Which stains do you worry about most? Find out what Mumsnet users told Fairy Non Bio

NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Nail polish, courtesy of DDs annoying habit of not securing tops on bottles.

Also turmeric, the swine!

2gorgeousboys · 24/06/2018 09:48

With two ballroom dancing boys who wear white collared, tight fighting shirts for competitions, the combination of sweat, fake tan and make up is my nemesis! Especially when the shirts have to be sparkling white and are worn for long days full of dancing under the bright lights which show everything!

Tomato sauce and sun cream

littlemssilly · 24/06/2018 12:33

There should've been a trigger warning on this thread. I am extremely scared of stains, especially Heinz tomato soup.
I won't sleep tonight.

ElMarineroBaila · 24/06/2018 15:46

Shit mostly. And tomato.

voyager50 · 24/06/2018 16:24

blood - if you don't get it in cold, salt water straight away there's no chance of getting it out properly

Also - yelling seat/deodorant stains, especially on white tops!

Huffpot · 24/06/2018 16:31

The whiteboard pens the kids write with at school! I can't shift them off their yellow polo shirts 😲

PickAChew · 24/06/2018 16:56

Tomato. Ds2's white polo shirts often end up in a 60C wash because that's the only way to shift the stains. That's the ones he hasn't ruined with permanent marker.

Curry and Ink

AimlesslyPurposeful · 24/06/2018 18:59

Chicken tikka sauce.

My dog pinched a piece of chicken tikka and promptly ran upstairs and ate it on my bed.
Bedding had a boil wash but the orange stains remain.

littleme96 · 24/06/2018 19:13

Tomato sauce, strawberry juice, blood, oil and sweat stains.

AWholeLottaRosie · 24/06/2018 23:19

Curry, turmeric, and anything tomato-based

Caribbeanyesplease · 25/06/2018 07:23

Beetroot!

FozBoz · 25/06/2018 08:19

Baby pop. My 4 mo produces it in frightening volumes Shock

Also mud from my older boy’s football kit in winter Football

QueenOfPharts · 25/06/2018 08:40

Suncream and sauces with tomato in them. They need fast action and line drying!

TheSpottedZebra · 25/06/2018 10:58

'Scared of' is a huge step too far, but suncream stains are the ones I don't expect to be able to shift.

Byrdie · 25/06/2018 11:42

The absolute worst stains that we have in our house are stains my husband gets on his trousers or T-shirts which are from his bike. What on earth is on that bike chain? I've never managed to get out any of the stains! Like grease or a thick oil? Anyone else with crazy cycle mad husbands have this problem?

Cutyourshakehole · 25/06/2018 12:24

School pens and baby poo

CMOTDibbler · 25/06/2018 13:53

I can't get worked up about much, but I hate shifting bike grease and suncream marks

HectorlovesKiki · 25/06/2018 14:42

Any tomato based product or grease.

Chapman31 · 25/06/2018 15:43

Raspberries, grease and tomato based sauces.

turkeyboots · 25/06/2018 15:53

Blood. Poor DS has lots of nosebleeds at night and manages to get blood everywhere.... Like a horror movie sometimes! Can't always quite get it out of light colored bedding.

queenoftheschoolrun · 25/06/2018 15:57

Berries, tomato based sauces and oil!

Allotment123 · 25/06/2018 18:12

Bright orange pollen, blood and ketchup, oil as well

melodybirds · 25/06/2018 19:37

Ketchup. It stains white tops so easily. Also dried in chocolate.
