New thread!

Not that I've been on the old one much Blush)

OP posts:
MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 20:57

I've had my eye on this jacket from Topshop.

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 20:57

Ants I like the necklace very much but then tend to be scared off statement jewellery when I try it on in RL. But it is very pretty, just the right combination of softness from the ribbon and bling.

Bonsoir · 13/02/2011 20:58

MrsSeanBean - I bought some navy Houlihan's a couple of weeks ago. They are tight round the calves, but not unbearably so, and the cut suits me. I have slim and fairly toned thighs - I often wear very short skirts and winter shorts - you would probably need to feel comfortable in that look to feel comfortable in Houlihan's. They are certainly ultra easy to wear.

DTI10 · 13/02/2011 20:59

Zembo - I hope you are resting and making a good recovery.

Fleecy · 13/02/2011 21:01

Thanks everyone! I?m feeling fine as long as I get enough sleep ? going to bed much earlier than usual. Wasn?t going to tell DD as she can?t keep a secret but she asked me if there was a baby in my tummy as it was looking a bit round Shock so we did. DS doesn?t really get it.

bloss I wondered that about cake?s absence!

Loving the FC links ? some beautiful S/S stuff

You?re my imaginary friends here too.

35 cut-off for us here too (I will be 34 when the baby arrives) but only because otherwise we?ll have moved on so much from nappies, buggies etc that it would be harder to go back! Leaving circumstances aside I would say probably 40-42.

Yes, mrsJ like the Supertrash one very much and the IO one. I will wear whatever fits for the MOAM Smile

LOL at ?the restorative power of scones? OWW. Sorry about the house but sure the right place will come along at the right time, whether it?s that one or something even better.

Jackets for spring ? last year I wore a leather biker or a trench. Not wildly exciting but both versatile.

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 21:01

Hmm legs are toned but not stick like. I wear short skirts with abandon but am not personally a deveotee of winter shorts. How do you find the sizing Bonsoir?

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 21:02

devotee not whatever wierd version I had before

traceybath · 13/02/2011 21:02

Bonsoir - do you find the houlihans as flattering though as a pair of indigo skinnies?

I think for me it was just I looked better in other things.

Bonsoir · 13/02/2011 21:02

I got a size bigger than in jeans - 29 instead of 28 - and need to wear a belt to stop them falling down!

Bonsoir · 13/02/2011 21:04

tracey - the thing is, I was just bored of wearing indigo skinnies! I agree that indigo skinnies are ultra flattering and my legs looked incredibly long in them, but I get really bored of wearing jeans and wanted a change.

I want some new white jeans for summer - I adore white jeans and think they are ultra glam. Any ideas?

pickledsiblings · 13/02/2011 21:04

Fleecy, what lovely news Smile.

OWW, probably the right decision about the house.

Zembo, great that you will still be coming to MOAM, I take it you have sorted out you 'cosmetic' issues

MrsJ, I've found you the perfect dress for MOAM Grin.

Thin Lizzie dress is v. nice, may have to order that one.

AntPants1 · 13/02/2011 21:04

Thanks oooh I would wear it with a slightly drapy white or grey tee. They have some nice ones in IO here...

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 21:04

Was it the pockets Tracey? I tried on a cheapy version somewhere and found that oddly, the pockets sort of balanced the look. That's why I am still hankering. I guess the only way is to get a pair and try.

I am larger than you Bonsoir, would need size 30 or maybe 31.

Bonsoir · 13/02/2011 21:05

Yes, Fleecy, fab news! Congratulations!

traceybath · 13/02/2011 21:05

Bonsoir - I like topshop white baxters for reasonable price but Hells has J Brands I think that she really liked.

Bonsoir · 13/02/2011 21:05

I think you just need to try them and see, MrsSeanBean!

mrsjuan · 13/02/2011 21:06

these ones mrssb. Zip at the bottom was an essential feature, not just for decoration!

ooh - I have brown leather jacket that I like for spring. Plus I want a jersey blazer for warmer weather. Think I'd like a Barbour if we're talking practicality.

Sounds like a good, if painful decision OWW.

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 21:07

Thanks MrsJ - they look worth a try (and much less ouch £ wise!)

Fleecy · 13/02/2011 21:08

ants can I recommend these for drapey tees. I liked the brown so much that I bought the khaki and black too! I think they're lovely for the price.

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 21:08

BTW talking Barbours, why is the International quilt sold out everywhere* - what's going on there?

( * would be delighted to be shown otherwise! )

OllieWollieWoo · 13/02/2011 21:12

Zembo - agree that you look way younger than you are! This is the warehouse dress - I got the grey one

here.
This is the newer version in stores at the mo - I like the navy
here
AllNewOooh - thanks for the code - I know its only 2.95 saved but it helps me justify buying it! Am very tempted to copy your MV puchases!
Red - I completely understand re priorities - I have a To Do list every week and last weeks went like this:

  • Do John Lewis order
  • Order black 7/8's from DP
  • Order Phase Eight navy top
  • Clean spare room and bathroom ready for sisters visit
(Guess which one I didn't get around to doing! Smile)
TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 21:15

MrsSeanBean I keep coming back to your Topshop blazer. Not the kind of thing I ever would have picked, but I like the idea of something a bit more tailored. Hmmm. Hmmm.

I keep fancying a bit of rock-chic (Hmm - especially if you knew me!) and have thought about the MV white leather biker.

I also tried a couple of roughed up, tweed jackets - like this IRO one but in black but the shape was all wrong.

Zembo · 13/02/2011 21:16

Thanks MrsJ you're very sweet! and adding to my deluded thinking that my biological age is nearer to yours i.e. 10 years younger Hmm..

DT I'm feeling much better thanks. Done a bit of cooking and baking today so obviously getting back to my usual self (although DH whinging that I should be behaving more like a patient!). I've been totally spoilt in the last few days - our house looks and smells like a florists shop - 9 bouquets so far Smile Hope you're well and work isn't getting on top of you.

OllieWollieWoo · 13/02/2011 21:18

Re jackets - I saw a couple in H&M yesterday. The grey jersey double breasted one number 5 on page one and a shortish fitted blazer in black and in blue that would look good on a night out.

TheAllNewOoooh · 13/02/2011 21:19

Ants I have that IO T-shirt in the khaki. It is one of my favourites, lovely and soft and drapes really well.

MrsJ - where did you find your jersey blazer? I have a Boden Barbouralike which is also practical but doesn't thrill me.
