We’ve all had to press pause on travel plans this year, while reminiscing about the great travel experiences we’ve had. While it hasn’t been easy, it’s also been a chance for us to reflect on the people we’re grateful to travel with, and think about the first trips we’ll take as things start to get better. Now that we’re almost ready to step out into the world again, Skyscanner wants to find out what you are looking forward to doing on your next holiday.

Here’s what Skyscanner has to say: “The past few months have been a truly eye-opening experience to what life would be like without travel. It has made us reflect and appreciate the impact travel has on us personally. As the world slowly opens up again and we start making plans to travel safely to reunite with the people and places we’ve missed, it also has us wondering how travel’s role has evolved in our lives.”

So we are asking you how have the past few months changed the way you see travel? Will you explore closer to home, or are you itching to complete your travel bucket list? What will be your travel goals - creating more memories with the family, or prioritising more time for yourself? What are the things you’ve missed the most when travelling?

Whatever your top list of things to do on your next holiday are, share on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

After many many weeks at home and in my garden, I am looking forward to see my children running around in the sun, jumping into swimming pools - and having my meals cooked for me.

U.K. trip planned and just getting away from the day to day routine and homeschooling. I will be reading many, many books!

Definitely looking forward to being able to share holidays with my daughter, son in law and two little grandchildren. Have so missed them.

Spending hours in the swimming pool with the family and enjoying not having to cook every day.

I'll be very happy just to be somewhere different - ideally sitting outside with a chilled glass of something watching the world go by.

Right now I'm not too fussy where that is.

We have just had weekend breaks in London for the last two years, I would love a week in the sun somewhere, preferably Greece

We are just looking forward to being together and relaxing. home schooling and working is difficult and a lot of guilt at being together..yet not being able to have that special time.
We are happy being in the UK...no added prssure of flights and worries of getting home if a lockdown happens.

I would just love to go somewhere where the kids can be outside and be free. We spent far too long not being able to leave the house due to shielding, so free range is desired. If there are other kids for them to play with then even better.

Sleeping!

Sunbathing, drinking cocktails, swimming, exploring places, water parks, relaxing, late nights, sea, beach, boats, reading, hanging out with family, just everything sigh. Not going to be for a while though but can't wait!

We live abroad and had to cancel not just a holiday to Mexico but our annual trip home to the U.K. I am desperate to go to the U.K. and see my family and friends.

We’re now actually planning to move back so our first holiday once we do that will be a train journey around Northern Europe, seeing all the places we’ve missed out on while living on another continent and making a dent on our carbon footprint from all the transatlantic flights

The food, the family time... the sightseeing! Not sure when it will be though.

I'm most looking forward to a change of scene in a beautiful place with my family, away from it all.

Lazing by the pool, reading lots of books, sitting outside a bar in sunshine having a glass of crisp white wine. We've moved our planned holiday to next May and I already have a countdown on my phone!

Going to iHop in the US with the DC and DH. Wherever we're visiting it's our tradition for the first (usually jet lagged) morning. We end up ordering stacks of fluffy, stodgy American pancakes at around 5am and it signifies the start of our holiday.

Right now the idea of us getting to the US without a vaccine (and extortionate travel insurance) feels a pipe dream. Hopefully by the end of next year I'll be watching DS pour blueberry syrup like water while DD covers everything in strawberry and DH and I drink cup after cup of terrible but unlimited coffee.

Simple pleasures and the start of something lovely.

I can’t wait to sit on a white sand beach next to a clear warm sea.

The past few months without travel have highlighted to me how I see myself as part of one whole collective world. I'm lucky to have traveled a lot all over the world, I've found it easy to hop on a plane to wherever I wanted and instantly be at ease somewhere else. Since lockdown, I've found myself feeling trapped and frustrated at how small and contained my "new world" is. I cannot wait for travel restrictions to lift, I'm desperate to explore again! I love to be within different nature, to meet new people, taste different food, pick up new language.

We’ve had to reschedule our Summer holiday and we were also booked to go to Disneyland Paris for New Year which we’ve rescheduled too! I’m just looking forward to time together as a family, with lots of walks and trips out and taking the girls to the beach to paddle and build sandcastles and eat huge ice creams!! Hope we get the chance to do it all soon.

I just want to go on holiday again, anywhere would do, but realistically it's more likely to be a few days in the UK later this summer, covid-19 permitting.

I let my passport run out as I was waiting to get a blue UK one and was just about to renew it to go away this autumn when lockdown happened. I will delay now and go next year to either Europe or North America - somewhere relatively rural like the Canadian mountains or the New England states or somewhere in Italy or Spain, which has some historical landmark I want to see. I usually go with a singles tour group.

I'm going away next week, not quite the two weeks in Greece I had planned but it's a change of scene (especially after home working all through lockdown!) and I'm really looking forward to spending time with family. I just hope the weather forecast improves!

We're looking forward to getting over to see my partner's parents.
We haven't seen them for 6 years and have had 6 years of hell and worry, we've nearly lost my father in law several times due to heart and lung problems which has been torture.
Our children are desperate to go and see their Nannie and Grandad.
So, when we finally get enough money together to get the whole family out to see them, that's what we'd be doing.
Spending some well needed family time together, catch up on so many things and embrace every moment. ❤️

I don't know when I'll be able to afford a holiday again but I've decided that I'm going to get a lot fitter between now and then.

The worry about Covid has highlighted how unfit and overweight I am and I know I feel self conscious and it holds me back from doing everything in holiday.

My dream holiday is a trip to Italy to see Pompeii. If I ever make it I'm determined to be fit enough to see it properly.

As a first time mom, I was looking forward during the summer months to visit the touristy places in the UK. The top two were York and Blackpool, which I think my baby would have enjoyed.
