Which stains do you worry about most? Find out what Mumsnet users told Fairy Non Bio

NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Blood. Grass stains. Oil. Tomato sauce.

goose1964 · 23/06/2018 13:54

Curry and tomato based sauces both seem to dye the fabric

LittleMe03 · 23/06/2018 14:39

Tomato sauces! Absolute nightmare!

And ink on white school shirts 😩

torthecatlady · 23/06/2018 15:48

Tomato based sauce on a white top.
Period blood on white sheets Blush
Oil... how on earth does anyone manage to get grease out of anything?! Nothings seems to work for me.

MerlinsBeard87 · 23/06/2018 15:51

Pollen, tomato and sun cream are the worst

thesockgap · 23/06/2018 16:00

Curry, pasta sauce, beans... anything red or orange and particularly if it's oil based. I spilled some curry on my white PJs and it's still there even after about 10 washes :(
And ditto to the PP who says blood after nosebleeds. My son has frequent nosebleeds and I gave up trying to wash his hankies, I just bin them.

Takeaway stains always! Whenever we get a curry or chinese as a lazy 'treat', some of it always ends up on clothes/carpet. Have stopped getting them now, because it's just too stressful! Turmeric is the WORST.

BaconCrispsGone · 23/06/2018 17:58

I can't say it's ever occurred to me to be scared of stains :-S

NeverTwerkNaked · 23/06/2018 18:40

Paint! I accidentally bought non-washable paint for my daughter and it was a nightmare, her clothes
We’re ruined

Muffinbutton · 23/06/2018 19:05

Oil, sun tan lotion and tomato sauce.

MrsFTigalar · 23/06/2018 19:07

Tomato based sauces and curries here. Neither seem to properly go.

Also baby reflux vomit. Never cleans out either.

Schmoochypoos · 23/06/2018 19:10

Sun cream, huge yellow stains that will not come out on the collars Angry

Some sort of board markers (I’m told they are washable!?!) the kids use at school. Literally won’t budge and I’ve tried everything!

Avocado and mashed banana are also a nightmare!!

TheOriginalNNB · 23/06/2018 19:26

Tomato-based sauce on a white school polo top.... AARGH

leeloo1 · 23/06/2018 19:46

Another vote for whiteboard pen. Dd is starting reception at a school where the summer dresses are £38 each and they use a lot of whiteboard pens! Argh! 🙈

HRoosevelt · 23/06/2018 20:08

Mangoes and berries, the worst. Have been known to ask the children to eat bare chested to avoid the inevitable stains

Judi1144 · 23/06/2018 20:45

Red wine. I only tend to notice it the following morning....whooopsie. By then it’s dry and won’t budge.

3boysandabump · 23/06/2018 20:58

Blood

PenguinsCantFly · 23/06/2018 21:41

Chocolate! If I soak the clothes immediately, there's a slim chance I'll get the stain out...but normally I fail!

Imgettingcheesefries · 23/06/2018 22:43

Anything tomato based or grass stains

Follyfoot · 23/06/2018 22:45

You'd have to ask my husband, he does all the washing, but last time I checked he wasn't 'scared' of any stains. Maybe try a male forum?

TheWizardofWas · 23/06/2018 22:46

ANything oily, can never shift it and it has ruined a lot of clothes.

Hairydilemma · 24/06/2018 07:32

A child - not mine - drew on DD’s brand new (never even been washed Angry) duvet cover this week with a white board pen. Washed twice and won’t come out. So white board pens are my new arch-enemy.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 24/06/2018 07:49

Turmeric

greenlynx · 24/06/2018 08:38

Blueberries. We all love blueberries but the stains from them are real pain! I even used to change my daughter’s clothes before eating blueberries when she was younger. She often chooses blueberry muffin when we are out and about and I can’t help watching her like a hawk while she’s eating it!

dragontwo · 24/06/2018 09:18

curry / turmeric
