Which stains do you worry about most? Find out what Mumsnet users told Fairy Non Bio

NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Suntan cream which warns it will stain. Quite a few of last year's summer clothes were ruined last year through this.
Whiteboard pens - I only manage to get these stains to gradually fade.

Sharpies, curry, water-resistant suncream.

I’m not scared of them, they just don’t seem to come out very easily.

To the PP who said food grease, rubbing a bit of a washing up liquid on the grease stain will remove it Wink

I don't think I've been scared by any stains. Stubborn ones I've found is whiteboard pen ink and deodorant stains.

I am not scared of any stains. That said, those I find particularly irritating to remove are tomato sauce and coffee.

Raspberries.
So many light clothes have been ruined by raspberry juice.
I now insist on a full plastic bib and cover his bottom half with a tea towel when my 20 month old is munching raspberries.
I even tried ace for whites to bleach the stains out and it turned the entire white shirt a light blue?! 🤷‍♀️

My kids have a habit of sliding down muddy banks on their bums so all pairs of shorts now have permenently muddy bums.

Also, all the standard stuff like grease, pasta sauce, paint etc

Agree with newborn poo and blood although I've found ways of dealing with it.
However my baby's dribble stained our dark clothes and has been impossible to get out

Biro and felt tip pen on white school polo shirts!
Why oh why is it always a black pen? And why oh why is it always the brand new shirt that I took out of the packet and ironed that morning even though they were for next year, because all of his other shirts were covered in black pen that I can't get out!

Four year olds are absolutely marvellous but if Fairy can cure the pen wars I'm all ears!!

Sun cream on white cotton, lilly pollen if it's been rubbed in and turmeric.
Absolutely no way that any washing powder or liquid is getting those out of white cotton.

Well, no-one wants stained items but you'd be weird to be 'scared' of them. So 'all', but 'none'.

I find strong sunshine shifts tumeric, curry and Bolognese stains.

Somehow my DC get grease or oily stains (like like a greasy food stains but I don't think it is) on their clothes and that's really tough to get out.
