God Bless our DH's for keeping us real marsha!

Nice scarf carciofi. Didn't a celeb have that one?

pickled, it could be a good few months before I hear officially about the job.

Excited about next week though when I'm off to the 6th form college to see how the video link teaching works. Let's hope the 4 schools that have said they're signing up for Spanish A level still do so!

You have similar chocolate tastes to me notyummy. Love your parenting style!

I will share this with you, the only thing I could see me adapting for summer, on netaporter the blue and white look, here, lovely.

traceybath · 22/02/2011 15:17

Look at the image on the left at the white dress - the dress isn't for sale yet.

traceybath · 22/02/2011 15:40

Sorry - that sounded so bossy! Blush

blossoming · 22/02/2011 15:50

Gorgeous traceybath, are you similar colouring?

I am similar'ish colouring - in fact that could be me with the honey coloured coltish limbs and swinging blonde hair Wink

Thinking it could work brilliantly for when we're away for DH's 40th. But also aware that reiss dresses tend to be cut for tall girls and I am more of the dumpy/munchkin proportions.

I fancy a Bianca Jagger moment - all brushed gold and white. Hmm

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2011 16:04

Lovely dress but I would need serious fake tan to wear it Tracey

Poor dd Bloss hope she's better after a snooze. Love the blue and white, I can't wear white jeans, my thighs are too big, but yours are shredded, so bet they'd be great on you. I'm going to make your welshcakes this evening.

Carciofi I thought I was a scarfaholic until I met you Wink Love stars though, good buy. Hope the heartburn is easing.

LOL at your dh Marsha, NY that's exactly what I do for playdates, what's the point of them otherwise!

Annie just saw TV pictures of Christchurch, so awful, glad everyone you know is OK.

Have had a rather dull day, catching up with college work and defrosting the freezer. Decided not to let the drudgery get me down, and am wearing my version of this Carey Mulligan outfit Have lace top, slightly bell shaped wool knee length skirt, opaques and ankle boots. I know I have a skinny black patent belt somewhere but just can't find it. I have been in a skinny jeans rut since I got the TS ones, am going to go back to rationing jeans to 2-3 days a week as it makes me more imaginative with my wardrobe.

Off for quick run around the park, when we were there yesterday the sun came out for a little while, I sat on a bench and dreamed of summer Very murky today though, don't think I'll need my sunglasses.

blossoming · 22/02/2011 16:29

verity, not white jeans, but the Wrap shorts I like come in white, or I may get a white skirt from Boden. I'll definitely put the blue top on my list. I'm noticing everything is tucked in these days. Hard to get my head round.
Good luck with the welshcakes!
I'm impressed with your outfits. I can't get out of my jeans and polo necks right now!

Emo76 · 22/02/2011 17:10

tracey that's a lovely looking dress.

the trouser search continues, got these from Banana Republic today and they are great but I wish they did a longer leg length too as with heels they are a bit too short. Am still trying to find some in a more "modern" style too.

half term is exhausting isn't it?! my big industry black tie do is tomorrow evening, wearing this dress with some LKB nude heels and these earrings. I think the whole look could be a bit wedding guesty but frankly I have reached the point of no return and at least will add some colour to a fairly dull crowd! Considered black shoes, tights and black jacket with dress but it looked a bit dowdy when tried on.

My folks are over from Oz and are looking after my girls tomorrow as I am getting hair cut and blow dried for first time in MONTHS (with a new hairdresser - no doubt Iwill have to come home and style it again myself..!) and have experimented with that L'Oreal spray tan can thing this morning - I don't seem to have developed any colour yet, knowing my luck I will be patchy, let's hope the lighting is dim!!!

carciofi · 22/02/2011 17:24

Tracey, thanks for the info on the Crumpet cardigan. I have emailed them for exact measurements as they will only exchange not refund. The white dress is gorgeous, so is your red one, Emo. Have fun tomorrow night.

