The time has come round again for the Insight team here at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to find out what you’ve enjoyed taking part in this year and what you’d like to see in the future.

There’s the chance to win:

In 2018 we have given away over £60,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers for giving feedback, completing surveys or posting on threads Smile

This year we’ve really loved seeing Mumsnet users create the Mumsnet mattresses with Dreams, reading Mumsnetters’ feedback on the new BaByliss Big Hair Care, running our first male only product test with Below The Belt, and giving MNers’ children the opportunity to build their own bears with Build-a-Bear. We’ve also really enjoyed the press coverage from our Teachers’ Presents survey and hearing about your childhood toys in a sponsored discussion for BRIO.

For the chance to win one of the above prizes, post on the thread below:

  • Sharing what you’ve enjoyed taking part in this year or appreciated reading about OR
  • Tell us what you’d like to product test next year

Most of our product test and surveys are on site, but we also have a lot of projects just for our Insight Panel, as well as regularly giving them a heads up about product tests and surveys we’re running. If you’re not yet on our panel, you can sign up here. You can select how often you’ll be emailed, and you can leave at any time if you realise it’s not for you.

Thanks all for your time over the year and for your feedback!

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

NightmareDaemon · 04/01/2019 23:09

I woud like a school uniform compare product test to determinethe best one. My recommendation would be Aldi vs Asda vs Next vs M&S vs ???

Enigma222 · 04/01/2019 23:25

I would like to test more brands of baby food, as you never know what new food choices you may decide to change to.

Sugarhouse · 05/01/2019 00:43

I have loved testing fairy products and Yeo valley fromage frais this year. I would love to test a cordless dyson or shark would make cleaning up after my little one so much easier

carolineandbaby · 05/01/2019 08:35

Ive had so much fun testing this year for you. I’ve tried things I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise.

I’m currently pregnant and would love to test maternity related items

AngelDog · 05/01/2019 14:47

I enjoyed the Brio thread, especially since I was one of the winners!

There aren't many actual products I'd want to test due to multiple allergies / chemical sensitivities. Testing things online eg websites would work well.

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 05/01/2019 15:21

I was excited to test fairy non bio this year! I really enjoyed reading the reviews on the Babyliss big hair was devastated not to be chosen but I did go and buy one from the mn product test reviews Grin

WarmHugs · 05/01/2019 16:28

I’ve loved reading all the reviews, because I’m nosey and indecisive. 😂

I’d love to test any fitness products, holidays and food!

EsmeeMerlin · 05/01/2019 17:33

I enjoyed testing the different nappy brands in 2018, they came in very useful and I would like to test more children's and baby products.

Bouledeneige · 05/01/2019 23:11

My daughter and I really appreciated the Balneum hair products - both with lots and lots of hair and itchy scalps. They were lovely.

I'd love to test any other sensitive skin or organic skin products, hair styling tools like the Babyliss hair care products, healthy eating products (like box meals), kitchen gadgets or tools, handheld vacuums.

I really appreciate the opportunities that's Mumsnet and their partners make available. It's a real bonus that I was completely unaware for a long time after joining.

Notveryadventurousname · 06/01/2019 07:05

Loved the dreams mattress test, has made such a difference to teen DD's sleep. Thank you!!

misskatamari · 06/01/2019 09:47

I've tested the Lidl pull-ups and am so chuffed to find them, they're brilliant! Things I'd like to test would probably be anything household, food or beauty related. We're out of the baby stage now so not interested in baby product tests anymore

MrsShaff · 06/01/2019 16:54

Im very happy that I got the chance to test Balneum shampoo and body lotion because it sorted my son's itchy scalp. I'm testing fairy non bio products at the moment. I'm feeling very lucky that I've been chosen to test these products.

Pollaidh · 06/01/2019 18:50

Have appreciated reading about the domestic violence campaign and was pleased to see the results get into mainstream press and raise awareness.

I'd like to test the Dyson air wrap too, my hair is a nightmare.

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 06/01/2019 19:48

I tested nappies, was that this year? Feel like I’ve had a child in nappies forever Grin 2019 I hope we will become a nappy-free household so I guess I would like to test ANYTHING ELSE GrinGrin

I would like to test... skin/hair products, I think. Serums or moisturisers or mousses or sth like that. or wine, I’m always up for testing wine.

Winterhatsandgloves · 06/01/2019 20:03

I enjoy reading the testing and trying if products. Sine I haven't heard of it thought of using or doing so it's a good way to find out about things and see if it's something we might like to try or include in our family life. I'd like to be a tester myself ( and the dc and dh are also interested :) Loads of things I'd like to test, financial planning, life coaches, hols, household things, toys, anything really we like new things to think about and do:)

I even like the baby ones because it reminds me of when the dc were babies. Can't test those as sadly don't have a baby and absolutely no plans to have any more!

Samah09 · 06/01/2019 20:34

I have loved reading reviews of products posted by other members. I have appreciated being chosen to review explore learning for my two children. This was great fun and useful for them too. More recently, I have struggled to get the birchbox delivered for review, through no fault of Mumsnet. I big thumbs up to Emma for her help and great communication.
I would love to test more products and especially services available and relevant to my 5 and 7 year old such as Kumon learning. Thanks again and I hope everyone has a great year x

mrsdeedow · 06/01/2019 21:34

I loved taking part in the birch box product test. Truth be told, in the past I thought nah it's too expensive and will probably be things I don't like. Well it got a new subscriber from me after testing some brilliant things that came in it!

mrsdeedow · 06/01/2019 21:36

I should add that this year I would love to test something perfect for the teen boys in my life! Its always harder to find older kids testing so they are left out normally!

Stuckandsad · 06/01/2019 22:00

I loved testing birchbox💖💖 amazing opportunity! I would love to product test Nintendo switch, anything hotel chocolat and the air wrap!

LJH79 · 07/01/2019 06:44

I really like reading product reviews and really sways my opinions. I’d like to test a food processor and an electric toothbrush. Can’t find a good one that I like.

Mumof1boy2girls · 07/01/2019 12:57

I have a 4yr old boy who has no naps during the day, but always hits that lull between 5-6pm. But when I push him through this by playing games with him and keeping him awake, it seems as if he hits a high and isn't down Till after 10pm now. I've tried the whole down at 6-7pm thing & he has got up just after 9pm then it's play time. Weird thing is, him & both his sister's (11 & 13) are all brilliant sleepers & he was going down at 8pm before the clocks changed. Any advice??

queenoftheschoolrun · 07/01/2019 13:44

Tested the uniform name tags kit and then the Tesco uniform! Both very useful if a little dull.
I'd really like to test experiences - restaurants, films etc.

And I really miss the Book of the Month draws. Could they come back?

Seb19521710 · 07/01/2019 16:48

I have loved answering the surveys and knowing that my opinion matters. I would love to test products in the future

Ammari515253 · 07/01/2019 16:55

I haven't product tested anything but I'd love to product test any keep fit products for myself or educational toys for my toddler daughter.
