Which stains do you worry about most? Find out what Mumsnet users told Fairy Non Bio

NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

tumeric! we love curry but that never comes out

79lauren79 · 25/06/2018 20:00

I can get most things out if you catch them soon enough except sun cream which I find always leaves that yellow tinge to whites.

Rufus27 · 25/06/2018 20:29

Blood and anything tomato based.

Crushedgrapesworkforme · 25/06/2018 21:00

Banana, nectarine, peach juice, red wine, oil based from cooking meat), soy sauce, chilli oil, lily pollen,

Piffpaffpoff · 25/06/2018 22:45

I’m not scared of any stains. What an odd concept...

I am however battling dirty sand on the knees of DDs leggings at the moment.

Headfullofdreams · 25/06/2018 22:49

Blood, ketchup, anything red!

foxferry · 25/06/2018 23:10

Mud on school uniform wont budge. The grease from dressings and oily food you think have gone, but once clothes are washed and dried...still there. And the nasty smears from the side of our filthy car Blush

stickladilove · 26/06/2018 06:53

Ketchup
Turmeric based curries
Blood
Tomato based sauce
Banana
Cherry

LapinR0se · 26/06/2018 07:17

Most of these are enzyme based stains that fairy non-bio cannot remove.

Churrolicious · 26/06/2018 08:08

Beetroot. I love beetroot. Don't cook with it any more because I'm worried DC will make themselves / their clothes / our upholstery look like a crime scene.

DrZoidbergsTentacles · 26/06/2018 11:21

Anything red like ketchup, tomato or red pepper sauces, orange melon is a devil to get out, and slime, slime, slime!

llynnnn · 26/06/2018 12:56

tomato based pasta sauces, board marker on white polo t-shirts and sun cream!

MargoLovebutter · 26/06/2018 13:47

Lily pollen. No idea what is in that stuff but it stains like nothing on earth!

brownmouse · 26/06/2018 15:48

Definitely blood! Too many menstruating women in this house and the menopause is just adding to the chaos. I sort of wish it was the 70s and I could just get brown bed linen...

It's the mix of white bedding and "night time" sanitary towels that don't 'reach' to the front and back...

ANYHOW yes, I am afeared of the blood and sheets combo. It's loads of work to soak the stains out. Maybe we need a BLOODIED SHEETS product?

MismatchedStripySocks · 26/06/2018 17:41

Nail varnish on clothes is a right pain to get off plus anything like bolognaise or chilli. Have lost a few lovely items over the years Sad

ScrubTheDecks · 26/06/2018 17:58

Oily tomato: i.e cooked tomato in any kind of oil, so Italian sauces etc.

Curry: tumeric etc.

Banana! Leaves behind horrible brown spots that are impossible to shift!

VanGoghsDog · 26/06/2018 20:00

Oil. Cooking oil. Can never get it out, so many tops ruined by a little drip of extra virgin olive oil!

Greyhound22 · 26/06/2018 20:36

Grease and blackcurrant

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 26/06/2018 21:17

Tomato sauces, greasy marks and school paint

scatteredglitter · 27/06/2018 06:52

Oil / butter on silk tops

Tomato sauce on anything

Sun cream on collars / edges

Whites- I struggle to keep them white

Ivory / cream / I struggle to keep the colour from going white / bleached

likeacrow · 27/06/2018 08:39

Oil. Or anything oily. Just won't shift! Plus sun cream on white clothes, particularly collar areas, won't shift even after a 60c wash. Maybe someone needs to bring out a non-staining sun cream!

flippit81 · 27/06/2018 09:07

Are you really scared of stains? Really? Ridiculous concept.

Theimpossiblegirl · 27/06/2018 09:36

I'm not scared of stains but now my teens have discovered fake tan I may become scary myself very soon.