Bloss, I like the blue and white. Jemima Khan has that scarf, unfortunately I don't have her hair or money. :o Hope your DD sleeps better tonight.

Verity, your outfit sounds very chic. Yes, I need to join Scarfaholics Anon. I am a sucker for accessories!

Bonsoir · 22/02/2011 17:36

Spent the day in Versailles with a girlfriend who owns a massive and beautiful house there, just a few steps from the park and château. We had a lovely lunch at home with her teenaged children (who I have known forever and have often holidayed with) and then went for a walk and adult gossip at the Angélina pâtisserie in the park. My friend told me a very long and hugely funny story about another 45 year old friend in mid-life crisis and then, oh coincidence, we bumped into the same friend having a romantic walk in the park with one of her young lover. There are clearly going to be many more instalments to this story.

Am off to the cinema (La Bella Gente) this evening with another girlfriend and I spent the whole of yesterday afternoon having tea in Mariage Frères with a girlfriend who had popped back to Paris from NY for a few days' holiday.

This is fun! Smile

traceybath · 22/02/2011 17:40

Oh Emo - you will look fab - absolutely love that dress and ear-rings!

KILDARE4 · 22/02/2011 19:02

Evening Ladies, Lovely outfit Verity.

Emo You will look amazing tomorrow night that dress and acessories are fab!

Bloss Love the blue and white look.

My name is Kildare and I too am a scarfoholic!

NY Sounds like my kind of playdate!

FritziGreenEyes · 22/02/2011 19:47

notyummy That is exactly my approach to playdates Grin.

tracey Lovely dress, as is blossoming's summer look with white denim. Wasn't bonsoir looking for a pair?

bloss Hope you'll get a good rest tonight and DD will sleep better.

verity Can't open your link but love the sound of Carey Mulligan outfit. I'm also stuck in a skinny + top rut at the moment.

emo Yay for trousers. Keep on hunting! Love your red dress for your do tomorrow! Enjoy your trip to the hairdresser tomorrow.

bonsoir Your day sounds perfect Smile.

ollie Hope you have survived your SIL's visit and your DSs enjoyed their pasta sauce with bacon anyway!

Just had a glass of champagne, lovely!

blossoming · 22/02/2011 20:03

Would it be wrong to surmise that the scarfaholics are of Irish descent?

KILDARE4 · 22/02/2011 20:20

Very observent Bloss we must be predisposed to good taste acessorising! [WINK]

OllieWollieWoo · 22/02/2011 20:27

Fritzi - are you celebrating something or was the glass of champers a 'just because its a Tuesday' one? Smile

SIL came in like a whirlwind! DS1 was very badly behaved - really loud and bolshy - kept having strops too. I was exasperated and ended up shouting - much to SIL's disapproval! Not a good visit! Eating a curly wurly whilst watching Glee to recover.

I'm with you on the hands off playdates NY - have a friend who still insists on staying for her sons (says DS wants her too but think its more of a control thing in that she wants to be needed iykwim). Really annoys me as I have to entertain her too!

blossoming · 22/02/2011 20:29

Very true Kildare!
I am post workout and shower wearing the Gap skinny cargos and a Breton with ballet flats. Feels good. DH approved.

emo, where's your name from? I love the red dress, btw.

carciofi · 22/02/2011 20:30

Bloss, yes, it is the weather!

Bonsoir, sounds like you are having a lovely week.

blossoming · 22/02/2011 20:33

Meant to say, bonsoir, it sounds like the perfect day.

ollie, well done on surviving. Am very Envy of both the curly wurly and the champagne fritzi.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/02/2011 20:35

ollie No reason at all for champagne but there was some left in the bottle from the weekend and I don't like things to go to waste Smile. Sounds like you need Wine too!

Today a sales person tried to convince me that a dress looked lovely on me. It was totally shapeless and cost almost 300 Euro for very flimsy silky material which was static and kept clinging to my legs Hmm. It's a small shop I used to buy most of my clothes but they have become so pushy that I made my excuses and left.
