 13/02/2011 20:37

Marking my place too (5 pages in - how did that happen?!)
Had a nice day - took boys to a good science museum which has a real pirate ship next to it. Lots of runnng around but they had a ball. DH's friend is over and they have booked a weeks sailing to Greece in September - they are now watching Top Gear meaning I can't shred.

Managed a quick run to the shops yesterday - lots of nice silky tops/blouses in Zara. Picked up another H&M breton with the buttons(navy with white stripes) as the white/navy one I brought way back in Oct still looks like new.

Funny reading about DH's reactions to MOAMUs! DH is ticked by the whole thing too. I haven't really told any RL friends about this thread - just tell people I am meeting friends in London - each set of friends assumes its one of the other sets! Think I'm sticking with the grey Warehouse dress, opaques and shoe boots - bit wintery maybe?(they now have it it navy with a t-back btw - v nice).

Fleecy - big congrats to you - such lovely news. Hope you are feeling ok.
Everything - glad you had such a nice time with your friend yesterday, I'm a great believer in the restorative power of scones!
ABO - your caterpiller cake is fantastic - looks just like the one from the profressional blog. Well done you.
AllNewOoh - was it the blouse and peg legs combo you got - I loved it.
Vin - I am convinced I have revealed away too much info on here esp re where I live. Really need to name change but am waiting til after meet up! Hopeless with coming up with new names too - will either be Ollie or something like mooi which is Dutch for nice!
DarrellRivers - hello to you!

Oh yes (if you are still reading after waffly post), DH and I have talked about nothing else but the house this WE. We both loved it but its location isn't ideal (in terms of distance from school, DSs friends etc and a huge petrol station literally right in front of the house) and the price would mean a huge leap in mortgage repayments for now - too scary. So, we will stay put for a couple of years (sob), possibly extend, and look for dream house then. (DH says if house is still available in 6 months, he will put a cheeky offer in tho!)

OllieWollieWoo · 13/02/2011 20:40

Oh yes, is there a Phase Eight code knocking around - even if its just free P&P? Would like the navy top with chiffon sleeves.

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:41

Hi Marsha. :) I am a 'dormant' W&A poster, I've dipped in and out since its inception; but just don't get online often enough now to keep up with the flow and post regularly.

I love that you all know each other's news and what's going on in RL. I would feel a failure (and very rude/uncaring) for my lack of RL awareness. Clearly some of you have been having a tough time. Although I'll still post on purchases now and again, hopefully.

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 20:44

MrsJ I like the FC one best I think. The Supertrash one is a leetle see through (model is wearing black thong Grin).

If you are after something in blue, I like this IO number?

GeorginaWorsley · 13/02/2011 20:44

Tracey I adore the Great Plains Thin Lizzy dress .'Tis a summer Janice, really.Grin

CHOOGIRL · 13/02/2011 20:45

Have been lurking not posting as buy irl, but just wanted to say Fleecy congratulations.

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 20:46

Yes, Ollie, that was exactly it. It was your link, wasn't it? Sorry but thanks for the inspiration. I'll let you know how I get on but I was pleased that with the code I get a full outfit for just over £100.

Zembo · 13/02/2011 20:46

Evening ladies!

Fleecy what lovely news, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS and well done on talking your DH around to the idea. Hope you're feeling well.

Vin you are very wise, I'm sure you'll do the right thing for you.

Looby I can totally relate to what you're saying re: being married to someone who works in a busy, competitive hospital specialty Wink

Re: the TTC question - well it's a subject close to my heart at the moment as I'm in a similar position to your friend. I'll be 40 in a few months and still very keen to have a DC3 (despite my recent miscarriage and near death ectopic experience!) Trouble is I feel much younger than I am I've got loads of energy and generally fit and healthy. It's not the way I planned things (didn't get married until mid 30s) but I think I'll keep trying until about 42 or so. After that time the age diff between my DS and any DC3 would be more than I want really. It's all very individual though - I just don't feel my family is complete yet - I need more chaos in my life Grin

MrsJ some lovely links - I'm still hoping to come to the MOAM, haven't given my outfit any thought though!!! Has anyone else decided what they're going to wear??

MM hope you had a lovely break.

Abo I can only see a lovely pic of you too!

GeorginaWorsley · 13/02/2011 20:48

I had my fourth child at 38.
I think 40/41 would have been cut off for me.

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:49

MrsJ - which Topshop Houlihan lookalikes did you try?

Does anyone have the J Brand? Have heard they are very tight around the calf. But Natalie Massanet looks so good in them schlepping around Dorset, so I figure I could rival her and schlepp around Wiltshire. (She's another Brunette who alwas looks good. Envy )

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 20:49

Ollie LFW should get you free P&P but I think Phase Eight is a Quidco subscriber so you ought to be able to get cash back too.

Zembo · 13/02/2011 20:49

OWW please can you link to your grey warehouse dress - I think I must have missed it. Oh, and the real pirate ship shounds amazing!

AntPants1 · 13/02/2011 20:51

Hi guys what do you think of this necklace from jigsaw. I keep coming back to it....

www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001269/J13043/CR010/accessories/jewellery/ruflle-ribbon-and-gem-necklace

redllamayellowllama · 13/02/2011 20:52

Love the Tibi dress MrsJ. I have found their stuff a but big in the past, so may be worth a punt? No joy on FC dress. I'm going to phone tomorrow (in my head this has become another chore for tomorrow - must sort out my priorities) as have been looking for something like it for a few summers now!

OWW, sounds like you have made exactly the right decision; you sound to be very confident in it. Is this the approval for your extension then?!

Re TTC, I always thought I wanted 3/4 DCs in quick succession. As it stands, I think if we do have more, it'll be in 6/7 years time, when I'll be 35/36. Can't see myself TTC much later than 40.

traceybath · 13/02/2011 20:52

MrsS-B - I too had that issue of vogue and ordered the houlihans but they just weren't that flattering.

And I tried on with white shirt just like Natalie too Hmm

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:53

Thanks Tracey. Geez - what size does one have to be to look good in them?!

mrsjuan · 13/02/2011 20:54

Zembo I am sitting here like this --->Shock That you are only a few months off 40. I would honestly not put you at that from your FB photos.

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 20:55

Aha, lots of you on here tonight. Good, I can pick your brains about what jackets you are all planning to wear for spring?

Must confess that I've hated my casual winter coat since I bought it. I went for something that would keep me warm and I wouldn't mind it getting mucky in the park etc but I never ever feel glam in it, no matter what is underneath.

Cannot make the same mistake for spring, so inspiration required please!
