Laundry can be a surprisingly personal thing - whether you have a special way of hanging out your clothes or a foolproof way of getting your clothes to smell great. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear what you consider the most important when it comes to laundry, and what you’d love your laundry detergent to do.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We have some people tell us that scent is the key to a great wash, others who won’t compromise of softness or those who are all about natural ingredients or the gentleness of the formula. We would love to know what you just cannot not go without?”

Do you focus on getting rid of any odour from your clothes? Perhaps it’s important to you that your laundry products are skin-friendly for the entire family? Maybe you put a lot of energy into keeping your clothes in great condition? Are you a lover of fabric conditioner, keen to ensure that your clothes are all super soft?

Whatever the most important aspect of laundry is to you, share this on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I just want clean and not funny smelling

Twiglet1983 · 25/06/2018 13:52

I use an antibacterial liquid in my wash to get rid of any nasties. I’d love a detergent that had that incorporated. For me the most important part is stain removal, my 16 month old prefers wearing his food to eating it!

clauski · 25/06/2018 14:43

Clean (obviously!), fresh not damp smelling, and as crease free as possible!

grannybiker · 25/06/2018 14:44

Getting clothes clean / stain-free and removing and pong is the basic criteria for success in a washing powder IMHO.
Feeling soft and removing any static in synthetic fibres favoured now is a bonus.

I think the most important aspect to me is the comfort and softness of the laundry detergent. There's no point having clothes and bed linen that doesn't feel soft and gentle. I'm fussy about how things feel on my families skin, so would choose this aspect over everything else, obviously a clean fresh smell and great stain removal are important, but I want all our clothes to feel soft after every wash.

alison991 · 25/06/2018 15:48

That it looks clean and feels soft

joannecc · 25/06/2018 17:28

I have to make sure my laundry smells good! With a teenage son I like to use an antibac solution along with detergent & conditioner to ensure the laundry smells fresh

Blondie1982 · 25/06/2018 19:11

Sorting my washing in to darks and whites and putting them on the right wash cycle is important to me

Chocolatecake12 · 25/06/2018 19:14

I love to open my washing machine to a fresh smell! If it smells nice and clean I’m happy! Also needs to be fairly gentle so not to cause skin reactions.

Kangakate · 25/06/2018 19:15

Apart from getting through it, a long lasting fresh scent and getting rid of stains

PhilTB54 · 25/06/2018 19:46

Stain free, fresh smelling and feeling soft to the touch

79lauren79 · 25/06/2018 20:01

Clothes coming out stain free

laurapotz · 25/06/2018 20:04

As long as they are clean, dry and not irritating my allergies I'm happy!

matphil · 25/06/2018 20:19

I like my clothes to be clean, free from stains and smelling fresh.
I use a conditioner to make sure my clothes smell lovely.
I like to hang things on the line, I have a 'big line' for the big things and hang them in order of length, then a 'small line' for the smaller items.

maria08k · 25/06/2018 20:45

For me its a fresh scent and a good stain remover...having a husband who paints for a living and a son who manages to get board marker on his clothes daily...stain removal is a MUST!

Inyosi · 25/06/2018 20:56

As I have eczema I need to ensure that my skin doesn't react with any laundry products - its a shame as I really like the nice smelling products but can't use them!

ptak5566 · 25/06/2018 21:08

Clean looking with no stains and smells fresh.

zbody1 · 25/06/2018 21:13

Complete cleanliness , no stains . Scent has proved to be really divisive in our house with at least two members being really averse to any fragrance. As a result I try to buy fragrance free products when I can find them .

CGORST · 25/06/2018 21:21

For me, the most important part of the laundry is getting the wash looking as near like new as possible. That means it must be clean and fresh first time with as little effort on my part as possible! :-)

kelliec · 25/06/2018 21:37

A lovely long lasting scent

suewilly · 25/06/2018 22:05

I'm always trying to get my towels really fluffy, like they are when they are new. Even when I use lots of conditioner and hang them on the line to blow dry, I always seem to have flattened towels

baconbap · 25/06/2018 22:24

Not smelling of any perfumed detergent

BrendasUmbrella · 25/06/2018 23:08

That clothes stay as new looking as possible and colours stay sharp. Whites stay white, brights stay bright, black does't fade, etc.

jamielmdjs · 25/06/2018 23:18

Getting as much in the load in one go! I don't let Sarah do the washing. If she wants to clear the washing baskets, it can take 4/5 loads. For me, it's 2.

Need a great smelling detergent to handle such big loads!

caygijan · 25/06/2018 23:25

Clean and fresh with a nice smell
