We’ve all had to press pause on travel plans this year, while reminiscing about the great travel experiences we’ve had. While it hasn’t been easy, it’s also been a chance for us to reflect on the people we’re grateful to travel with, and think about the first trips we’ll take as things start to get better. Now that we’re almost ready to step out into the world again, Skyscanner wants to find out what you are looking forward to doing on your next holiday.

Here’s what Skyscanner has to say: “The past few months have been a truly eye-opening experience to what life would be like without travel. It has made us reflect and appreciate the impact travel has on us personally. As the world slowly opens up again and we start making plans to travel safely to reunite with the people and places we’ve missed, it also has us wondering how travel’s role has evolved in our lives.”

So we are asking you how have the past few months changed the way you see travel? Will you explore closer to home, or are you itching to complete your travel bucket list? What will be your travel goals - creating more memories with the family, or prioritising more time for yourself? What are the things you’ve missed the most when travelling?

Whatever your top list of things to do on your next holiday are, share on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I am going away next week with my dc to stay with family abroad....not a beach holiday type of trip but I have not seen them in a year 😯
I'm looking forward to spend lots of quality time with my relatives and friends, also my dc have really missed their cousins.

We are really hoping to go to Disneyland next year if prices are not too high and covid has reduced enough so that you don't have to wear masks!!

LITTLEMUTLEY23 · 12/07/2020 08:18

The whole experience from packing to passports to checking in at the airport, the flight and just visiting some where totally new with the family

MojoJojo71 · 12/07/2020 10:59

We had to cancel a trip to Venice where I’d promised we’d have an ice cream on a gondola so looking forward to doing that once it’s safe to do so

Nquartz · 12/07/2020 14:45

Only a uk seaside break but looking forward to the beach, bike rides, fish & chips on the sea front, picnics & just getting away.

Sixtyfourzoolane · 12/07/2020 20:49

The past few months have put me off traveling for the moment, but am excited to go abroad next year! We are headed to Portugal next Summer, and I can’t wait to explore the local area and eat good food, and relax - I think we all deserve to unwind after the stresses of this year, especially as a nurse!

Swimming in the sea
Cocktails in the sun
Evening strolls
Wearing a bikini!!

ohdannyboy · 13/07/2020 10:07

I am looking forward to endless blue skies, eating freshly cooked food, seeing new scenery, and trying out our Spanish, which we have been leaning in lockdown !

feejee · 13/07/2020 10:12

Ideally on holiday I like to eat out, and let someone else do the cooking and dishes. I would be happy this year to head to the seaside and have fish and chips in a tray with a can of pop!

Forsythe88 · 13/07/2020 17:23

Going to the beach and farm with my 5 month old who barely knows the world outside our house and my 22 month old who is struggling with the dramatic change in her day to day life and no idea why. We save coppers and smalls silvers for a day out fund that we were llanknvbon using this summer but have kept adding to it and its probably enough for a family weekend next year, maybe cbeebies land!

flowersfromheaven · 13/07/2020 17:33

I am looking forward to not having to keep my distant' s from people and being able to hit that dance floor for a good dance.

claza93 · 13/07/2020 20:49

Can't wait to take my little boy to the beach

buckley1983 · 13/07/2020 23:44

We have very rarely been out of the UK on holiday & the current crisis has made me even more keen to stay in the UK & enjoy the beautiful countryside & coastline around us!
I'm so looking forward to exploring the Norfolk coast next year - it was postponed from this year, but the bonus is that we will have a new little one amongst our number next year so it's well worth the wait!
Looking forward to being on the beach, being around others without constantly having to watch our distance & being able to hug the friends & family we have not been able to for so long now.
I will treasure every second!

Ged94 · 14/07/2020 08:16

We're planning on doing more holidays in the UK until a vaccine is invented or the virus is eradicated, 20 weeks pregnant with my first child so being overly cautious at the moment!

Ironmanrocks · 14/07/2020 08:35

We are heading off in a camper van for a few days, will probably wild camp too so lots of walking. Then a hotel for the last evening so we can get clean and relax. I want to see the stars, spend time with my ageing dog and family. Uninterrupted!

starlight36 · 14/07/2020 10:46

We have two breaks booked - one camping in a forest and the other a UK beach resort. I am looking forward to my children having a real change of scene - no school work hunched up over the kitchen table and lots of fun outside. Hopefully the weather will be nice but actually this year the change if scene and lots of fresh air will be perfect!

Feargalthecat · 14/07/2020 13:52

I'm hoping our holiday to Turkey still goes ahead in September so I'm looking forward to that rush of hot air as I step off the plane along with the sounds of crickets ringing in my ear signalling my holiday is about to start.

After having worked right through the worst of this pandemic with no leave I cannot wait to sit next to the sea for every meal with my family and take in the views, sounds and smells. It's these thoughts that have kept me going.

LimedTimbers · 14/07/2020 15:49

We are going to a cottage in the middle of nowhere. It does however have a pool. So I am looking forward to swimming, walking, just relaxing and being somewhere different. This last few months have felt like groundhog day and I am looking forward to seeing a different 4 walls

1moreRep · 14/07/2020 20:24

skiing, sight seeing and sunbathing, lots of holidays needed

EvilHerbivore · 15/07/2020 00:09

Seeing Mickey! After a bajillion years saving, finally booked Disneyland only for it to be postponed - so looking forward to actually seeing the kids faces when they see it all

Yester · 15/07/2020 08:07

Swimming in a lake. Sleeping in the shade. Eating food not cooked by me.

NobbyButtons · 15/07/2020 13:43

I'm just looking forward to seeing the sea again when we go to Devon. We live in the Midlands and I haven't been to the coast since last August.

ailsasheldon · 15/07/2020 14:39

We are in the middle of a week going ground the UK. I’ve found it pretty stressful and not enjoyable. We have missed out as a family on three school trips, 3 meet ups with family , 3 weekend breaks and a weeks holiday. We have used up nearly all our annual leave but in my dreams we would [email protected] abroad somewhere far away all inclusive

NettleTea · 15/07/2020 18:26

a chance to get away from it all and relax. It feels as if its been full on for the last few months. Id like a really low key all inclusive, but somewhere small

becca3210 · 15/07/2020 20:59

Seeing my baby paddle in the sea for the first time
