Laundry can be a surprisingly personal thing - whether you have a special way of hanging out your clothes or a foolproof way of getting your clothes to smell great. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear what you consider the most important when it comes to laundry, and what you’d love your laundry detergent to do.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We have some people tell us that scent is the key to a great wash, others who won’t compromise of softness or those who are all about natural ingredients or the gentleness of the formula. We would love to know what you just cannot not go without?”

Do you focus on getting rid of any odour from your clothes? Perhaps it’s important to you that your laundry products are skin-friendly for the entire family? Maybe you put a lot of energy into keeping your clothes in great condition? Are you a lover of fabric conditioner, keen to ensure that your clothes are all super soft?

Whatever the most important aspect of laundry is to you, share this on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Get the dirt out, not set off allergies and not too strong smelling.

That's about it!

snotato · 09/06/2018 17:09

The smell is very important to me.

NannyR · 09/06/2018 17:13

No stains, a subtle clean smell rather than a strong perfume, good value for money and environmentally friendly packaging. I buy bio powder because it's effective at getting clothes really clean, works out cheaper than liquids or tablets/pods and the cardboard box goes in the recycling.

TheClitterati · 09/06/2018 17:23

Clean and environmentally friendly.

I don't want my clothes to smell at all!!

I love freshly lined dry clothes.

Heavily fragrances washing products are my least fav thing in the world. Though I know others are very keen on scented clothes stuff.

TweetleBeetlesBattle · 09/06/2018 18:03

Staying on top of it, blink and the pile is a mile high again.

Miladamermalada · 09/06/2018 18:40

That it actually cleans stains. I have a baby with excema and use non bio but it doesn't always seem to clean, especially the cheap brands. I also need to use a higher temperature.

LupinsNotBluebells · 09/06/2018 21:30

Stain removal, esp. as DS' school have just changed their uniform to specify only white polo shirts, without flaring up eczema . DH and DS both have sensitive skin so we can't use biological powder.

StickChildNumberTwo · 09/06/2018 22:36

As long as it's clean I'm not too bothered about the rest, although anything washed in a different detergent to my usual one smells 'wrong'!

AntiqueOlive · 09/06/2018 23:57

absolutely non -allergenic and non perfumed. Will only buy Surcare

bridgetosomewhere · 10/06/2018 06:54

Clean
Smells nice
Soft
Does not irritate dd’s skin
Puts itself away?!

Sierra259 · 10/06/2018 07:21

Mainly that all stains are removed. And definitely the no tissues in pockets!!! That drives me insane!

ballstoit · 10/06/2018 07:33

Stains need to be removed
Needs to smell nice but not too strong an odour (I like my dc to smell like clean versions of them, not clean versions of my grandma so don't use lavender products Grin)
Doesn't take colour out of clothes

Sleepysausage · 10/06/2018 08:09

That its folded well after its dried to minimise the need for ironing

BaconCrispsGone · 10/06/2018 09:21

That it doesn't smell, I hate strongly smelling fabric conditioner

LittleMe03 · 10/06/2018 09:43

I used to buy various washing tabs usually depending on what had the best offer on.

I soon had preferences thou.

The main reason being is that certain brands had to be removed from the washing machine the minute it finished, to keep that fresh smell.

I never leave it longer than about 2 hours max and expect to be able to and it still smell fresh and clean

FlowerPotMum · 10/06/2018 10:07

I love my washing to smell clean and fresh. I also love it to be soft against the skin. A good fabric conditioner is a must.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 10/06/2018 10:28

Fresh and clean and doesn’t make me itchy

Treaclespongeandcustard · 10/06/2018 13:13

I love the feeling of dirty washing coming clean. It's my favourite household chore Grin

Ifeelreallylow · 10/06/2018 13:55

Got to be clothes being clean and stain free.
My kids are always covered in grass and food stains so this is important.
I'm not bothered about scent as long as it's not musty or damp.
But I hang bundles of chalk in all our wardrobes and bags of chalk in the draws. Absorbs any damp smells.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/06/2018 14:00

I want a washing powder that does not leave any residue and does not irritate Ds’s eczema.

BeeMyBaby · 10/06/2018 14:31

To get stains out even with super hard water

littleme96 · 10/06/2018 16:18

Stain removal is most important to me followed by a nice scent.

birdsandblossom · 10/06/2018 17:53

I need my washing to smell nice, be clean and stain free. It's also important that my little ones clothes stay bright - we wear a lot of bright colours and I try hard to keep the colours looking bright and new.

Childrenofthesun · 10/06/2018 18:02

That the detergent works well, especially on whites, even at a cool wash. I try to only wash at 30 or 40 degrees for economical and environmental reasons.

BeeFarseer · 10/06/2018 18:09

The most important aspect of laundry for me is stain removal, and that the clothes are actually clean. Following that, they have to be soft. Then they must smell nice. That's actually really important - I find that most detergents I've used get clothes clean and soft, but the scent varies.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love strong laundry scents. If I open the washing machine door and get hit in the face with a wall of scent, I'm happy. Grin
