Annual Insight end of year thread: chances to win!

The time has come round again for the Insight team here at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to find out what you’ve enjoyed taking part in this year and what you’d like to see in the future.

There’s the chance to win:

In 2018 we have given away over £60,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers for giving feedback, completing surveys or posting on threads Smile

This year we’ve really loved seeing Mumsnet users create the Mumsnet mattresses with Dreams, reading Mumsnetters’ feedback on the new BaByliss Big Hair Care, running our first male only product test with Below The Belt, and giving MNers’ children the opportunity to build their own bears with Build-a-Bear. We’ve also really enjoyed the press coverage from our Teachers’ Presents survey and hearing about your childhood toys in a sponsored discussion for BRIO.

For the chance to win one of the above prizes, post on the thread below:
  • Sharing what you’ve enjoyed taking part in this year or appreciated reading about OR
  • Tell us what you’d like to product test next year

Most of our product test and surveys are on site, but we also have a lot of projects just for our Insight Panel, as well as regularly giving them a heads up about product tests and surveys we’re running. If you’re not yet on our panel, you can sign up here. You can select how often you’ll be emailed, and you can leave at any time if you realise it’s not for you.

Thanks all for your time over the year and for your feedback!

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I am adding my vote for migraine relieving products. As an ex sufferer completely obliterated by them for days (projectile vomitting, head ripped apart with searing pain too bad to sleep) I think something has to be done to help. It's like having the worst toothache x 10, another thing that is worse than giving birth.

I’d like to see hair removal devices and pillows tested (pillow idea agree totally with a previous poster that you can spend a fortune before you find the one)

I have loved the book groups and was lucky enough to win a couple of free copies of some of the books of the month.

I struggle to get out to a book club but love reading, the mumsnet book groups are a great way to get motivated to find the time to read. They've made a huge difference to me.

I liked the Build- A - Bear test, DD was delighted with her surprise. I would have liked to do the Birchbox rest or the Babyliss one. I would agree with the person who mentioned products to encourage coding for kids upthread.

Enjoyed testing out the Gusto food box (or was that last year Blush) and also completely the Totally Money product test which was ok.
I'd love to test cars - I'm a complete petrol head but find car dealerships quite intimidating. I have plucked up the courage to test drive a couple of cars this year but got the feeling I wasn't being taken seriously - so haven't changed my car yet. Would like to try some electric cars.
Otherwise beauty products or perfume, clothing, food and gadgets. In fact love trying anything new!

Me and DD enjoyed the Pink Parcel sanpro trial - especially the sweet treats and make-up samples as well as the different pads and tampons.

I most enjoyed Build a Bear and Amazon fire kids, because these made my DC so happy so what more could I ask for. It also gave them chance to do/get something they wouldn't have otherwise, and made me a lot more informed about all of the kids safety features on the Amazon fire kids, which means that I feel a lot happier with them using it

I'd love to try some kitchen gadgets, things that reduce time you need to spend in the kitchen, easy to use with good results, since I spend so much time in the kitchen and would love to free up more time to spend with DC

I'd also love more vouchers for an activity, like the build a Bear ones, as I think experiences and memories are more important than things, and I'm always looking for new things to do but don't want to waste £ if it's not something they will enjoy (maybe isn't as child friendly as they say) and reading other people's experiences would help me to decide whether to take DC, and if we were chosen I'd know whether to take them back and could help other parents with honest reviews

I would love to test a pan set, I find that they are either too heavy to use easily, let out too much steam, or are incredibly hard to clean afterwards, so Mumsnet, can you find a good all-round pan set for some of use lovely Mumsnetters test ? thanks

I tested and reviewed the Mamia nappies for you, I have managed to convert my 'brand' loving friends to them. I would love to test window cleaners - I cannot find a brand which will leave them streak free (other than the white vinegar and newspaper plus elbow grease). Thanks for all of the opportunities you have given us this year to test products. Happy New Year lovely Mumnetters.

I tested the Sky App for children for you, so thanks for that, we are still watching it. I would like to be able to test a pair of shoes which will stand a day with a boisterous 5 year old - and see how they look at the end of the test. Thanks.

Hello lovely Mumsnetters, I was not selected as a tester this year, but loved reading the honest and full reviews. I would love to test a foldable pram which you can get in and out of a car with one hand. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I've been so lucky testing out school uniform (£25.00 worth which was very generous). Fairy liquid detergent and softener as well as yeo vally yogurts. Missed out on the loveabella and babylis big hair-looked great. Looking forward to trying out more stuff next year. I only started on insight panel half way through the year and have enjoyed the surveys and opportunities to win.

I'd be really interested in palm oil free ranges - food and toiletries. I was sad to see how ubiquitous it is.

Enjoyed testing the fairy non bio, and I am a saddo and like filling out the questionnaires sent out.
I'd like to test anything and everything, love trying new things and giving feedback, although I'd really like to test a dual floor cleaner- one that washes hard floors and carpeted/rugs, (there's a bissell one i dream about), I'd like to see how they really do with real families!

My DS really loved the Bsnjo Robinson test and we ended up signing up after the test ended as he wanted to keep writing to Banjo. It has been great to get him to want to write regular notes.I really appreciated that the founders listened to the feedback provided and adapted the pricing.
I would love to see some more educational fun subscriptions to test. There seem to be so many around now it is hard to work out what they all offer. Also agree some of the coding apps / toys as this is an area o know nothing about.
